Well, I kinda slept in Band today. My Story: Today, instead having our BD we had another BD to conduct our class today. Whenever he picks on brass (75% of the time) I leaned on my stand and tried to sleep. Because i was soooo tierd...and Band is like 1 and 1/2 hours long..and it was going slow. But, the funny thing was..that i hit the corner of my eye with my band binder ring accidently and did a doubletake. Because of this my whole row started to laugh. But, the BD didnt catch me. so it was all good.
Total sleep: 3 mins.
Do you have any stories?

So we had a sub and I hadn't gotten any sleep for a week, so we had free practice and I fell asleep. People were laughing, especially because the saxophones were trying to wake me up.

I slept for almost 10 minutes the other day while playing Star Wars. No one could tell I was sleeping because I slept with my eyes open and it was during a long rest. ^_^
~~~~~~~~ Nap time. That's what rests are for! =D
I've never fallen asleep but one day someone in my section did. The BD knew they were too so they went up behind him with the crash symbols and crashed them right behind his head.
That's what class was for at band camp! We had to get up earlier than everyone else, at 5:30, and stayed up later than everyone else, so when we had individuals (and occasionally sectionals, depending on your section head) we would sleep. The rooms didn't have windows and were soundproof, so it was the perfect place! There were also people who would sleep in full rehearsal. We were very sleep deprived at the end of the six weeks.
NO..cause there is 12 people in our class and trust me when you have a huge room, and 12 people in it you can 't get away with ANYTHING since there isn't as many people to watch out for. It really sucks. But is fun cause when you tell someone else that is in band that you only have 12 band members in your class there eyes get huge cause they have about 60....that's the average amount in all the rest of the classes.
I fall asleep all the time. When we were prcticing our solos for Solo Ensumble we had to do this lullaby thing. After it's my turn(I'm 4th chair) I usually jut rest my head. We have 21 ppl in our flute class so it takes all period for everyone to do their solo. So for the past 2-3 weeks we've been practicing I always take a nap after my turn. Ppl call it my kitty nap...but @ the end of class i usually end up w/ a dropped flute. Or the teacher waking me up by someone playing the nasty F or something.... xp crying
