Her name was Kitandiko and she had been the one who tried to save him when his plan went poorly. She was a member of his pride and a young lioness that Kobe thought fondly of since their first meeting. She seemed so fearful of the water and tried so hard to convince the boy that he would have more fun thinking up games in the safety of the beach. While he appreciated her concern, he couldn't neglect his growing admiration towards the big water. Although the cub wanted to find his new friend to play with again, he knew she didn't want to have anything to do with his plan.
Running out towards the moist sand, the cub eagerly brought his large, flat piece of wood along with him. It had since dried from his first encounter and was ready for a second try! As the spotted cub ran along the beach he spotted a familiar white cub playing nearby. In excitement a grin spread across the cub's face and be began towards her. Her was about to shout her name when he paused and bit his tongue. Ziba had been in a similar situation that he had recently found himself in. She had wandered into the waves and almost drowned! If it wasn't for his mother's help they might have lost her beneath the waves.
Kobe faught with himself mentally. He hadn't played with Ziba much recently and playing with others was almost so much more fun than playing by himself. He looked towards the board and frowned. He had really hoped to try out his idea again! With a shake of his head, she set down the wood and continued to run towards the fire tailed female cub.

Watching the waves go in and out, Ziba would paw at them playfully when they got close. Right now she was being quite, weighed down by the latest conversation with her mother. As much as she wanted to play and have fun, right now she couldn't. At least, not by herself.
The ocean drowned out any sound of her approaching cousin, just leaving the little cub to her play, tail twitching behind her.

Kobe continued to run forward, sending sand flying in his excitement. Once he was able to get a better look at what his cousin was doing he realised that she hadn't heard him approaching. With a shift in his game plan, Kobe slowed his pace and made his steps quieter. She seemed so peaceful on the beach, simply pawing at the waves. Kobe almost felt bad for what he was about to do! Being the eternally optimistic cub, however, Kobe decided that no harm would come from a simple game. Judging exactly how far she was, the cub grinned wildly and then ran towards her at full speed. He wasn't able to run as smoothly as he would have liked because of the sand so he was certain Ziba noticed before he got to her. Despite this, once he was only a foot away, the cub lept into the air with the intent to tackle the pale female. Wrestling was always a favorite of Kobe's!

It wasn't until she heard the shifting sand so close to her that he silver eyed cub turned to see the cause. Seeing her cousin flying at her, she didn't have a chance to get away. Within a moment, his body collided with hers and she could barely let out a squeak.
Her surprise lasted only as long as it took for her back to hit the sand before her sinewy body twisted and she gave a playful growl. He was real and she was all too eager to play and to try and get the upper paw.

Kobe was surprised to see that until the end, Ziba hadn't noticed his presense. He beamed with pride at the thought of being such a silent predator. His father had taught him well! Once he landed onto the pale colored female, the pair went tumbling into the beach. Sand flew about them as the two cubs struggled to gain dominance over one another. Ziba's playful growl caused the male to let out a triumphant laugh. Ziba was actually one of the larger females in his family so he was always proud when he could get the upperhand while playing with her.
As the two continued to roll about they neared a small hill in the sand. Without warning, the pair went tumbling down. Kobe couldn't hold onto the female, but laughed anyways until he landed with a thud at the bottom. The hill was small, but it sent such a shock of adrenaline through the cub's veins! This was actually a lot like his idea he had earlier. While he was hesitant to play in the waves with his cousin, perhaps this was a game the two of them could enjoy. "Hey Ziba!" He called out, hoping to distract her long enough to avoid being tackled.

Ziba kept up her growl as they tumbled, having a blast playing around. Among her siblings, she was treated like she was breakable. With her twin protected her and tolerated her play fighting when she tried; the rest of her siblings were less likely to play with her like that because of her Momma and twin.
Her cousins were all too eager to play and she was enjoying every moment of it. Hitting the ground at the bottom of the sand hill, the cub was quick to roll over and lunge, attempting to tackle him, she went to nom on his ear with now intent to use her teeth to harm. "Hi!"

Once Kobe had spoken he looked over towards the small hill they tumbled down. Glancing around it he noticed that there were quite a few other hills nearby and that some of them were much taller! As he brainstormed ideas he failed to notice Ziba come falling down with the full intent to land on him. As he tumbled into him, the pair went rolling again. With a playful growl in return, Kobe attempted to get free from his cousin in order to continue to explain his idea. "I have an idea!" He exclaimed, tugging his ear from Ziba's mouth. She wasn't biting down, but she still had a decent grip.
Once he managed to break free, he tumbled off to the side and shook the sand from his fur once again. Jumping to his feet, he made sure to keep his guard this time while speaking with the feisty, pale colored female. "You see all those hills over there!" He called out, making a gesture to the taller hills without actually looking in that direction. "I have a piece of wood that is really flat. We can use it to slide down the hills. It'd be a lot of fun. Wanna try?"

Ziba pouted as the game of wrestle ended with a change in subject. Maybe he knew she'd win so it wasn't as much fun? Despite her reservations and desire to keep on playing, she listened to what he had to say.
Looking to the hills she tried to picture it, sliding down on a piece of wood? Sure they were fun to tumble down, but sliding down just seemed weird. A weird idea never stopped her before. "Sure! Lets try it!" Standing she shook her self off, the sand flying off her pure white coat leaving only a dustier shade of the white. A bath would be in order later, now it was time to get dirty and play.

"Alright! Let me go grab it!" Kobe ran off for a moment to find the piece of wood that he had abandoned when he first decided to play with Ziba. Of all the items found on the beach, the small cub had developed a sort of attachment for his strangely shaped piece of wood. Finding it a few feet away, he leaned down to grab it in his muzzle and return to his friend. Once he reached her side once again, he set it down and then looked for the best hill to try out his new game. Once he found the tallest, steepest one, he grinned and looked to the female. "That one would be perfect! Follow me!"
Kobe grabbed ahold of his piece of wood and led the way. It wasn't too far off and the climb up was actually pretty easy despite how steep the hill appeared. Setting the piece of wood down on the very top, the cub grinned. This was so similar to the game he tried to play in the water, but this way he wouldn't have to worry about falling under the waves. "So, keeping a paw on the sand to hold yourself, you want to stand on the wood. Once you are comfortable, push off from the sand and put all your paws on the wood to slide down. Did you want to go first?"

Ziba was quick to keep with her cousin eager for the new game. Climbing up the sandy hill with him, she struggled a little but was not about to fall behind.
A small sense of accomplishment came from getting to the top at the same time as her cousin. After the moment passed, her ears were intent on picking up what she was supposed to do to make this work.
Upon being asked that silly question, Ziba grinned and nodded before jumping on to the wood and kicking off. Claws out, she held one awkwardly and laughed as she zoomed down. The landing was the problem, the nose of the wood embedded into the sand and the small white cub fellow head over paws into the soft sand below.

Kobe wasn't surprised when his cousin ran forward and did just as he had directed. He felt proud to see that he had managed to come up with an awesome game idea on his own. Directing Ziba made him feel mature and he compared it to how Omoa had taught him to do and not do so many things. As Ziba slid down the hill, Kobe watched in excitement. She went so much more quickly than they had when they tumbled down. The wood made the sliding very smooth and fast. As she neared the bottom, the male's eyes went wide. He hadn't thought of how they were supposed to land! Before he could shout anything out, he saw the wood wedge itself into the sand and Ziba go flying.
Once Ziba had landed, Kobe went to the side of the hill and made his way down as quickly as possible. He was only partially worried about how the female was doing, relatively certain that she couldn't have gotten too hurt from the landing. Once he made it to her side, he grinned, "That looked awesome! Sorry I didn't plan the landing better... I didn't think it'd do that!" Pulling the wood from the sand, Kobe looked back up towards the hill, grin still on his muzzle. "My turn?"

Ziba didn't move until her cousin reached her, then she rolled over and shook off again. Laughing she grinned and playfully commented, "Yeah, watch that landing." It was a lot of fun, even if the end was a bit bumpy.
Looking around she half expected her mother or aunt, or another adult come running and fussing at her about doing something like that. Not even Vasha would likely to be laughing about it. "Yep your turn!" Picking up the other end of the wood, she smiled through her hold and was intending to help him get it up the hill.

Kobe grinned once Ziba grabbed the other end of the wood. It was tiring running up and down the hill and he appreciated the extra help. Once the pair was coordinated, they brought the wood up to the top of the hill once again and prepared for Kobe to take his turn going down. Positioning himself correctly, the cub was hesitant to let go. He had a blast when he had tried this in the water, but was a bit nervous about the landing. Ziba had done fine, he reminded himself.
Finally using his back paw to push, the cub took off down the hill. With wild laughter, Kobe found himself flying through the air once his board got stuck. The landing wasn't actually too bad since the soft sand was beneath him. Rolling over, he shook himself and grinned. "What a BLAST!" He called out towards Ziba.
Bringing the wood over to where she was, the pair agreed to continue down until they had perfected their landing. Practice made perfect!
