(A continuation of the RP started here that I am too lazy to fully transcribe right now.)
DivineSaturn Oh dear. Tenryuu was afraid of this. She isn't sure how to explain to someone so young- and using only words no less- but she must try.
"Would you like me to carry Byou?" she offers, thinking they might move faster that way. And also, admittedly, to stall for time. But it's no use; no brilliant ideas strike her, and she really must say something.
Although her voice is soft and trying to be comforting, she cannot think of a soothing way to explain. "This is not Houkoku. It is a place called Gaia. I'm sorry, but I do not know how you came here, nor how to return." Not until Rika's device was repaired, anyway.

Even as she's being asked, Kaya shakes her head. Byou may seem somewhat tame, but then she's been around Kaya enough to know and respect her. "Byou doesn't know you," she replies aloud, "so she doesn't like you."
...This isn't Houkoku!? Distressed, the little girl gives a soft whimper before answering. "There's a mistake. I just came down here to get Byou- she couldn't get out. I'll go back now, I just have to find out how to climb back out." But how is she going do that? She can't even see the hole, anymore.

"I see," Tenryuu replies. The girl's choice of words intrigues her. 'Came down' makes it sound she came voluntarily, into a hole perhaps. Tenryuu briefly wonders if whoever assaulted her and her fellow Dragon Knights then shoved them into a hole that led here... but saves those thoughts for later.
"I would like to take you back, but I'm afraid I can't. There is no way back right now." Tenryuu wishes she could say something else, but nothing comes to her. If she was using mindspeech, it might be easier, but the girl asked her not to. Another mystery.
So she asks, "why did you ask I use words? Are you practicing, maybe?" Tenryuu smiles. "You're already very good."

Does it matter? Byou's hurt! That's what they should be worrying about, not other stuff..but she supposes she can answer anyway. As long as they walk while she does so.
It's a hard topic, though. How is she to explain something she doesn't fully understand? Scowling a bit, Kaya grasps for words for a couple of minutes before answering. "I only like words." It's the best she can come up with, anyway.
"Why can't I go back?"

The answer does nothing to demystify Tenryuu, and she briefly wonders if the child is being purposefully evasive. But she shrugs. If words are what she wants, words are what she'll get.
"Well..." If she were Rika, she'd probably have a technical explanation for it. But she is not the scholar-princess, but a knight, and all she can come up with is "because we don't know how."
Tenryuu sighs. This is not going as well as she would like. "How did you get here? You were following Byou?"

Kaya watches the lady shrug and sigh, and gives herself a mental kick. Why can't she do better at explaining, like somebody normal? She doesn't really like upsetting people, but she really can't help it. She's just bad at socializing.
"But..where's Gaia? There was just this well...with sunshine! And Byou was down here. Her leg.." she trailed off with a shrug, figuring that the rest is self-explanatory.
"Did you fall in too?"

Tenryuu nods, feeling relieved to be getting answers that make sense. She also can't help but be a little bit impressed. "I see. You were very brave, to go down there for Byou."
More questions, ones that Tenryuu cannot properly answer. "Gaia is... is here," she tries to explain, feeling ridiculous even as the words come out of her mouth. "From what I understand, it is a world separate from the Golden World." That's a little better, but she still wishes what she had a better explanation.
"Me?" Tenryuu's mild embarrassment is replaced with rage and shame. Rage that someone could do something like that, and shame that she was unable to prevent it from happening. Despite the fact that she has nearly come to terms with the fact that she is stuck here, the events leading up to her displacement remain a pain that she cannot quite soothe. But her wall remains in place; if she didn't want the child to feel her before, she certainly doesn't now.
The change in her mood is still evident however; her expression turns stony, her voice heavy with anger. "I cannot say for certain. It was not my choice, however, I assure you."

"She needed me." Kaya doesn't feel very brave- she just had done what needed to be done. And now, she wishes that she had gone and gotten her uncle first- maybe then he could have helped her get Byou out without getting her stranded..here. Gaia. Which is a..different world?
Uh-oh. Cringing at the unpleasant emotion that settles on the lady's face, Kaya wonders what she did wrong now. She had only asked..she didn't do anything wrong! She pouts, glaring at the ground. It isn't fair of the lady to be upset with her. "I don't wanna be here."

Tenryuu pauses, briefly stunned by her words. Then she shakes her head slightly, trying to smile lightheartedly. While forced, the result is at least less frightening. "I know. I'm sorry; I'm not angry with you."
Whatever progress she made she feels she lost. Not that she is terribly concerned with what others think of her, but it would be bad if she scared the girl away. She clearly needs help, and Tenryuu is more than willing to provide it, regardless of the situation.
"I'm sorry if I scared you," she repeats. While tempted to kneel down, to look the girl in the eyes, she feels it's best for them to keep moving. "I am Tenryuu. May I ask your name?" With each word she relaxes more, until it is difficult to tell that she had been upset moments before.

At Tenryuu's sudden change in mood, Kaya narrows her eyes. Either the lady had been acting more angry than she really was, or she was now being more calm and friendly for Kaya's benefit alone- either way, it seems kind of dishonest, and Kaya doesn't like it.
Adjusting the dragon-kitty in her arms, she quickens her step, hoping to arrive at wherever they're going sooner rather than later, so that she can focus on getting Byou better. That's what's important here, after all. But she supposes she can answer Tenryuu's question, at least. "Kaya."

"It is... a pleasure meeting you, Miss Kaya," Tenryuu says politely, after a moment's hesitation. "I mean, I'm quite sorry you're here, when you'd rather be home," and so would she, for that matter. "But I think we will be able to return soon, or at least send messages." So perhaps Kaya was lucky in a way; while torn from her home, she would not have to be stranded for long.
Looking around, Tenryuu nods confidently. "We're nearly there."

Messages? Hmph. She just wants to go back. Messages won't ever be enough. But for now..for now, this would have to do. She'll make the most of the situation, if she's able.
"Where are we going, anyway?" She supposes that that would be a good thing to know. Oh, and.."You said 'Barton'. Is that like Gaia?"

Hadn't she explained already? Perhaps not. Keeping track of details was not one of Tenryuu's strengths. "Some friends of mine have a house nearby. My mother is staying there as well. Though they might all be off at work... but either way, you can rest, and we can see what we need to do for Byou."
And now she is expected to provide a geography lesson as well. Tenryuu sighs, trying to remember what she's learned in her time at the school. "Barton is a town in Gaia," she starts, knowing that much off the top of her head. "There are others, but I am still learning their names and where they are." Since she didn't have much business outside of Barton, she wasn't too worried about it. Maybe sometime she would go exploring, but for the moment she was content, or close enough to it.

"Byou should be okay, I think. S'just that her leg hurts."
Friends...others. While she's relieved that Tenryuu seems capable of a lot of word-talking, she frets a little bit at the prospect of meeting friends that might not have the same capabilities. Biting her lower lip, she hangs back for a moment and looks anxiously to Tenryuu. "Will your friends use..words, too?"

"I'd still rather look it over." While Tenryuu hopes she can do something on her own, she's not a particularly skilled healer, and not that familiar with the anatomy of dragon-cats. "At least, there should be bandages there."
At the further request for words, Tenryuu frowns slightly. She'd really like to know why it's so important... but after taking out her frustrations on the poor girl, she doesn't think pressing the issue is such a great idea. "They can, if you ask them to," she says encouragingly.
"There." They've finally reached their destination, a small group of less than noteworthy houses in various states of repair and reconstruction. She points at one across the road from them, and begins to jog towards it. The sooner they get everything settled, the better.
