Today, was not a sunny day in the least. The wind hollowed and created a harsh melody of bells. Melody pushed herself against the wind. She had wandered to the beach that day, hoping the dark sky would clear. It of course, hadn't and now she needed to get under some cover. "The sun couldn't show itself at all today!" She wasn't mad or anything, just disappointed. Her bells continued to rattle around as she finally met ground that didn't sink below her hooves.
Out of the sand she traveled fast, and her bells took more to their normal bouncy tempo. They weren't dominated by the wind any longer she she pranced her merry self on toward the forest.

A little yellow Usdia sighted as she huddled herself under a tree and frowned at the current weather. She had hoped today would be another day of running around and laughing, but it seemed the world had a different plans.
Funshine felt lucky she was able to even make it in to the forest to hide from most of the wind. She was after all an Usdia and that meant it was easier for the wind to push her around that is would be for a regular soq, or maybe even a regular foal. Sighing, Funshine shook her head in protest. "Bad weather or good weather I am going to make the best of this day and have some fun!" The little Usdia nodded in determination. "Just as soon as I figure something out first..."

Melody slowed almost to a complete stand still as she entered the forest. She went a little further in and then settle herself in one place to listen to the hum of the trees. Except now, it was most of a ghostly howl. As her bells rang out again her she scowled. Why had today become so nasty so suddenly? That would keep her from any of her usual routines. The ground would be too wet to dance and the howl of the wind made her bells to rough sounding.
"I guess there are days when the weather just ruins everything." She huffed and looked around, conscious that someone could be nearby and hearing everything she said. She thought she'd seen a little patch of yellow, but that was impossible. The sun wasn't out!

Huffing in boredom and a childish sadness, Funshine settled back in to her hiding place.
"What am I supposed to do!" she whined with bouncing lightly and kicking at the ground.
All her pent up energy felt like it was going to explode, so she would need to find some way to get ride of it all, or she might as well be sent out to some asylum for the over energized. She whining moment was interrupted by the feeling of eyes staring in her direction, and the sound of rough bells in the wind.
Spinning around in circles, jumping here and there, her eyes fell on a regular soq. "Wow..I think it has been a while since I had to look up to stare up look someone over...HELLO THERE TALLER ONE!"

Melody looked slightly confused as the yellow patch came into a view again, only this time she recognized the form. She thought it might be a foal at first, but as the little shape came closer she realized she was a Usdia. She realized that have thought she'd seen the sun, wasn't so wrong after all. The small yellow form was bright and smiling, and she she had a little sun pattern. She was fairly cute, and absolutely bouncy when she finally arrived in front of Melody.
Melody couldn't help but chuckle at how the mare introduced itself. "Hello there smaller one, if you don't mind me calling you that." She couldn't help but chuckle again. Just being around the small Usdia cheered her up. "Can I take a wild guess at you name? Sunshine maybe...?" It was a wild guess, and probably completely wrong, but she had to try.

Funshine shook her head as she giggled at the taller mares little name for her. "No, I don't mind at all! Call me whatever you want!" The little Usdia smiled as her eyes wandered over the chuckling mare, her sky blue eyes landing at the bells, which made her tilts her head in curiosity, noting that the bells were probably the sound she herd just a few moments ago.
"What? Oh!" Funshine was brought back by the mare's name guess and giggled once more. "Nope, but you were close Taller One, just off by one letter. My name is Funshine! It's nice to meet you..well I don't know your name, but I'm guessing it is probably something musical with all those bells on you."

Funshine. It was a little different, but something Melody could truly appreciate under the current situation. It was nice to have someone like Funshine around, to brighten up those rainy days. "Funshine it is, that's a very unique name." She couldn't help but notice the Usdia's eyes wandering over her bells.
Melody nodded her head to Funshine's last statement, and the bells in her mane rang merrily. "My name is Melody Forté, and you're right in assuming I'm quite musically inclined." In fact, Melody lived in a life full of music and dance. Which is why she was disappointed about today's rain. Dreary days like these were always a bummer.

The usdia smiled big and nodded her head. Where she came from her name wouldn't really be all the different from others since there names all sounded unique in a way, but here she supposed her name did stick out in its own way. "Thank you. Your own name is very beautiful and fits you well. What kind of musical stuff can you do?"
Funshine wasn't all the musically inclined, unless you counted being able to randomly come up with song at the right moment and make it fit. Though, where she came from it seemed everyone could do that so it wasn't special, and she didn't really do that anyone since coming here.

The rain was brutal now, and finding it's way through the canopy above. Melody was distracted for a second as she glanced around for some place with better cover. "Music you say?" She snapped her attention back to the Usdia with a smile. She could handle getting wet if she were talking to someone cheery.
"Dance of course. If I dance just right, the bells make the perfect music." She smiled, despite the fact it was raining outside she took a few cheery dance steps and made a playful melody with her bells. She stopped though when a flash lit the sky and a loud clap of thunder rang out over head.
"We might want to find some better shelter." She laughed nervously and started to head deeper into the forest.
