((Because I deem that they should meet.))

She was back 'home,' and upon realizing the exact amount of children that were now situated there, Zanna had decided to talk a walk. Eventually, the young adult found herself stretched out in a patch of sunlight in a field somewhere between Durem and Barton. Her spear layed beside her as she watched the sky, taking a break before her planned workout.

For once in a long time, the Amazon was not clad in her robes, but in a comfortable fur skirt and a tied of sort of halter that she usually wore during training. Her stomach was exposed, due to the rare warmth the day seemed to have this late in the fall. Barely peeking out from under her skirt were her throwing knives arranged on their legstrap.

All and all, she was simply relaxing, knees bent somewhat as she layed on her back, wavy hair free to sprawl around her head and shoulders. Zanna had forgotten how simply satisfying it was to be outside without responsibility again, even if it were shortlived.

Itsuki continued to walk down the street in a leisurely pace, his arms folded behind his head. He watched Mat walk ahead looking around curiously, holding his rabbit in his arms. While the boy hadn't been too keen on wandering outside with the newfound teen, his caretaker had insisted, and it was a nice day anyhow.

Mat was enjoying the day as well, preferring the warmer weather in a normally cold part of the year. The town of Durem had been rather boring as of so far, he hadn't seen anyone interesting and the only chance he had to trick Itsuki the boy made it a point to stomp on his foot. He was going to give up on the idea of finding anything interesting when they came upon a small field at the area between the towns.

"Huh... Hey, can we stop there?"

Mat didn't wait for his response, he headed towards the greenery when he first took notice to Zanna. A strange feeling came over the teen as he looked at the young woman. He continued to walk towards her from outside her view, wondering what the vibes meant.
The teen leaned down and held the rabbit infront of her face and asked in a fake voice, "Nice day today, isn't it?"

Itsuki glanced over as Mat wandered away and watched for a few moments before stopping at the edge of the patch of grass. He should be done soon, the boy decided, and didn't bother to venture farther yet.

Zanna felt the feeling even before he, or rather his rabbit, came into sight, and when she suddenly became quite cross-eyed in her attempts to focus on the furry little creature. Eventually, the woman sat up and simply narrowed her eyes at the rabbit before turning them up to rabbit's supposed owner. "Nice enough..."

Out of habit, her hand went to pull her spear next to her and in her grip. With the creepy feeling he was giving her, it was better to be safe than sorry.

Feeling the presence of another Simu, Zanna turned her gaze towards Itsuki while watching Mat out of the corner of her eye. "Are you two together?" Her voice was not bright or cheery, but it wasn't angry either, just to the point.

Mat pulled his furry friend back to the safety of his arms as he watched Zanna's not-so-cheery response. His eyes did not dismiss the weapon she held as well as the tone of her voice. He wasn't foolish, he could sense her caution and decided not to push her the wrong way.

He looked to the direction she had and smiled, "Actually, there is some distance between us right now, but for this purpose, you could say we are." Mat tried his best to retain the smile, in hopes of assuring that he was no threat, but couldn't shake the strange sensation she brought to him.

Itsuki continued to watch, hoping half-heartedly that the teen wouldn't himself killed or anything. He could see that Zanna wasn't an average woman, but he hadn't noticed the spear until her motion drew his attention to it. Seeing the weapon raised his curiosity, so he decided to walk into the field towards the two, if at least to save the other from possible doom.

The young adult released her spear figuring if any trouble arose, her knives were quite handy. Sitting up entirely, Zanna pushed her loose hair out of her face and examined the teen in front of her. Apparently approving him, the Amazon gave a nod to the grass next to her after a quick glance in Itsuki's direction, "Mmm... My manners, would you like to sit?" She was too comfortable to stand and would much rather be face to face with this new, strange Simu.

"Does your rabbit have a name?" Zanna inquired, now noticing the rabbit more now since it wasn't in her face, and since she very much adored animals. In fact, the little creature may have distracted her momentarily from her irritation of being interrupted. For a while at least.

She still couldn't seem to shake the feeling she was getting around him, as if she knew him intimately, but she knew damn well that she didn't, having decided that she was quite through with males and intimacy for a while.

Pleased with her decision to continue on friendly terms, Mat sat happily beside her. He picked up the creature in question from out of his lap and wiggled him gently in order to flap his ears. "Oh yes. His name is Lapaki." He couldn't help but smile upon talking about his pet, enjoying it when others were interested in his little friend.

Mat noticed her attention and took it as a good sign. "Would you like to hold him?" He offered the rabbit to her, hoping to stay in a good relationship with the woman. It wasn't just his normal habit of making friends, it was the way something compelled him towards her that pushed him on. He wasn't sure what it meant, but was sure the best way to find out would be to stay with her right now.

By the time Itsuki had made his way over, the teen had already sat down and was displaying his cottonball with ears. He hadn't time to register the situation as friendly, the appearance of Zanna had completely thrown him off guard. The boy was far more impressed than Mat had been, due to her being a woman of such toned and active nature. The weapons did not elude his eyes either, and he found himself overwhelmed. He had never seen anyone who looked more like a serious fighter, let alone a female, so it was natural for him to become overtaken suddenly. "Er... S-sorry, is my friend bothering you?"

Zanna raised an eyebrow when he physically shook his pet just to make its ears flop around, but nodded and carefully took the rabbit from his hands and scritching behind one of its floppy ears absently. "He's quite beautiful... For a male." As long as the cottonball didn't relieve itself on her...

Turning her attention to the younger Simu when he spoke, Zanna glanced back to Mat briefly before returning her attention to Itsuki, "Not yet." The Amazon seemed amused at the child's stuttering, but decided not to mention it at that moment. Maybe later.

She soon noticed the other glancing to her weapons and smirking slightly, but with the rabbit currently occupying her hands, Zanna made no move towards them. Instead, she motioned towards the grass on the side of her that did not contain her spear, "You too can sit if you'd like."

Mat watched Itsuki with amusement, finding it hard to believe that the boy who carried himself as cold and superior before was perhaps nervous in the presence of this woman. He had to admit that it wasn't completely unfounded, but Mat found himself not fearful of her at all. He attributed it to the feeling he got of having known her before, so it remained off his mind. Instead, he happily observed her handling the rabbit.

Itsuki took the offer and carefully sat down on the grass. While it seemed the other had completely given himself into happiness, the boy kept himself alert. She looked older than them both, as well as obviously stronger, but it wasn't that he was fearful as much as uneasy. He had also noted the familiar signal coming from her and used that as a tool for conversation, "... You're one of us, aren't you? ... From that shop?"

"Through the Looking Glass? And yes, we are all Simulacra." Zanna nodded as she responded, looking between the two, but mostly at the one who had asked her the question, "I came from a mirror, one of the first two sold." Why she had just offered that sort of information she did not know, but it seemed like something that was okay to say.

Suddenly something clicked in her mind and Zanna turned sharply to look at Mat sharply and almost accusingly. "You came from a necklace didn't you?"

Of course! Why hadn't she thought of it before? Though she didn't quite believe that she of all Simu needed a companion. In fact, the Amazon was sure that she was much older than him, but in the end, couldn't shake off the feeling he gave her. "You feel it too...?" Like hell she was going to describe what she had been and still was feeling, that would be creepy and un-Zanna-like, but it seemed very consistant with the feeling Adrian described him having between him and his charge.

Deep purple eyes drilled into Mat as if reevalutating him and the situation, rabbit gone forgotten for the moment on her lap and before long, the older Simu had turned her eyes on Itsuki, "You must tell me about the necklace." This guy really didn't seem to be any type of Greek whatsoever. Neither did.

Itsuki was glad to hear that she was, indeed, another Simu and was surprised at just how much longer she had been around compared to them. As long as she was one of them, she couldn't be too bad at all, he decided. The boy was about to offer information of his own when suddenly snapped at the teen.

How did she know that Mat had came from a necklace? Itsuki wasn't able to tell with others, only did she realize that with Urahara... Ah, is that it then? The boy looked to Mat as well, starting to follow on the same train of thought at Zanna. No wonder he had made it a point to stop here...

Mat's smile fell at Zanna's question and he watched her with analyzing eyes. She knew about the object he came from? It was at the next comment that made his eyes widen. Feel it? ...So, she was having these strange feelings, too. Mat continued to watch her carefully, trying to decphier what exactly it all meant. All he was getting from the situation was the pulling sensation towards the young woman. His eyes then ventured towards Itsuki, who seemed to be understanding things as well as the woman. Mat didn't like not knowing what was going on, "Just what does this mean?"

Itsuki turned his gaze back to Zanna when she addressed him. Knowing what she was going through right now, the boy nodded. "It's a shell necklace," he pulled the object in question out of his shirt and off his neck completely, holding it to her, "it looks normal enough, but it was acting weird during the cruise rescue mission. I think it kept me from getting seasick."

After giving the woman another evaluating glance, Itsuki couldn't see just what Mat had in common with her. Though, he admitted, Ura didn't have anything in common with himself either.

The Amazon paid no attention to how confused Mat seemed to be, and simply gave him a less than explanitory explanation, "We're connected." As if that wasn't obvious enough already.

Her eyes remained on Itsuki when he took the necklace off, gaze being captured by it almost immediately. Familiarity tingled through her, but she brushed it off while reaching for said necklace, taking it carefully in her hand as she examined it closer. Absently, her free hand went to trail along the purple markings across her stomach, the part of her she didn't understand. Penthesilea never had markings or tattoos, much less ones like this, and Zanna knew they weren't Greek in style.

They reminded her of Elijah actually. Frowning deeply at the thought, the young adult closed her eyes briefly before handing the necklace back to Itsuki.

She stayed silent for a while, deciding what should be done or said about this boy being her companion, among other things. With a deep sigh, the Simu looked between the pair, "May as well tell you who I am then... My name is Zanna, and I'm an Amazon."

Zanna made sure to leave out the queen part of it all, after all it wasn't known to anyone but herself and Adrian. Why she was trusting him with such information was still beyond her understanding. "Though I think there's more to my past than just that... Obviously..." She murmered the last word, brow furrowed in thought for a moment before eyeing Mat, "Do you understand?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 07, 2005 12:04 pm

Itsuki took the necklace back when she handed it to him and slipped it back around his neck. He carefully observed her motions and was relieved when she finally introduced herself. Although he couldn't quite figure out what an Amazon was, it sounded powerful enough and that's all that mattered to him. "My name is Itsuki," he offered, not really knowing anymore about himself than at. The boy then turned to the teen to watch his response.

Mat was still trying to digest the situation. Upon seeing Zanna holding his necklace in such a careful manner and her statement, it was making him think deeper than he normally chose to. Her introduction didn't quite ring any bells, but he knew he should hold onto that last bit of information for later. "Zanna? Nice name. Mine's Matareka. I can't say that I remember anything before I came here."

His eyes fell to Zanna's markings, but he said nothing about them, though he felt as if they held some purpose. After a moment, the teen returned to his normal smile as he regarded the woman, "Well, as long as we're connected then I guess that means we should be friends." Mat nodded in affirmation of his own comment and continued, "Then maybe we'll eventually see just what this connection means, right?"

"Pleasure." The woman said while curiously watching Mat, and she decided that he looked funnier when he was trying to think. "Matareka." She repeated before smiling only slightly, genuine smiles being a rare thing for her. Usually she smirked, or made some other face of the same type. "And most don't remember anything at first, and even then..." she trailed off, "Hmm... It's complicated."

Itsuki sounded familiar as well, but a different type of familiar, "You are Ura's charge yes?" This made her realize how long it had been since she had seen or spoken to her ally. Maybe he had become less of a wimp since she was gone in Greece. One could only hope as much.

It was Mat's next question that caused Zanna to raise an eyebrow, "As long as you don't irritate me too much, then yes... we should." This other Simu seemed to be quite optimistic, and the Amazon didn't know if this annoyed her or gained him respect. She'd decide this later. "Eventually." The Simu mused before turning her attention back to the rabbit in her lap, playing with his ears absently.

Itsuki was surprised by Zanna saying that name, let alone knowing him and their relationship. Just mentioning his companion made the boy a little sad, knowing he hadn't seen Urahara in forever. However, he tried not to show it and made it a point to find his companion when he got the chance. "Yeah, that's me," he answered finally and watched the interaction between the other two.

"Is that right?" Mat thought on it a moment as well, "It's probably for the better, eh? Stuff like that shouldn't be rushed or worried about, really." He waved his hand in dismissal for emphasis. "If we figure out some things along the way, that's alright but otherwise, it doesn't matter to me."

He couldn't help but grin at the idea of being annoying to Zanna. Of course, this was his specialty and to say he wouldn't bother her would be completely out of the question. Though, he didn't want to run off this special friend. "Not... too much," Mat promised with a smirk. These terms were good enough for him, so he was content on happily watching the Amazon occupy her time with Lapaki.

"Depends on who you were," She said, surprised that he cared very little about knowing who he used to be, but soon just sighed and shook her head. "It probably should." At least she took her past seriously, considering that she was an important Amazon that was somehow connected to this... special person.

Somehow she believed that he would definately try to annoy her as much as possible, and she would not stand for it either. Zanna debated threatening the bunny, but decided that she shouldn't hurt the innocent of it all. "Too much? I will warn you how precise I am with all my weapons. Take that how you will." Raising her eyebrow, Zanna caught his eyes to make sure he got her messege.

With a warning given, the Simu didn't feel bad about tossing a few sharp objects in his general direction.

"Though if you'd like to annoy someone, I can offer Adrian to you." Zanna grinned sadistically while stretching her legs out in front of her, between the two boys.

The strong connection between her and Mat was starting to irritate her for the sole reason that it continually reminded her of Elijah, and she didn't quite want to think of him. However, the feeling was quite nice, which annoyed her even more. Stupid bloody connection. Maybe it'd go away now that they knew of eachother? "What do you make of the weird feeling?" she asked, voice straining a little.
