Hey guys! Great to be back on here! Anyway, recently I have noticed a problem with my amp. It is a marshall 150h half stack. I just got a gibson explorer and it sounds great. There is a problem though. My amp becomes very staticy when I play the guitar on the bridge pickup. Especially on the clean channel. Whenever I strum a chord or even play a picking lick, it makes a terrible staticy noise. When I change it to the other pickup selector positions, there is no static. A while ago, it seemed like it would only happen sometimes, but now it happens all the time, and it sounds really bad. stressed Do you guys think you could help me with this? My thoughts are that it could be a pickup/wall outlet grounding issue, but im not too sure. Any help is much appreciated! Thank you so much guys!

It could be a number of things, the way I see it. Either your pickup/s need to be grounded, or the output of your bridge pickup could be distorting the amp.

Dirty pots? (guitar or amp?), try using another cable?, check for loose components in your amp that could be having trouble makin connectivity during the vibrations?
Sorry short answer today because short on time. Good luck.

If it's only happening on your bridge pickup then it's probably not the cable (though try a new one just to be sure). If anything, pop off the plate behind your switches and knobs on the back of the guitar and make sure that all the connections are sound. If they aren't, you'll have to get it fixed by either taking it to a repair guy or using a soldering iron. It doesn't sound like you're having issues with grounding; but I could be wrong.
Does your amp have a gate? If so, try turning it off to see whether the problem persists when you're not playing. Then you may have a grounding issue.
