Butterfinger headed down to the river to meet up with Tae, he felt light as the wind that blew along. Winter was fading slowly and the bright male was eager to bring Tae into the pack. He knew she didn't like to feel crowded, but they could remain together in their own den near the water. The entire family was very understanding and they were either there when you needed them or blissfully absent when you needed time alone.
He shook off his pelt shone with health, like the coating on a ducks feather Butterfinger was slick yet fluffy soft thanks to his diet of mostly fish. He splashed into the water and smiled looking around. "Tae?"

Tae was hesitant about meeting up with Butter this time. She knew two things, one that she was to be introduced to the pack and family life and two she would be creating a family of her own with Butter within that pack and that was aided with fact she now carried his offspring. The latter she had still to tell Butter.
She started a small decent which lead to the river below where Butter was often to be found fishing for food for the pack he so dearly loved. Slipping through a small area of bush she came upon the bank of the river and lay her stormy grey eyes upon the male to which her heart now belonged.
Firstly she allowed all her love and emotion to fill her eyes and she sighed contently at the sigh of him, she was smitten with the caring, gentle wolf and it made her feel young again to be filled with such emotion. Then her eyes changed and it appeared as though the stormy grey eyes had clouds tumbling about in them.
‘Butter, my love.’ She began, ‘I think you need to know, before you introduce me to the pack, that I am…’ She hesitated only a moment, trying to imagine how he would take it, ‘I am pregnant.’

Butter looked up and smiled as he saw Tae approaching, he was sure she might be hesitant to meet the pack, so he had arranged for only Alas and perhaps his brother to meet up with them. She could meet the rest of the pack in her own time, he didn't want anything to upset her.
"Tae!" He smiled and leapt out of the water shaking off while he was still a bit away so as not to splash her. He saw her lips move, was she talking to him, or giving herself a pep talk?
He walked closer his smile wide and his blue eyes alight with the power of love. "What was that?" He asked her curiously his ears perking to try and catch her words.

She smiled at him, silly creature hadn’t even heard her while he was splashing about in the water. She stepped closer, closing the gap between them and then nuzzling him fondly in the soft fur of his neck, lifting her nose upwards she whispered softly in his ear.
‘I said.’ She paused a moment and then once again she said, ‘I am pregnant.’ She let her nose linger about his ear and moment longer and then slowly she pulled back and fixed her stormy grey eyes upon his dazzling blue and waited calmly to see how he would respond to the news.

Butterfinger was enjoying the soft sensation of their shared nuzzled when her words finally managed to slice through his love laden brain. She was, pregnant! They were pregnant! They were going to have pups, together!
His blue eyes swirled with instant joy and he circled around her frantic at first before calming and nosing her neck and down to her belly to nuzzle there. He lifted his head and licked her muzzle.
"Oh Tae, tae this is the most wonderful, happiest day of my life! We're going to be the best parents, I promise you I'll always be there for our pups and you...I...I..." He found himself at a loss for words, his shy facade was gone though in the light of this news.
The excitement seemed to pour out of him, he couldn't wait to share his news with his brother and the whole pack, he was going to be a father! And he had the best mate in all the world to be their mother, oh he could already imagine teaching his pups to swim and fish!

Tae smiled softly at Butter as he seemed alive with joy, circling her in a puppyish manner and as he came back to stand in front of her, she stood smiling still as he nuzzled her fondly and drew his nose down to her belly. She returned his loving licking and listened with the smile spreading across her maw as he pronounced his promise of being there for their pups.
She leant forward and curled her head about his neck and let it rest there for a moment whispering softly in his ear, ‘I think you’re right my love.’ She pulled away reluctantly and prompted, ‘Perhaps you’d like to share this good news with your family?’

"Yes yes of course! We must tell them! Oh Tae...this is the very best news my love." He smiled at her for a long moment before looking at her nervously.
"You'll be okay, with the pack...with my family? You don't mind do you?" He longed to share his new family with his pack, but he knew how uncomfortable Tae could be with groups of wolves and strangers. Perhaps she wanted to move elsewhere to have the pups, was it selfish of him to ask her to stay within the pack? He had never felt so torn before between the family that had always been there for him and the one he wanted by his side now.

She noted the nervousness that rippled in his words and the searching, unknowing look in those brilliant blue eyes. She returned it with a steadfast level gaze, her stormy grey eyes reassuring and her voice comforting him, ’I do not mind, Butter, I do not mind.’
She was old now, grey hairs appearing around her muzzle, this would be the last chance at forming a family of any sorts and some deep rooted instinct whispered to her, this was something she had to do, so her spirit could rest. Butter knew her, though they had not spent large amounts of time together, they shared similar qualities and they often spoke without words, she trusted him. She knew she would still find freedom should she require it and at the same time she knew she’d find warmth and companionship should she desire it also.
A small smile formed on her maw and she prompted him once again, ‘Shall we?’

Butterfinger gazed at her a long moment his deep blue eyes searching to ensure that his beloved would truly be alright with entering the pack. He trusted his family not to crowd him or Tae. He slowly relaxed and smiled tenderly nuzzling her as he realized she would indeed be alright. The pack was not smothering, they were there always when needed and respectfully distanced when one needed time alone. Now he didn't want to be alone though, he needed to share his good news with the ones he loved.
His body quivered with excitement but Butter held his pace back letting Tae set it instead. His nose twitched once, twice, but the effort was in vain his sense of smell was weak too weak. His eyes caught sight of the flash of pink and silver that waited patiently for him near a sparse group of trees.
"Thats Alas, she's our alpha female, she's a wonderful healer and if you need anything at all for our pups she'll aid you." He explained to Tae enjoying the idea of 'our' pack, 'our' pups, 'ours'. It was so nice to be able to include another in his future, plans, desires.
His tail wagged eagerly now and he grinned at Tae and then back to the silver wolf who looked equally enthused. "And thats my brother Musketeer, he's gonna love you Tae, and even more when he realizes your gonna make him an uncle. He's got the best nose in all of Telk!" Butter's voice was excited yet held the reverence and pride of any younger brother.

The stormy grey eyes had taken on the appearance of rolling storm cloud, tumbling wildly about in her eyes, something monumental was about to change in her life and she was prepared. Butter quivered excitedly beside her and she set a quick pace, though one natural to her as she glided along the ground. Her eyes scanned the tree line in front of her but before her eyes caught glimpse of the pink female to come she caught scent of another two wolves.
Some paces onwards her eyes came to rest upon the pink and white female, whom Butter informed her was Alas, the female alpha. Her eyes moved across the female taking her in, she was admiration of the beautiful markings she possessed. This would be Tae's first litter and she was past her prime and had never seen a birthing before, she hoped being a healer would enable Alas to aid her with the birthing process.
Of to one side, she caught sight of Butter's brother, though their markings bore no similarities, in build she noted a few. Butter spoke of him in admiration and she herself then was curious to met someone which Butter held in such high respects.
She continued forward towards Alas and then slowed the pace to come and stand in front of the female to whom she would now call her alpha and one she hoped would aid her in weeks to come with the birthing of her pups. She did not speak, she held her head in a relaxed pose, lower than Alas as not to show disrespect and waited gracefully for Butter to make the introduction and break the news.

Butterfinger smiled and followed Tae dipping his muzzle to Alas first. "Alas, Musketeer this is my mate Tae. Tae this is our dear alpha Alas and my brother Musketeer." He moved then with a grin to nuzzle and playfully n** and growl with his brother.
The two settled down and watched Alas and Tae.
Alas moved forward first her posture and eyes spoke volumes of her tender loving nature. She sat infront of Tae and gently reached to touch her nose against the other female. "Oh Butterfinger she's so beautiful it's no wonder you've had her hidden away."
She smiled and winked at Tae "Your most welcome here, I am Libenalas, but everyone calls me Alas." Her nose twitched and her eyes gleamed knowingly as they strayed to her stomach. A healer knew the signs and Alas felt her smile brighten with the realization that pups were soon to come.
"If you need anything at all you must not hesitate to ask."
Musketeer nodded and moved forward after butting his head against Butterfingers ribs teasingly. "My brother is lucky to have found you Tae, I was worried he would only be able to fall in love with himself after staring into the water for so long." He chuckled and moved to dip his muzzle in a short bow before her.
"It's a pleasure to have you join us."

Tae now stood in front of Alas by herself as Butter went to greet his brother in less formal, playful terms. Her storm grey eyes focus onto those of Alas and she flickered her eyes to the floor and back in embarrassment at the mentioning of her beauty. She nodded in acknowledgement as Alas informed her of her true name, though she seemed to prefer Alas. This pack, so far, seemed very inform, nothing like how she imagined, more like a family unit and she quickly began to warm to the abundance of love and care.
Her eyes followed Alas' to her stomach and then back again to met hers. She noted the realisation in the white laced female and her pupils grew larger as she offered her aid, but before she could thank her Musketeer addressed her.
Her eyes reluctantly leaving the reassuring gaze of Alas, she focused upon her mate's brother. In response to his comment she remarked, 'I could not blame him, he is a hansom creature after all.' She flickered her gaze lovingly to Butter and smiled softly, 'But I am glad he looked up to spy me.' Turning back to Musketeer she smiled a different smile and returned the bow with a low dip of her head, 'It is a pleasure to meet you, Butter speaks so fondly of you. Of all of you.'
She turned back to Alas and her eyes filled with gratitude and she thanked her, 'Thank you, I believe there is something you could aid me with.'

Butterfinger was quick to rejoin Tae and stood beside her looking at her lovingly he held back a tremble of excited joy. He just knew how pleased the pack would be to welcome not only Tae but their pups. Akiiki Chibale was after all a place of family and love above all else. His deep blue eyes gazed at Taw lovingly allowing her to make the announcement herself not wanting to steal her happy news.
"You have but to ask and we will always be here to assist you in any form, tell us what you need?" Alas smiled brightly eager to have her suspicion confirmed. Oh how she adored bringing new life into the world, even after the frightening experiences she had faced aiding mothers bad condition. Each new life she helped every mother who she saw happily nestled with her pups made her heart leap.
Musketeer tilted his head curiously as his brother moved back beside Tae, he looked so protective. It was w hole new side to his brother, a more confident wolf stood where his head ducking sibling had once been. It made him smile broadly his silver gaze flicked to Tae.
"Of course, what do you need?"

Butter came back to her side and she nuzzled him before her eyes searched his, she smiled, knowing the news was to be given by her and she turned her attentions back to Alas and to Musketeer. Her storm grey eyes met gentle blue and then fixed to silver, answering Musketeer's question and Alas' suspicions in one breath, 'I am with pup and I need someone to aid me with the birthing process. I am old, past my prime, though this will be my first litter.'
Tae was strong, her strength born from a life as a lone and learning how to survive, but now doubt filled her eyes and worry; this was something she'd never faced before and she did not know how her body with cope with the ordeal. Her eyes searching hopefully across a pink pelt and pleaded with blue eyes.

Butterfinger tenderly nuzzled Tae mildly surprised by her concerns he himself hadn't had time to consider that something might actually go wrong. Females had been having pups since the start and he forgot that the process could be riddled with challenges. He curled close to his mate and licked her muzzle but before he himself could offer any reassurances he was pleased to hear alas offer hers, after all she was a healer.
Alas smiled brightly her tail wavering as she stood. "That is most wonderfully welcome news Tae, you needn't fear I shall aid you. You are welcome to the family den or I shall come visit you daily in your resting place. You are hardly old, and your a fit female your pups will be healthy I'm sure, and you have all the love and attention you need among us."
She moved forward to offer her a tender nuzzle of reassurance and licked butterfingers nose. "You are very lucky dear cousin, it will be a pleasure to have your family so close."
Musketeer grinned. "It would seem congratulations are in order then! More for our family! I'll finally be a true uncle!"
