Did someone try out Sabayon 4.1?
I found this on StumbleUpon: http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/sabayon-4-1.html

Looks cool but I would like to hear from someone who had tried it out. Is it better than Ubuntu Linux? (I know this one takes way more resources but I can handle that razz )

Better is subjective.

Sabayon is a fork of the venerable Gentoo project (like Ubuntu is a fork of Debian).

Gentoo and Debian are similar in some ways, but take vastly different philosophical and technological approaches to system design and maintenance.

For the average end-user either system should work fine. They are both stable distros with large and active communities.

I always recommend that unless you have some specific reason for needing to switch, stick to the distro you have. Functionally, all distributions are nearly equivalent. Most times the choice of distro is more of a philosophical or even theological decision than an objective one.
