So, I'm not really sure how many people will remember me, but hi!!
I'm in Iraq right now, left and started training back in late July and August. This is really the first big chance I've had to get online, and it's quite temporary, but I wanted to hop on and say hi and let everyone know I'm still alive and well and can't wait to get back!
Miss you guys. Sryne

I got a real cruddy deal on my location. I'm stationed down in Basra, which is where the Brits were in charge of... hence why we have nothing down there. I'm actually not even on the main COB there, but on a small COP on the other side of the city. We don't have internet except in the MWR and we don't have any way to get or send mail except to go back to the COB which is happening less and less. We're in GP Medium tents with 15 people and all their stuff crammed in there. The air conditioner only half works and we only get two hot meals a day.
I'm living it up while I'm here in Baghdad getting some training. I won't be here for very long though... just enough time to get the training and go back south again.

Yeesh, that is pretty shitty. We got a couple people from my battalion down there. In fact probably a couple on your base. Every base needs comms, and where there's comm's there's signal.

mdnytestar neko-chan007 Welcome back, come home safe. I agreeThanks guys, I plan on it!! Koala, I haven't seen any of your guys out on our COP, but I wouldn't doubt they'd be on the main COB. They may have come out to set up the infantries commo stuff, but we actually did all of our own set up. It was only the British here when we arrived.

Its free shipping from base to base, so just put together a list of essentials than give it to me with you address. We get care packages here sent to the company, but most of it is stuff we dont need that the outsites like yours could use. we can start sending it all forward no prob.

Thanks Koala, I think we're alright though. My aunt is part of this website called "AnySoldier" and she talked me into signing up my platoon, so we get care packages from a lot of different people. With the lack of space (and now that we've moved into even smaller tents there's even less), there isn't much space for more boxes of stuff. I appreciate it though!
Holy cow, I'd forgotten about that. I should've put a date on that thing too, haha. Good times!
Thanks Bestmom and ananda!! I miss you all too. We might get internet, and if so I'll get on quite a bit more, but if not then it'll be about four more months until I'm around again. Blarg....

No problem than. There's a couple other soldier well being sites out there. If I find the list I'll let you know. I know one would send any books you wanted for free, got a few tech manuals from them. There's another that sends musical instruments, and instructions if you want to learn how to play.
Four more months isn't too bad. I have about three myself, and I go on leave in about two weeks. So for anyone out there, if me or Neko don't post than, you'll know why twisted
