 A white cervitaur walked along the edge of the forest, taking care to keep her hooves clean. She sighed, tucking her hair behind her ear, yearning for something to do. It was quite boring, living alone in solitude. She yearned for company of another so long as they were not violent. Out of sheer boredom, Irissë twirled around gracefully, her arms held out like a ballerina.

 Aubrey was wandering the forest with a large, woven basket that was half filled with different kinds of plants. He walked slowly, his creamy eyes narrowed as he inspected the surrounding foilage.
When he stood up from his latest inspection, he froze as he saw movement through the trees. He walked forward cautiously, a smile quickly gracing his face when he saw who it was. "Irisse!" He called as he stepped through the tree line and into the field in front of the pale cervitauress. Was she dancing? He held back, the back end of his body hidden within the trees. "Sorry, am I intruding on anything?"

Startled, the cervitaur let out a soft scream, turning quickly to face Aubrey. "Wh-where did you come from?!" she demanded, her face a bright pink. Irissë was shy about dancing in front of others, feeling embarrassed that Aubrey had probably watched her dance. Oh, how was she ever going to show her face to him again? She nibbled her bottom lip, still blushing.

Aubrey's head sunk quickly between his shoulders, one of his hooves kicking bashfully at the ground. "I saw something move. I came to look and it was you. I didn't mean to scare you, my deepest apologies." He wrung the basket handle with both hands, feeling silly. He didn't realize she was embarassed from her worry over her dancing.

"It's alright..." her ears drooped down, "I'm sorry if I sounded mean..." she felt guilty springing onto him like that. "I-I was dancing..." looking at her hooves she continued, "I don't really like to dance in front of others. That's all." Irissë clutched at the cloth on her chest, smiling slightly. "It's been a while, huh?"

Aubrey pulled his head back up and smiled brightly. "No problem then! As soon as I saw it was you I came out. Didn't see much at all. I wouldn't spy on you." He said with a nod.
He looked at the clouds a moment, counted in his head, then looked back at Irisse. "Yes, it has. Too long to be absent of your presence in my opinion." He said, inclining his head in a small bow, the grip on his basket relaxing.

Irissë's smile widened, "It was stupid of me to think that you of all people would spy on me." she pushed her bangs back, walking over to him. "I think its the other way around. I've missed your sense of humor."
"What's in that basket of yours?" the female tilted her head, motioning to it.

Aubrey grinned and gave another bow. "I appreciate your confidence in my morals." He blinked, head tilting shyly. "My sense of humor? Who knew?"
Looking down at his basket, he paused as if he had forgotten why he had it. Then his face popped up with an excited grin. "Do you remember I said I like baking? Well, I've been looking around for new herbs and ingredients to make my food more interesting." He picked out a small stalk with pointed leaves that were a faintly yellowgreen color. "Smell this!" He gave one of the leaves a squeeze and held it out for Irisse. The crushed leaf gave off a sweet yet tangy scent.

"Oh yes! I do remember!" Irissë looked at him with interest, "I would like to try these new foods." she took the plant, twirling it gently inbetween her fingers, sniffing them. "Oh. It smells wonderful! I can feel my mouth water." holding it out she examined it, playing with the leaves, "What kind of plant is this?"

Aubrey scratched at his neck with a bashful smirk. "Actually, I don't know what it is. It doesn't look dangerous, and it smells great." He pulled his head higher. "Well, I think I'll be trying for another apple pie today. The flavor of that leaf screams apple accent to me. ....Would you like to come help me make it?"

"Oh! I would love to!" her violet eyes lighted up, "I'm not that much a great cook, but I can certainly help." Irissë handed the plant back to Aubrey. "I've been dying to try your apple pie."

The centaur threw back his head in a hearty laugh. "I hate to keep you waiting then!" He said happily, holding out his arm for Irisse to take. "If we keep a brisk pace, we should reach my kitchen right before the evening. I'd love for you to help. I've always done it on my own. It'll be nice for a change."

"Evening?" she asked, taking his arm, "That's quite the distance. We should move quickly then." Irissë smiled, "Well then. Maybe I'll have to help you more often."

Aubrey nodded, starting them off at a pace a little faster than 'brisk.' "As long as you're a good helper, you may help as much as you like." He said with a light tease in his voice. "We could make a lot of things together I bet." His voice was hopeful, eager for the company of someone as sweet as Irisse.

Irissë trotted to keep up with Aubrey's long strides, "Oh. I will help! Maybe we will be able to open up that tavern!" she blushed, "Then maybe...maybe I could dance for the people there."
