Private RP between Ellandra & Rhian (Redbud-Tree) and Faolan & Ziazan (Jynk)

Faolan was leaned on the table, one hand laid out in the center, palm-up. Ziazan sat opposite him, hand stretched out palm-down over the table, fingers touching Fao's as they matched rhythm, tapping their fingertips together and trying to throw each other off, both chuckling a bit or cursing softly when one of them managed to catch the other off. It was an old game that Fao had been taught as a child and he'd now taught it to the Essentic as a way to pass time on occasion.
He'd rather be snuggled up to his wife on the couch while she read and trying to distract her, but she'd already shooed him away once for being overly frisky while teaching Rhian to read. He could understand the need for getting the Essentics to learn, he'd been through it all with Zia, after all, so now he was amusing himself--and Zia--with playing at the table.

Ellandra softly stroked one of Rhian's wings as she finished reading the storybook, and smiled at her little flutterbye. The proto had paid unwavering attention to her owner as she read the story, though she hadn't really grasped the concept of reading for herself yet. She seemed to prefer hearing things read to her instead. Sighing quietly, Ellandra rose to her feet, Rhian fluttering off of her arm and going over to the table as she did so.
"What are Ellandra-husband and Sibling doing?" Rhian asked curiously, hovering above Faoland and Ziazan, tilting her head as she watched. "Is this something helpful?" If so, the little Proto wanted to learn it, too - anything helpful was good to know, after all. The butterfly Essentic's owner, however, sat back down relatively quickly after sh'd gotten up, merely putting the book away and returning to her seat.
However, she didn't sit down, instead she lay down on the couch and curled up a little. She felt somewhat nauseated at the moment, and hoped a short time of quiet stillness would make it go away. As she lay still, fighting down the ill feeling swirling in her stomach, she looked over at her family, her eyes drawn to her husband's hair. It. . . needed a trim. Badly.
But how to ask him if she could fix it up. . .?

Faolan looked up at Rhian, chuckling. "It's a game, lass. We're just playin' for fun." He made a bit of a face at the proto. "You know you can call me Faolan, right? And that's Ziazan." He pointed to the young alter.

Rhian nodded. "I know," she said, flicking him with her antennae. "But you are still Ellandra-husband and Sibling!" Clearly, the little proto was fully intent on calling them by those names for as long as she could possibly get away with it. She hummed, a sound that vaguely resembled a sort of bubbly giggle without actually being one, and resumed watching them.
Ellandra, still feeling a bit nauseated but determined to ignore it, sat up and looked around for some scissors. "Faolan?" she said, waiting for his response before she finished her question.

Faolan made another face and Zia just rolled its eyes. The young man was about to try and convince the proto to use their names when Elle called him, his ear cocking back in her direction before he turned to look at her. "Aye, love?" He noticed the scissors in her hands and his eyes widened. "Okay, okay! Assa! I'll be nicer to your little bug." He held up his hands in complete surrender.

Ellandra blinked, then laughed. "W-what? No, no you silly - I just wanted to know if you'd let me tidy your hair up a little. . . that's all." Rhian, across the room, echoed her owner in a giggle-ish sound.
"Ellandra-husband makes silly faces; that's why I don't use his name. Amusment is positive; if it becomes negative I will stop, but not before!"

"Tidy my hair? What're you on about, wife? It's fine. I cut it just two months ago," Faolan said, ruffling a hand through the badly mowed lawn that was his current hairstyle. Honestly, did the man cut it with a weedwhacker? He gave his wife a puppy-dog look. "You're gonna do it anyway, aren't you?"
Zia rolled its eyes again as its parents got in on their usual antics and looked up at Rhian. "You know, Rhi. Some people like being called by their names. I refuse to answer to being called 'Sibling.' Start using my name or I'll just start referring to you simply as 'Bug' from now on."

Ellandra smiled, and there was just a tiny little hint of devilishness in it. "Yes, I am. . . . and if you don't hold still and let me, I might accidently cut off more than you really would want."
Rhian looked down at the older Essentic, looking vaguely disappointed and mildly confused. "But you nearly always call me "Bug" anyway."

Fao got a hold of his ears, one in each hand, and tugged them down a bit, giving even more of a puppy-dog look. "I better get lots of lovin' after this, wife."
Zia scoffed and looked up at its sister. "Maybe because I don't like just being referred to as 'Sibling,' Rhi. And maybe I can start conveniently forgetting to bring you cotton candy, too."

Ellandra giggled. "Sit down and let er do this, and we won't have to leave the bedroom for the rest of the day if you want."
"N-no fluffy treat?!?!?" Rhian's wings stopped fluttering and she plummeted straight to the floor, thankfully not a ridiculously far fall but still enough cause for a wince or two.

Fao's hands dropped to his lap, his ears perking straight up. "Really? Will you let me do that thing you don't really like but would if you'd just relax?" He looked rather hopeful, then turned his head at the thump. "Zia, don't tease your sister like that." He looked back at Elle, rolling his eyes and giving her a grin. "Kids, honestly. Am I right?"
Zia moved to kneel on the floor by its sister. "Come now, wean. I was only kidding."

Wllandra made a face. "No. Not now, not ever, husband or no." She too, turned at the thump but nearly dropped her scissors in worry, halted in her instinct to rush over by the butterfly quickly taking to the air again and fluttering around her sibling.
"Never ever kid about the fluffy treat please! You get to go out and I can't so I need fluffy treat to make it better! . . . . But. . . no more "Sibling"." She paused and flisked Zia with her antennae. "Zi-Zi instead?" she asked hopefully, not wanting to admit that she actually ad some trouble saying Ziazan properly - it came out sounding like Zazan or Zizan or, well, anything but her sibling's name and she didn't like that at all.

Faolan pouted so much at his wife, then sighed. "Fine, but you don't know what you're missin' out on havin' a man willin' to do that for you." He reached over, laying a hand on Elle's arm. "Come, lass. Do what you will to me, then."
Zia tilted its head, considering. "How about just Zi then, yeah?"

"I don't think I mind missing out," Ellandra said dryly, before inspecting Faolan's hair and taking the scissors to it.
Rhian nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, Zi is good - can I have fluffy treat now?"
