The day was absolutely perfect for a picnic. Eilender and Penterino had chosen the spot, gotten out the food and were having a marvelous time watching their young daughter frolicking nearby. The company was boisterous, jovial, and animated enough to make a five season children's show. It was all rather pleasant, save to one who did not enjoy such loud merrymaking.
Mimosa watched her family shrink as she slowly climbed the hill they were settled at the bottom of. Her father had granted her permission, so long as she was nearby, to take her leave and enjoy the quiet nature had to offer. As such she was pleased to find the noise also shrank as she moved higher, almost cresting the hill to find that at its peak stood a good shady spot beneath the sprawling foliage of a tree. A smile played upon her features as she continued for it, stopping only once she'd managed the top to observe the place she'd settled for.

Atop that hill, a young boy with brown skin and minty hair lay nude, stretched comfortably in a very large shady spot. His body was bare, and his boy parts were covered only by the large, long tail that he wrapped around his nether regions. At the bottom of the other side of the hill, the boy's family - well, his two fathers - were seated comfortably, drinking juice and cuddling in the shade of another tree.

Mimosa spotted the boy as soon as she'd made it around the one side of the tree that best allowed her to see the sky. Blue eyes widened as she realized his lack of attire and the soft rose hues of blush rose to her features. She didn't inherently know why it embarrassed her but it did and she averted her gaze as she sat a little ways from him. Not understanding her sentiments she felt inclined to at least be tolerant of his leisure and took her own. Quiet curiosity caused her to glance back at him, as though silently inquiring as to why he was without clothes.

Shylock glanced over as he spotted the girl. Well, at least she wasn't demanding activity of him or freaking out, despite the fact that she was blushing on seeing him. Feeling sociable, the mint haired child waved. "Lo."

Turning at the sound of his voice she offered a smile to him, tail languidly tracing the grass beneath her. ". . .Hello. . ." she murmured softly, saying little else as she averted her intent stare to the sky above.
The pallid blue expanse seemed to be broken by numerous clouds today, sculpted by the errant breezes that caused the satin magenta of her attire to ripple as the tendrils of air whispered through the boughs of the large tree. It nearly formed words but found its communication barrier, leaving her only to wonder at it and what it would say if it could, perhaps through the way the clouds took shape before her.
Mimosa couldn't help but wonder if he noticed the same thing, and flicked the tip of her plumed tail up towards an oddly formed cloud, murmuring softly, ". . .Dragon."

Shylock stared up at it through the branches of the tree before sitting up and turning around so he could see it. A long and slow inspection of the cloud indicated that indeed, it was shaped like a dragon. Nodding his head a bit, he looked at some of the others before pointing at one in particular. "Turtle."

Pleased he had caught onto her game, Mimosa began surveying the clouds, noting the one he'd motioned. Agreeing it did in fact look like a turtle she confirmed it softly, making her own revision as the wind shifted it, ". . .Two-headed turtle. . ."
Turning her attentions away from that particular cloud she found another of interest. The fluffy white tendrils swayed elegantly behind the puffy mass, a wisp rolling off of the top and just below her, leading to her conclusion ". . .Goldfish."

Shylock nodded at both of those before spotting a rather odd looking little one. The way it massed out, it'd have been a rabbit, were it not for the long seeming tail with the point on it and the little bloblike horns. "Demon bunny." he commented, stretching a bit and noticing another, "Pirate ship."

The mention of a pirate ship caused her to begin daydreaming a bit as she nodded, coming up with a story about it to pass the time. " . . .Chasing the goldfish, with the dragon. Demon bunny is the master of the clouds though, so he's making the wind help the goldfish escape."

"Kay." Shylock commented idly, nodding. "And the turtle's just stuck in the way?" Honestly, he wasn't in the mood to try to make any coherent sense out of what she'd just said, so he just went with it. Hey, it was fine by him if the clouds had a little storyline going with them and she picked up on it.

Not having figured that far in, she shrugged and let it well enough alone as the wind shifted the massive white wisps. Deciding it wasn't worth pursuing, she motioned to another cloud. Feeling particularly lazy with trying to reason it, she murmured, "Cotton candy. . ."

Shylock started at it for a while, watching as the wind blew part of it away. "Upside down clown in a party hat." the boy replied, nodding softly. "S'your name?" he inquired idly.

That one caused a smile to play upon her features as she imagined such a thing. The boy had just as big an imagination as she, it seemed. Her musing was interrupted by the soft inquiry, to which she replied, ". . .Mimosa." As to his own name, she simply reasoned he'd give it in return anyway, and thus didn't bother asking about it. Rather, she pointed to another cloud. ". . .Bird."
