Valiant had been running a great while. Fresh blood was soaking through her tunic where she had been scratched with a poison dart. Her vision stream in streaks of color outlined in grey. Her hand held her lower stomach to keep the blood flow at bay. She should stop, her common since was telling her too... but everything in her was screaming to run, to get away, to find safety.
The bare of her flesh was showing through the tunic, letting you see the ripped stitches, even though her frantic hands were trying to hide every bit of her flesh. Blood was also in another spot, though dried, it was on the legs of her pants, just between the legs.
Tears fell down her cheeks freely, it was as though she could not stop the cascade of tears though she tried.
All that she could see of her surroundings were trees, but even those were shaky. She was slower then usual due to her lack of vision.
It just didn't help she had eyes full of tears and was fading in and out of consciousness.
"Run, Run valiant, get away, find safety."
her voice rambled quite raspy from screaming.

Raco was back on duty again for the night, he'd been basically tricked into taking the late night shift when he always had the mid-day, but there was no waste in taking care to make sure everything was calm. Little did he know that tonight would be anything but that.

The smokey colored Mau edged along the outskirts of the trees his brilliant eyes watching for anything out of the ordinary. Night was the most likely time for anything to happen as it was, and he wasn't about to let some cat from another territory get into his.

But something caught Raco's attention and he snapped immediately into a stance ready to fight. But the slight figure headed his way immediately struck his as familiar, the blond hair and lack of tail...Valiant. He could tell something was wrong by the way she was running and held herself. Worry struck through the much larger cat, something had happened, but what?

Vals breath came raspy and she felt herself growing tired in a millisecond. The adrenaline was wearing off. Then she saw him, for a brief moment he had the face of her attacker, and she stifled a scream.
But then she forced herself to see what was really there. Raco.
Her mind screamed safe as she ran to him, but cautioned her as she got a bit closer. Then as the blood flow sped up and dripped though her hands she decided there was no time left. As she drew close enough she half leaned half fell into Raco. Her vision barely taking in her hands as they made fresh prints in his blood red shirt.
"im sorry." she mumbled before completely falling the heavy spell of sleep.

Raco grabbed onto the weaked manx just as she collapsed into his arms. He could see and smell the blood, he clothing was torn, she was injured and badly. His pulse quickened, who the hell would have done this to her, he questioned to himself. But there was no time at the moment to worry about her attacker, with the blood she was losing Val could lose her life.

Raco lifted his head and let out a loud high-pitched whistle, and immediately cats appeared in the trees around him. "Stand Guard!" he yelled out to them as he picked Valiant up into a better hold. "I have an injured one here. I'm taking 'er back to the camp. Let no one in, absolutely no one." he called out and he took off at full speed back to the camp.
~~~
Back at the camp Raco was taken over by one of the medical cats who helped him bring Valiant to a soft spot where she could be properly looked over.
"S'e's been badly injured." he said graved looking down at the intense wounds. "I'll get t'e son of a bitc' w'o did t'is."
Valiant was swimming in color, and then she came to. The numbness was gone and a searing pain shot across the lower half of her torso. Looking down she saw white cloth binding her body. So much dried blood scared her, but at least it could account for the lightheadedness she was feeling.
What had happened? she questioned herself, but when she remembered she wished she had remained ignorant.
She had been raped, and nearly killed, twice.
Tears slowly leaked from her eyes as she tried to curl up into a ball, wincing as the bandages touched her wound.
Should a warrior be so pathetic? She questioned herself when she stretched and nearly screamed. Her muscles were bunched up and her body felt like it had needles sicking through it, how long had she been out?
Fear prickled her spine as she finally questioned her surroundings. Where was she? and how did she get here? Panic filled her mind, she could not remember the last moments before passing out.
Not far off from Valiant Raco was keeping watch over her singing a song of old to himself just loud enough for his words to reach Valiant...
"O môr henion i dhû:
Ely siriar, êl síla.
Ai! Aníron Undómiel.
Tiro! Él eria e môr.
I 'lîr en êl luitha 'úren.
Ai! Aníron... ""
When he saw Valiant stir he stood and made his way towards her slowly. "Valiant." he called out to her. "May I get you anyt'ing?" he asked leaning over by her putting a hand on her shoulder. "You are safe 'ere wit' us." he said nodding his head. The Anbu and himself would put her under their protection, this is why they were her, to keep events such as these from occurring. Raco's eyes shown with his sincerity and even the worry that was there, he may not have been close with the manx, but he hated injustice.
Valiant shook her head no and curled up into a ball, biting her cheek to keep from screaming.
She winced as he but his hand on her shoulder and tried to remain calm.
The words of her old language had calmed her a bit, but she found she could not talk. She simply could not form the words that jumbled in her mind. And much to her dismay she didn't want to.
Tears poured heavily from her closed eyelids as she thought of remi. There was no way he would ever care about her now. Her life, her life was changed drastically, and she wanted her innocence back.
A high pitched whimpering caught her attention, and she folded her hands over her ears, when she still heard it she realized it was herself.
Raco shook his head. "You need to uncurl yourself t'ere. You will make t'e blood flow again." he said attempting to carefully pry Valiant out of her fetal position. "We 'ad enough trouble last nig't getting t'e blood to stop." he said with a sigh. He was not going to leave Valiant like this and one way or another he would soon learn what had happened to her.
The tears came Raco again gave a heavy sigh. He felt badly for the poor girl, she was so young and whatever had happened to her last night had badly scarred her he knew for life. But still he could not get the image of her covered in blood out of his mind. He sat down next to her and pulled out his own flute and started up a soft, sweet melody that he had not played in a very long time.
A few of the Anbu who were around all perked their ears and looked over in surprise. They had often heard Raco play, but never quite like this.
Valiant slowly uncurled herself as she heard him play. Gradually the whimpering stopped as she listened. She rolled over looking at him. Her shadowed eyes seemed to bore into him.
He was playing a song she vaguely recognised.
home, her mind clarified for her as she pondered this.
Val lifted a hand to brush her white blond bangs from her eyes. She felt herself scanning the room, looking for something, but she couldn't remember what. A frown creased her forehead as she thought. Her voice didn't seem to work, though it itched to sing with the flute music.
He had found her weakness.
Once the song was finished Raco lowered the flute and gave one of his half smiles to Valiant. "T'ere, I am sure t'at 'elped no didn't it?" he asked. He tucked the miniature flute back into his shirt and crossed his arms.
"Now, are you sure t'ere is not'ing I can get you? I am sure it 'as been a w'ile since you ate somet'ing." he said bored down on Valiant flicking his tail, he wouldn't stop questioning her until she finally gave in. She needed food in her to help her regain her strength, especially after he blood loss. She would be stuck under his watchful eye until he was satisfied with her recovery which no one knew how long that would be.
Just as well Raco was determined to find out who had done this to Valiant, but even he knew from experience that now was not the time to question her about that.
Valiants eyes got distant again as she shook her head no.
She rested back with her back flesh with the bed. Her eyes found her leather satchel that was put beside the bed. She reached over and pulled it up next to her. From that small movement her head swam again.
Delicately she opened her bag and pulled out her glass short swords, but for some reason she didn't want them, digging further she found her journal and a pen.
She grabbed her flute that was threatening to roll out of the bag and stuffed it further in fallowed by her swords.
Quickly she scrawled on the bottom of her page...
teach me.
Raco took the journal from her and read the very direct message and frowned. He gave her back the journal and thought for a few moments. That was a particularly large request from her, he had trained a good number of the Anbu here in the wood with them.
"T'is is not somet'ing to be taken lig'tly Valiant." he said heavily, his face shadowed over by his long bangs. "Training wit' us is...needless to say, extremely intense, many quickly give up on t'e training wit'in the first day." he shifted slightly. He did not want to have to teach Valiant his way of fighting, and even then, there were many things he could not teach her, the Konouichi would have to teach her what he could not.
"But...if you are absolutely positive..."
she scribbled on the paper once more.
You dont think I'm strong enough.
her eyes were extremely guarded, but leaked a few glimpses of emotion. She was frustrated, hurt he would think that, but under laying it all was a fixed determination.
She tossed the book onto his lap and looked away.
Yes she knew it would be hard, but then she was not like most females either. Now she had to learn. She had the mistake of being good at the mansion, but here she wanted to be great.
The last shadow of who she had once been left her eyes as she sought a new focus in life.
Raco let off a soft hiss of warning. "T'at is not w'at I said. I was merely asking you to be sure. T'is is not a decision to take lightly." he said remembering accepting Youko's inviation to join, he had thought it would have been easy, but even for him who was well versed in fighting had got through a lot of trouble keeping up.
He tapped his fingers on his knee for a moment thinking. "If you train wit' us, then you follow by our rules, our ways, and you will become and Anbu." he said looking at Val with a very stern face. "If you accept this, you can not c'ange your mind." he said nearly staring the poor girl down. But he had to get across how serious it really was to attempt this training. Even so she would have to wait and be cleared by the medics that she was fit to train as it were.
He handed back the journal waiting for her reply.
she took the journal looking rather depressed..
dont you understand it's what I want?
she took a deep breath and forced herself to meet his eyes, and thanked herself inwardly she did not flinch.
Valiant knew she had to tell him what happened, but she also knew she did not want anyone else to know.
She was soiled enough as it was.
So before she handed him the journal back she scribbled something else.
If I tell you what happened, do you swear by your honor you will not repeat it with out my consent?
She leaned over and gently put it down on his lap, no longer able to meet his eyes. Valiant flinched with the idea he would be sickened by her existence like he was with roxy.
