...the timeless conversation starter. while careers don't speak to EVERY part of anyone's personality, they can still be interesting things to discuss, or maybe you want to vent about your current (un)employment woes. maybe you don't know what you want to do with your life, even ( ninja ). i just thought it would be neat to see what other goddesses do (or are thinking of doing) for a living.
i'm a college student, so that doesn't leave much time for work, but i do work during the summers as a tour guide in a local cave. it's a pretty neat job for a lot of reasons: it's great for people-watching, it affords a lot of free time for reading or writing or drawing, it's NOT working for Corporate America (tm) which is a really GREAT feeling, i can work on my people skills in a comfortable environment (people afford you a certain amount of respect as a tour guide, even if it's only for the duration of the tour) where i'm the one in control of the interaction, and it's a chance to get paid for talking to people about something that interests me. it's also a job that attracts a certain character of people that i would define as "quirky," who are nearly all great and fun to work with.
i go to school for Creative Writing and Philosophy, as well as maybe a minor in Russian/Russian Studies. i don't know what i'm doing to do with a BA in those areas. my dream would be to open my own little bookstore with a place to do tarot readings and the like in the back, maybe publish some writing...who knows?
so anyway. "what do you gals all do?"

I don't do anything, really... I have a job right now in data entry but it's only til Christmas... I am also a college student but I feel I am too old to do what I really want to do which is (don't laugh) video game art... I know, I know, "you're only as old as you feel", "you're never to old to go to school/or learn", or "you're never to old to do what you really want". I've heard it all but I still feel that it's not really possible... Besides art, I also really love the Japanese language... there are 5 levels at my school. I took the first and want to continue but it seems that whenever I try to take the next level (I've only tried twice though) my class gets cancelled... I am not a very good student and don't really have any specific talents or interests other than video games, anime, other cartoons, and art, but I do like to read a little... I feel I am a very confused person and don't really have any direction... I guess my home situation makes it a little hard... I don't know... I'm confused again...

I am the nightshift switchboard operator for the State Hospital. It's the Psych Hospital, not a medical one. I answer the phone, page the Dr.'s, dispatch the phones, and call the emergency people when needed, such as 911 and the fire department.

working in a cave sounds really neat. I am a stay at home mom, its pretty much all consuming. But im thinking of getting back in school i just dont know what to do with my on ihte day cares, if i could find someone i really trusted to come here and watch him all day thats what id choose. In the past though ive had some very interesting jobs. ive worked at a haunted house, ive done fiber optic lighting in new orleans and vegas and ive been a camra man at the race track. Now that we are incali if i can go back to school id probly get on doing sets or grip or something in film id wager.

crew stuff sounds like it'd be fun. i've always wanted to know how to work those big electronics.
my mom was able to find a good sitter for my brother and me when we were youngins, that worked out well for her (she could go back to work) and us (we had one person watching the two of us, plus her older son was/is like a big brother to us both). good luck!

I'm in school 35hrs a week, mon-fri, though with 1 1/2 hours of bussing each way... I work 4-6 hrs on friday nights, along with another 4-8 hrs on sundays. I also go to my dentist's on saturdays from 12-2 to get some experience behind the Receptionist's desk, as that's what I'm in school for. 3nodding
I'm thinking after I become a certified Dental Receptionist, I'll start working as one while I take other courses. I want to learn Japanese and French, and I think I want to continue my Dental studies and become a Dental Laboratory Technician, as then I get to work with casts and make everything from Dentures to Crowns. heart

Right now I don't have a job. I used to work at a frozen food plant, oh what stories to I have of that place. Too many to tell really lol. Right now I'm in college for Multi Media Design and am currently planning to create my own website. I can't wait until I'm able to. It'll be so cool to actually have it up and running and to show people what I can do. I've been wanting to do this sort of thing for a long time and now I can. It's amazing what one can learn if you are inspired. Anyway yep that's what I do lol. For now anyway, jobs are a forever changing thing. We all have so many roles to play in everyday life. smile

I work as a teacher in the infant room in a daycare. I watch over four infants, we do art, I change diapers, feed, burp, and help them through their developmental stages of life during that time until they become one year old and can walk, then they move to the one year old room.

I'm a high school English teacher. I enjoy the students (for the most part), but the administration really gets to me. I'm sure many of you have read my posts in the GGG Journal and understand why.
My previous job was as a living historian. I portrayed a 1750's half-French, half-Native American girl. Every day I dressed, acted, and WAS her. It was a wonderful way to teach history, and the most awesome job ever.

I am still a high school student who is thinking of getting a job at the Renaissance faire but until then, a bagger at the grocery store will do. xd
When I grow up, I want to be a journalist. Enlightening the ignorant american public of what's happening. Besides, I'd get to travel to lots of different places to report events and stuff. 3nodding

I only work during the summer (I go to college in the spring and fall) so it usually depends on where I am at the time. Right now I am working at Polo Ralph Lauren.....yeah yeah.....I know........I don't even like their style of clothing but the pay is good and it is pretty easy and keeps me busy. I hate not having anything to do.
During the school year I am a major in Geology with a minor in Geography which is really time consuming but also alot of fun! After I graduate I think I am going to go on to graduate school just so I can get all of my education out of the way in one fell swoop. I really don't want to go for a PhD.....no thank you......been through 4 years and going to have to go through 2 more.........that's it for me thanks. sweatdrop
