The juvenile lioness skipped through the thick grass that grew under the trees, humming a new tune to her footfalls. She loved the ideas of songs, but she never got past humming what she could manage herself. The songbirds helped give her ideas, as well as the water running through their banks, but it never quite seemed enough. She wanted to sing. Too scared of what her voice would turn out to be, she never attempted. Instead, she spoke as little as she could, using other means of communication to get across what she wanted. It worked for the most part, but she might have to get over her fear when she grew older. Children get away with much, but not adults. She wasn't a fool. Not with what her dreams showed her.

Anahita's bright eyes noticed someone lurking quite closely to the large tree that was commonly full of those songbirds she so admired. Curious, her skipping turned directions just to see who that fellow was.

Xundao was the sulky creature. Ever since his father literally disappeared, Xundao had to figure out his life without the miserable excuse for a father to help him. And while everything seemed to be going okay, he wasn't okay with any of it. Especially with the fact that he had to assume his father was dead. No one had told him, but then no one had bothered to try and tell him otherwise. He'd probably never see his face again.

Sighing, he didn't realize that there was someone near him until two very bright teal eyes were looking up at him curiously. Grimacing slightly, he drew back, making a face. "What...what do you want?" No reply. "Go play with someone else, I don't play." No movement. Okay, this was going to get annoying really fast.

Ana only shook her head. Her eyes continued to stare at him, but he seemed more replused than anything. Hm. Why? She knew that she was cute, even with her silly ram horn markings. Mommy only said that they were a blessing, but she never understood what that meant. Only that she was special. Maybe that was why she liked to sing.

Shaking her head to rid her mind of the distractions, she pointed at him, then at the tree. When she still only recieved a blank look, she pouted at him. Her lower lip sticking out slightly, she stomped her paw on the floor. "Why here?" she asked quickly, still fearful of her voice cracking. Horrible thing it could be, and she really didn't want to start crying in front of a fluffy adult like him.

He furrowed one brow at her, wondering just what the hell she was doing. Poor speaking abilities, that was certain. "Why am I here?" he asked, receiving a feverent nod in return. Uh. Okay.

"Because I want to be?" he said, wondering if that was a good enough answer to get her to leave. When she merely glared at him, he glanced back upwards at the tree, wondering what to do next. "Ahh..." How did you interact with...kids? Even if she seemed more determined to see what he was up to than a kid should be.

"I like to sit here and think," he said truthfully, giving up on trying to avoid the subject. She probably wouldn't remember it later anyways. "It's quiet here most of the time, and dark. Usually I'm left alone, but obviously today wasn't my lucky day."

Ana snorted. Hmph! She knew that not all adults were like this, but he was kinda a grouch. Upon closer inspection, it looked like his mane was freshly grown in. Too pretty to be of a real adult. She crawled closer, starting to climb up him while pawing at his mane. She felt him stagger at the sudden weight on him, and his protests rang in her ears. She bopped him on the nose like a naughty cub, and bounced back onto the ground.

"New mane," she determined. "Foolish." She twirled into a fit of giggles, rolling onto her back with the look he had given her. Oh, only if he could see his own face! He certainly was a childish one, hm? She knew she was, but her visions had forced her to grow up a little quickly, even if it was only on one sense of maturing.

"Patience," she said when she gathered herself up again, resting her little paw on his larger one.

Xundao's eyes narrowed, and then widened. Just what was she going on about? He hadn't the faintest idea, but he was starting to grow more uncomfortable with it as time went on. He was just not starting to remember the reports that many of the children where seers....and all of a sudden he wished that she would just go away.

Snorting, he shook his head. "Foolish? For what? I don't understand what it is that you want, or what I need patience with. I have much patience, but eluding words and phrases that I don't understand are not going to help me understand you if you do not talk more." His tail twitched behind him, watching her more carefully now. Surely she would react different to the confrontation than of the pouty ways he was trying before.

She blinked at him, surprised. She didn't guess that he would turn...so bitter. She shook her head as she gestured at herself, hoping that he would understand that she was talking about herself. "Not needed." She knew that she could communicate well enough, if he only tried harder. He was too impatient to take an extra moment out of his life to think about what she said. "Think hard."

Her tail swished behind her in response to his, only she was quite joyous. She smiled at him before speaking again.

"Patience. Golden." She was seeing bits and pieces, but nothing definite. "Love. Unseen." He wouldn't be around, but he should know that he would care for him no matter where he was.

Xundao decided to try and take this a little more seriously. Especially so when she mentioned his father. He had been gone for quite a while, before he had even completely hit adulthood. And judging by her age, she would have been too young to realize his family, especially his elusive father. She must See.

He shook his head, chuckling to himself about himself. Foolish. When had he stopped wondering about the world, and started to hate it? He didn't know, but it was something that he needed to remember. Patience indeed.

"How do you know?" he asked, setting aside the matter of the knowledge that awoke his eyes to what he needed to see himself.

Ana giggled again, pleased that she seemed to get through to him just a bit. She tapped towards her eyes before lowering her paws back to the ground again. She leaned forward, almost as if it was a secret. "See." She rolled backwards again, her eyes bright again with joy. "See lots."

She felt like she had done something here, and was quite pleased. Especially when he seemed to finally understand just why she spoke the way she did. It wasn't an impediment, just by choice. He could do all of the talking that she didn't want to do.

She almost turned to leave, but could tell that there was still something bothering him. She cocked her head to the side, curious on what he looked so worried for.

He nodded, dumbfounded on what to say. He felt like he was the idiot here. He shook his mane out, feeling a bit better with a freshened mane. His rosy eyes blinked back at her, almost feeling sad that she seemed finished with him.

Noticing that she was going to leave, he slightly extended a paw towards her. "Wait. Could I get your name? For however young you are, you are interesting company. I would like to speak with you again some time, if you would like." He was intrigued, especially with her abilities.

"I'm Xundao," he said before, saving her the need to ask.

She perked her head up, pleased. "Anahita!" she said with joy, slower than she did most of her other words. She didn't seem to notice this change, but there was no doubt that the now attentive Xundao noticed it. She nodded her head again before skipping off, wanting to let her mother know just how well her day was going. Perhaps they would get something special for dinner as well. Mommy always seemed to know just what she wanted, and Ana knew she didn't have the ability that she had. It was probably just a special mommy trick that Anahita might never find out.
