I will be posting updates from our friend as I receive them.
To all of you who have his email addresses, remember that he will only be able to check the ship email, so use that address. He has asked me to provide that email address to anyone who would like to write to him, so drop me a PM if you're interested.
If anyone has any plans or suggestions on things we can do to keep zeromus connected while he's away or to celebrate his return, please post them here.
And don't forget to keep those machetes equipped in his honor!

I got word a few hours ago that there has been a delay in the departure of the ship. Everyone still has to stay on board, but they are waiting for some repairs to be completed before they can leave.
He misses everyone already, and is grateful for all everyone did to make the days right before he left really wonderful!

And before I forget, I already spoke to several of you about this, but if anyone has a way to make a video and upload it to the internet (even a camera phone with a video setting will do), I would love some help in keeping him connected to Gaia while he's gone. So if you would be willing to make a video for him, PM me and I will give you all the information about what I'm planning! Thanks a million!

Here is the Navy Times article on the delay:
Faulty part delays Reagan's departure By Gidget Fuentes - Staff writer Posted: Wednesday May 27, 2009 15:45:20 EDT
SAN DIEGO - A faulty voltage regulator put a halt to Wednesday morning's planned departure and overseas deployment of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan. A maintenance team boarded the ship at its North Island Naval Air Station pier in Coronado, Calif., after the ship reported a problem with one of its eight electrical generators, a spokesman said. "It doesn't impact the reactor's ability to function safely," Lt. Cmdr. Charlie Brown, a Naval Air Forces spokesman, said about noon. "It's just prudent for the ship to fix this pierside." Brown said officials weren't sure yet when the carrier will depart but expect it could be sometime Wednesday afternoon. Reagan, the flagship for Carrier Group 7, is leading a 7,000-member strike group with the cruiser Chancellorsville, frigate Thach and destroyers Decatur, Gridley and Howard, along with Carrier Air Wing 14 and a detachment from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 11. The smaller warships left their berths at San Diego Naval Base on schedule Wednesday morning and will join Reagan for the scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf regions, officials said.
