I actually like the look of the elongated face and find the redo by tinyfreya too squished.
I think if you had just made the mouth and nose bigger/more predominate it would've balanced out a big better since the small-ness of it all does make it feel a little off.
The eyes are nice, but a little crooked. I'm sometimes a cheapskate and just copy then mirror basic sketches of eyes to make sure they're the same size if the drawing is a front view like this >_>;
Don't be afraid to turn on the grid to help you line up things if you need to. The feature is there for a reason ;D

The lack of eyebrows is a little distracting and might help make the forhead look a little less huge.



By merely increasing the size of the mouth and nose and giving eyebrows it helps balance everything out without reducing the size of the elongated head.
