STEAMPUNK AVI CONTEST
 Time for the Next Avi Contest!!
The theme is simply Steampunk!
Steampunk is... a Science-Fiction/Fantasy sub-genre that's usually characterized by Victorian or Neo-Victorian (incl. Western) fashion and over the top industrialization. Steampunk is anachronistic to a degree, putting steam-powered, gear-turned versions of today's technologies into previous eras, esp. the Victorian Age.
A couple Gaian items that characterize the Steampunk sub-genre are the Time Piece and the Techno-Mage, as well as Reve Rouille and parts of Lyndexer's Journal. Good examples outside Gaia are: Jules Verne's works, Wild Wild West (w/Will Smith & Kevin Kline) and The Golden Compass. A Google search will also provide you with ideas if you are unfamiliar with the theme.
 Each person will be allowed to submit two avis.
There will be two categories, each of which will receive a prize!
1. Real Avis: This will allow you to remake your own avi into a cool steampunk theme.
2. Tektek Avis: This will allow you to use tektek to create any avi you like! This portion will be annonymous! Don't post your tektek entry here, PM it to me and I will assign it a number!
TIME: Entriesl will be accepted from May 30-June 16
Voting: June 16-June 30
Rules:
Use only one account to enter and to vote.
Follow all gaia TOS
Make an attempt at the "Steampunk" theme.
If the same person wins both contests, then the closest runner up will be chosen.
You MAY update or even completely change your entry it you wish up to twice after submitting it!
Vote for up to 2 entries from each type!

 For those who ask.. what is Steampunk? Well there are lots of definitions and many different takes on it! Basically, imagine if, instead of all of the electronics, people had developed advanced steam technology with lots of gears. Wikipedia: SteampunkUsually people dress in Victorian or Victorian-esque clothes, add some brass or gadgets and sometimes go for the ripped up, ragged, well worn look. Some commonly used items: Timepiece Techno Mage bodice (any) starter capri ragged ugly orphan scarf

Some of the basic steampunk items are reeeally cheap! A few tips to try
girls rocker capris
ugly ragged orphan scarf.
any of the ripped up clothes! There's a lot of cheap stuff to work with there!
