Len crouched down behind the brush. His mouth watering with thick saliva as he eyed the boar. So plump, muscly. Delicious and appetizing. He kept a vigilant gaze, making sure not to make a single noise. Dinner was almost under his teeth... so close... Just let the boar wonder that much closer and he'd strike.....

The young female crept closer and closer. Not to long has she been away from her birth pack and out on her own. Not to long has been forced to hunt alone, with out the help of a pack. Not to long has she even hunted. She has watched her mother, her older sisters, aunts, uncles. She has watched them hunt many of times. They have have made it seem so easy. But yet, in reality, it was so hard. To hard for Avalette. She continued on though, creeping forward in the tall thicket slowly. Carefully. Her breathing fast with panic. She has not eaten in a few suns, and it was starting to get to her. Just a little closer, she thought softly. Her ears darted back at the sound of the twin snapping under her paw. Her gaze darted to her paw, before it fell upon the bore. It had taken off. Should she chase? No. She stood up watching her meal run off in terror.

"No!" Len growled, leaping from his bush to try and snag the boar, maybe injure it. No luck. It was gone with nothing but a scratched leg, maybe bruised. "Damn it!" he cursed again, narrowing his eyes in the direction the animal had fled. Then they fell upon the girl, becoming not in the least bit softer. "You. What did you think you were doing?" he bellowed at her, the pain in his stomach curling.

Avalette had not noticed the male. Her eyes to focus on the bore that was zooming off. But at the bellow of the male, it caused her heart to skip a beat. Her body jumped slightly. All four paws lifting off the ground turning her to face the male. Her ears turned to lay back against her skull. A soft whimper appearing from her voice, tail tucking under her body. "Please forgive me. I was only trying to find a meal." She said softly. Her voice, it was so calm, loving, with a slight tone of fear, deep with in. It was very clear this female was still young. Very young.

His expression faulted, shifting to shock for a moment, then it went hard again. "Then find one for your self, and not steal- or in this case scare off someone elses!" he growled some, puffing out his chest and narrowing his eyes. He was good at intimidation but it seemed with this girl, that didn't take much effort. He eyed her better, taking in her scent discretely. She smelled.. well.. good. Yes. Good. Hmph.

"I was not aware that another was in fact hunting the same game." She said softly looking down to her paws. "Forgive me. I am new to these lands. I have just left my birth back not to many suns ago." She said softly backing away slowly. Her head was dipped low in respect to the older male. "Please forgive me." She pleaded and looked up to him slightly. "I just don't know my way around." She looked back down. Thoughts filled her mind. This male, he was handsome, but she could tell her thoughts where misplaced. He was an alpha and shew as not yet even an adult.

Len clenched his jaw, finding it difficult not to attempt to ease or clam her. He chastised himself for it, forcing himself to turn around. Not even look at her. "Well that's no excuse. That boar would have ripped you to piece." He said coldly, 'hmphing' at the end. "You should never go after a boar unless you are highly skilled-" he looked over his shoulder. "And strong." she was small and petite. Surely that boars tusks would have brought her to the brink of death if she didn't manage to get away before hand.

She frowned deeply at the comment of her weakness. "I might be small, but that does not mean I am not strong." She commented but did not raise her head. "My family, we come from another place. We hunted different things." She said raising her head softly. "I have never seen an animal of such nature. So I'm not to be expected to know of such things." She said but kept her eyes down. "I am sorry. I shall leave you be then." Slowly Avalett's paws started to move backward. Moving her very slowly away from the male. "I just, I've been looking for a new land to call home." She noted.

Len snorted and rolled his eyes dramatically, his head rolling with them. "Foolish child. You wont survive long with out some one to look after you..." he let his thoughts wander for just a moment before he wiped them away. He just gotten rid of Starla, and Ark took care of Victoria most of the time. But maybe... He shook his head and sighed, flopping to the ground with a thud. He crossed his arms and rest his head on top, eyes closed.

"Then maybe..." She stopped moving back looking to the male. "Maybe if you know of someone who can help me." She asked kindly. Her paws moved taking a few steps forward. Moving to the male. "I can learn, and I am willing." She asked hopefully. "I just need a pack." She whimpered softly looking down.

Len opened one eye to look at her. "And I'm supposed to simply take your word for it?" he inquired, closing his eye again. He pretended to not notice her presence but he was aware of everything. Every move she made, every breath she took. He heard it all.

She sighed softly. "You are a mule. That's for sure." She looked to him softly. "How are you suppose to know someone, if you don't bother taking the time to get to know them?" she asked kindly and sat down not to far off. "Please help me?" She asked softly. "What have you got to lose? Honestly." She smiled knowing she had won this battle. Her tail started to say back and forth, in a rather puppy like manner. "My name is Avalette. But most call me Ava for short." She noted softly.

"My nerves, patience, and temper is exactly what I have to loose young lady." Len snapped, his eyes opening to a cold glare. He stood, hunched some. "Did your old family not bother to teach you how to act towards a alpha male? Especially a stranger at that!?" he snapped again, pacing around her. He would whip her into shape, gosh darn it.
"Ava-" he drew her name out with annoyance. "If I were to take you under my wing, you had better believe you'd be required to listening and behave AS a pack adol, correct?" he growled some, stopping in front of her and leaning in close to her face. He wasn't always this harsh, but he was testing her. She'd have to be able to put up with orders and attitude to be in his company.

Her head started to tilt at his comments. Ears flicking lightly as she gave him the cute puppy grin. "Well forgive em. We really did not have alphas in my pack. Really the elders ruled the pack." She said softly and started to licked her paws. Her mind starting to wonder as it often did with young pups. "And what might your name be?" She asked looking back to him with a sweet smile. Clearly his ways and did not effect her all to much.

Len was aghast. Was she senile? Did she not realize he could kill her at any moment? Thought raced through his mind in seconds but his first reaction he let her see was a hearty laugh. He through his head back, chuckling with a rumble in his throat.
"My sweet dear, I am Len." he answered with a smile. He did indeed like this young girl. She would amuse him. Its certainly refreshing not having to deal with a smart mouth. He mused, an image of Starla passing in his mind. He chuckled again.
