 It was a beautiful day - at least to Silhouette's puppy mind, sure storm clouds gathered on the horizon and the tree tops swayed with the promise of the impending storm. but the sun was warm - for now - and the skittering wind driven leaves provided buckets of fun for a wayward pup.
Puppy growls and smalls barks pierced the air as Sil chased the leaves from one side of the clearing outside the den to the other, it didn't matter to her that it as an ungodly hour of the morning. She was awake and there was enough light to see by and warm her fur - how early it was simply didn't cross her mind.
Leaping into the air she snapped at a particularly high flying leaf, letting out a soft oomph as she landed and it continued on its path unhindered, undaunted she gathered herself and chased after the escaping leaf with an angry yowl.

 Where had Silhouette gotten off to? One minute she was there, in the den with the rest of the puppies who were going to wait out the storm because surely the sun would shine afterwards, and the next, gone. Moxii stood and stretched, giving one glance to Momma and the rest of the litter, then took off rather gleefully. Escape once again! And this time, she had a mission. Hunt down her sister and bring her home, and nothing would stand in her way. She spooked as the leaves swirled around her, but she caught sight of the black pelt of her sister and trotted up, eyeing the storm clouds as if they might bite her. "What are you -doing-?" What do you think she's doing. She's playing. You should join her, her mind tempted. Moxii stamped a paw on the ground and growled.

Sil thumped back to the ground after what she considered to be a particularly impressive jump and watched as the still free leaf danced away out of reach...well she could follow it but that would mean going into the forest, where she wasn't supposed to go alone.
Pondering this Sil's thoughts were inturrupted by the arrival of Moxii who seemed fairly concerned with the look of the sky, glancing up Sil had to admit it was strting to get pretty dark - but so what? who ever heard of rain hurting anyone? Of course the dangers of lightning and flooding completely escaped her mind for the moment.
"Chasing the leave's, its fun"
She answered her sister, giving a little play bounce at her before trotting off with wagging tail to chase more leaves, completely ignoring her sister's growl - or maybe intentionally antagonizing her, one could never tell with Sil
"come on Mox, don't you -want- to play? the den is sooo boring!"

 Zoroastres, or Zor for short, opened an ruby eye and noted that two of his siblings were gone from the den. He knew that his cousin, Musketeer and Mahli were out looking for the lost cousin, but that didn't cover where Moxii and Sil was.
Stretching his little legs out before him, and pushing his butt into the air, the near solid white pup stood up and slinked towards the entrance of the cave. His little nose twitching at the scent of the impending rain and an ear swiviled back towards the rest of their slumbering family, actually a great deal of the pack seemed to out and it was just them in the den.
Shaking his head the wide black slashes, making an ackward smile seeming to stay upon the young male pup's face, was the first coloring on the white pup to appear out of the den entrance.
Sil was playfully stating she was chasing leaves and, against all his own better reasoning, Zor's tail began to wag. A ruby eye flashed up towards the sky waryily.
But dismissed the looming danger quickly, and white paws bounded from the den, tail wagging. "Moxii! Sil! Can I join?" He questioned coming up along side of Moxii and stumbling to a stop waiting for an answer.

Well it was obvious that the little black femme was chasing leaves. What Moxii wanted to know was -why- she was chasing leaves in weather that threatened rain, maybe hail. She shook her head slowly.
Play with her... Your brother wants to...
Moxii turned away from Silhouette to gaze over at Zoroastres. Their brother... Surely, he had come to retrieve the sisters to take them back to the den! Moxii's tail wagged as he moved up beside her, but at his words, her heart fell. Him too?
Of course. It's fun. Why not try it? her mind purred in reply.
She placed a hesitant paw on a leaf, barking once before flattening her ears. "Fine, guys. We can play. But as soon as it starts to rain, I mean it, we have to go in."
Party pooper...

Sil bounced over to her brother as he made an entrance and sat down by the still wavering Moxii. Now that he was here maybe Mox would loosen up a little, playfully skittering in between her two siblings, she nipped at her sisters ear and bumped Zor with her shoulder.
"Of course you can play Zor"
bounding out from between them Sil raced off barking as the wind blew up a large whirlwind of leave's sending them swirling off towards the woods still dangerously dark with the heavy clouds moving over the sun.
"sure Moxii, but come on Zor's here now, the three of us can handle a few raindrops, besides we're right outside the den we can run back in whenever we want to and mom will never even know!"
She called back over her shoulder before snapping at a whirling leaf and shaking it to little bits once she caught it.

Twix watched the pups quietly from the shadows of the trees, poor Venera had been so tired since she had birthed them. Her young body was taxed by the large litter and the untried mother could barely keep her eyes open these days. Yet compassion was new to Twix instead of going to the den and offering comfort she watched from afar. Making sure the pups were safe though they were prone to wandering was something that made the harsh beta feel better. A part of her wondered why, when the rest of her family was finding love and having pups of their own...she had not. No matter, she cleared her head of such thoughts for the moment.
Veero yawned sleepily and closed his mouth with a tiny clack of puppy fangs before looking around. He tilted his head and blinked before uncurling himself to head outside. The moment he poked his nose out of the den he regretted it, it was cold out there...well compared to the warmth of the den. Quicksilver eyes easily pinpointed his siblings playing among the leaves. He wriggled a bit before running out and moving to pounce his sister Moxii.
