Faolan lay sprawled face-down in the bed he normally shared with Ellandra, not aware of her absence in his still mostly-sleeping state. One arm hung over the edge of the bed, the other curled around his pillow, hugging it close as he snored softly, a slight smile at his lips. The covers had traveled downwards in his sleep, leaving his bare back exposed, the tattoos there stark against his pale skin. His auburn hair stuck up in several different directions, styled from sleep, and one ear twitched about in reaction to whatever he was dreaming of.

Ellandra yawned a little and rubbed at her face, hoping that she didn't have any bags developing under her eyes. She didn't need Faolan seeing them and worrying about her lack of sleep. . . she knew she needed to rest, but she'd been having such a hard time of it lately - between the need for extra rest from being pregnant and the nightmares that were keeping her from getting that rest, she had the feeling she was starting to look like a wreck. Standing up from where she had been sitting on the steps of the Vardo watching the sunrise earlier, drifting in and out of a light doze the entire time - she'd thrown on one of Faolan's robes over her nightgown, the mist made it a bit chilly - she moved quietly inside and to the bedroom.
She looked down at her mostly asleep husband and saw his ear twitch, bring a smile to her face that removed some of the weariness from her expression. Kneeling beside the bed, she began to softly stroke the twitching ear.

Faolan's ear twitched more under his wife's hand, one golden eye slowly opening and rolling up to look at her. Normally, he'd be incredibly turned on by the attentions, but in his sleep-muddled state, it was more or less tickling him. "Haddaway tha', wife. Gie oof ma lugs. T'early fae tha' play." He moved, tucking his face more into the pillow with a sigh, and muffled out. "Gan noo t' th' larnin' th' beuks frae Da." He made a lazy shooing motio, then let his hand drop back to the bed.

Ellandra blinked and stopped what she was doing, though the only thing she really understood about what her sleepy-voiced husband had just said was to stop. Well, she wouldn't bother him, then. She didn't needto head to Keagan's for a little while, though, so maybe she'd try to doze on the couch a bit. Sighing softly, she kissed the top of Faolan's head. "All right; go back to sleep, you're so sleepy I can't understand you," she said quietly, getting to her feet.

The hand hanging over the edge of the bed moved and he caught the edge of her robe, turning his head to look up at her again. "Assa, quine, naw needs t' gae. Coom baek t' bed an leyt me haud ye soom."

Well...
Ellandra hadn't quite caught the precise ords he was using - she had a hard time understanding her husbands "sleepytime strong" accent, but she understood the meaning well enough. And... even if she couldn't sleep... It took her only a moment to make up her mind before she climbd into bed with Faolan, sighing softly and snuggling up to him.

The young man rolled onto his side, scooting around to make room for her, then curled around Ellandra when she was settled. "Ye nae been sleepin', wife. Hou coom?" Fao asked softly, voice a little husky and thick from being barely awake.

The brunette closed her eyes and sighed - she hadn't wantd to bother Faolan, not at all, but it seemed he wanted (maybe needed?) to know. Perhaps she had been worrying him more by not telling him? She didn't know. She had, however, understood him perfectly - this time, at least, thank goodness for small miracles - and knew that she couldn't - shouldn't - put this off any longer.
"Nightmares," she said in a small, ashamed voice, hardly daring to hope that he wouldn't press any further.

Faolan moved a bit, hugging her closer to him. "Ain't naw need fae tha'," he said, waking up and suppressing the accent more now. "Woot's got ye so bothered now, eh, t' be havin' nightmares?"

Ellandra shrugged a little, nestling closer. "There's..... there's nothing really, that I can think of," she said quietly a slight shudder rippling through her as the images in her dreams ran through her mind again. "It's just. . . I can't seem to stop thinking about - about what happened to my mother, wh-whatever it was. . . and whenever I think about it hard, or - or when I'm asleep, there's always. . . well, red. . ." She trailed off and sighed, then continued. "Faolan. . . do you think. . . .memories that are gone. . . can come back?"

"Oh, aye, I lose memories all the time from the drinkin' and the next mornin', I spend time tryin' to remember what I did . . . and a lot more time tryin' to forget again. I'll put this out there right now, wife. You can't ever just unsee walking in on Bertha the Bearded Lady while she's changin'." He shuddered a little, clearly more awake now. Looking at her, he smiled a little. "Why are you seein' red in your dreams?"

Ellandra giggled, but it sounded almost frayed around the edges, somehow. "No, I don't imagine you could ever "unsee" that," she admitted, blinking up at him. "As for the red. . . I - I don't know. . . but. . . it's always tied to my mother, whether I'm trying to remember her, or, well, in the dream.... it's strange to be so frightened of it; there's just my mother and red in it........" she paused, and wrinkled her nose vaguely. "A lot of red... and in the dream I know it's bad but I never know why....."

Faolan laid there, thinking awhile, then shrugged. "Red is a color of passion, of power, and courage. It's a very strong color. I can't really think of what you might be associating to your mother with it." He moved around and sat up. "You got something that's hers that she might've had when she died? Give it to Zia and let it sort out what she died from."

Ellandra nodded. "My - my old hat, actually - the one I left that first night? I got it for the first birthday I remember." She paused, tilting her head and wrinkling her nose in thought as she, too, sat up. "Actually, I found it before then... Papa had to take it to a dry cleaner's, that's why I got it on my birthday..." Shaking her head a little, she looked over to the box her spark rested in, and sighed to see it as dormant as ever. "I wish that little one would come along soon. . . I know it will emerge when it's ready, but I can't help but want to meet it. . ."
