It Begins.

As the sun begins to set in the west, an unsettling feeling washes over the entire island. Even the smallest critters and insects can feel it now. Its almost as if the air seems heavier. The peculiar wind that has been visiting the island has picked up even more, blowing leaves off the trees and sending small debris flying all over the place. It's impossible to ignore now.

As soon as the sun has dipped below the horizon, all inhabitants of Telrunya Isle will begin to feel drowsy. They'll feel an insatiable urge to sleep. This feeling won't hit all of a sudden, but is gradual over the next couple hours.

By dark, every living creature on Telrunya will be in a peaceful, sound slumber unaware of what is happening on the Island.

Bneut watched the sun set, next to his fiance, Esmee. He was quite content to sit in the cover of her residence, safe from the wind. The flower demon was going to build them a new place to stay, so they were a decent distance away from their families, but not too far away at the same time.

Sari watched the wind blow through the trees. She was still home with her mother and father, who she was starting to get sick of. They were too couple-y for her tastes. She was getting worried about what the wind was going to do to the isle.

Seraphim looked around, glaring pretty much, from the mouth of the cave he had dragged Cinna to. While he wasn't one to stay with a female he was definitely protective of this one. Probably something about being the first one he snapped entirely like that on. No matter, the wind was causing his current whim for him. Total island chaos.

Leitha, who was in the cave with Seraphim and Cinna, tugged gently on Cinna's hand. "Cinna, why's Dad standing in the mouth of the cave?" She asked, curious. She would be innocent for Cinna, as the demonic needed a friend. At least that's what she thought.

((I'm not bringing all my pae unless they're requested XD These are just the ones I'm really into playing right now owo;; ))

With a languid sigh, Zephyros sat near the beach. One hand propped up his head just under the mixed demon's chin; the other was twirling small cyclones out of the now gusty erratic winds that were causing amok.

With a candid twist of his wrist the small cyclones would dance along the sand, picking up any small debris like leaves or small shells and toss them playfully. Zephyros was enjoying the new winds; they coaxed him to use his wind bending powers which usually fell to a little neglect as high winds are brutal on good hair.

The sun had just started to set when the giraffe spotted pae stifled a small yawn with the back of his slender hand. In its absence, the cyclones dissipated back into the winds from which they came, scattering their new found treasures carelessly on the sand.

The barbecue-loving demonic laid back on the beach sands, enjoying the feeling of the winds against his face. So it was a little windy. It was still almost summer; the season was creeping so close! Texas adored the changing seasons and wouldn't let a little wind deter him from enjoying the setting. In fact, this seemed to be the perfect time to take a cat nap in the sands...

Texas had earlier suggested that the whole family come outside to the beach, despite the increasing winds. While some had wandered off--namely the introverted eldest--the whole family was enjoying some time at the beach...or was trying to, in any case.

Okeanos danced along the shoreline, gesturing dramatically as he went. Waves formed as he lifted his arms, larger than the average wave he created at this point mostly because of the winds. He hummed and struck poses, as if he was the king of the world and everyone else was an insignificant ant, easily able to be swallowed by the mediocre waves he was producing.

"Okey!" shouted Magnus from underneath a palm tree, "ya' look like an a**!"

Criofan whacked Magnus over the head, causing the faerie to moan in pain. "While Ah may not be the best of influences myself, ya're really not helping. Ah'd advise shuttin' up." He leaned back against the palm tree, glancing out at the shore and the increasingly large waves the wind and Okeanos were causing. Suddenly, he commented, "Ya' know, Ah feel like it's later at night than it actually is. Not 'cause of the appearance outside."

"Feel a little relaxed like it's getting close to bedtime?" Zuri walked up beside Criofan, hands in the pockets of his rainbow-colored skirt which whipped around in the wind. Assuming the answer was yes, he carried on. "I do too, actually. Might just be because it's a lazy day. I usually feel a bit sleepy no matter what if it's a lazy day."

As soon as he stopped talking, Zuri took a comb out of his pocket and attempted to smooth his hair back out, with little success. This wind was beginning to make keeping his hair nice impossible.

Criofan shrugged the strange feeling off. "Ah suppose ya're right." The leprechaun yawned loudly, stretching out his arms in the process. Perhaps the nighttime would revitalize him. He still needed to steal the bag from Aysu again...

Esmee was a bit of a distance from her family on the beach, laying against Bneut. She, like her siblings, thought this was a nice, lazy day. While Esmee preferred productivity and would usually rather be researching, she and her familiar welcomed the break. While she watched the figures playing and relaxing in the distance, Fernand was all too happily eating raw fish like the penguin he was and giving himself a bit of a human-like food coma.

-----------

As the sun was about to dip below Telrunya Isle, Magnus trudged over to the brown figure sleeping on the ground. He nudged him in the side half-heartedly. "Texy, Texy... Get'up."

As the sun had not yet set, Texas stirred and looked up to Magnus with bleary eyes. "Magnus..." The demonic yawned loudly, but found his legs too weak and tired to get himself up. "Did... did ya' get me drunk again?"

Magnus bent down and wrapped an arm around Texas's shoulders, before hauling him up on his feet. Then, the shorter fae yawned loudly. "Naw... I learned my lesson last time, Texy."

"Guoood..." Texas leaned heavily on Magnus. "'cause, 'cause... I don't know."

Magnus vaguely chuckled, too tired himself to do much else. "Yeah... Let's... go home." With another loud yawn that passed onto to his brother, Magnus began to haul Texas back to their shared home. Shortly after they got in, Magnus found that Texas had fallen back to sleep. With a lazy chuckle, Magnus managed to drag himself and Texas to the living room.

"G'nigh'..." Magnus dropped Texas onto the couch unceremoniously before collapsing onto the floor beside him, just as the sun sunk beyond the horizon.

As the wind shifted once more, a head of twisting purple hair peeked out of the canopy of Loka Nei. Golden eyes blinking at the setting sun, Takeko was reminded that the hour was getting late. She'd meant to head home earlier than this, but as usual, she'd stumbled across yet another new, interesting herb and lost track of time. Hefting her basket of herbs on one arm, she set her eyes towards home.

She stretched her wings to the sky, then set off soaring for home. The trees and earth skimmed by below, mere blurs in some cases. Only halfway into her journey, she raised her free hand to cover her mouth, a sudden yawn escaping. She couldn't have been gone that long, right? Probably just the tolls of a long day of herb gathering, that's all. She'd be quick to grab a bite to eat as soon as she got home, then head for bed. Perhaps Aspen might have already taken care of dinner...

---

A blue blur flitted just in and out of sight between the trees, a soft growl left in its wake. Broad paws pounded over the forest floor, striped tail twisting and snapping like a whip behind the creature to help keep its balance. Only when the creature slowed was its true form clear. The blue tiger, striped with silver, panted lightly, his azure eyes casting over the area.

His form seemed to shift, posture changing, then features following afterward...until a demonic Pae stood in the feline's place. Kane shook his head and stretched, popping a few joints in the process. "It's getting easier," he muttered to himself. A few months of solitary practice and he was getting used to his new form...at least, he had less issues with losing himself or losing control while in his feline form.

Still, he didn't need his additional instincts to know something felt...strange. There was a new...something...on the wind. It wasn't a scent or a sound; nothing he could detect with his normal senses. More like...a feeling.

He caught himself blinking a bit and reached up to rub his eyes tiredly. Odd. Normally, he was waking up about this time, leaning more towards being a nocturnal creature if left to his own devices. And yet, right now, he felt more like finding a warm place to curl up and nap.

The Descent

It was a natural occurrence that was unavoidable. The Guardians knew what was happening to the island, but they were powerless to stop it. So they did what they could, to prevent yet another devastating natural disaster.

The magic that had been holding Telrunya up in the sky so securely had started growing weak. It was such a gradual change that many residents of the island couldn't even tell the island was moving. Until it started dropping a little faster.

The night of the impact, the Guardians made sure every living creature was in a deep slumber. They didn't want a mass panic to erupt when the Pae'il realized what was happening, and it was the only way to protect them.

While the Guardians couldn't stop the island's descent; they were at least able to guide the island through the air, controlling where the touch down would be. In a unanimous decision, the Guardians decided the Island would be most safe in the middle of the Sea. Far away from the prying eyes of the world so they could maintain their way of life.

It took 3 days for the island to make its final descent. Pae'il and all the creatures of Telrunya were oblivious to the changes that were taking place all around them. They were safe, and guarded from harm while in this slumber.

---

The impact of the touch down in the water caused many drastic changes to the island itself. The land was weak along Chai'en River and cause the island to rip apart on the northwestern end. Chai'en River had become a canyon that split Loka Nei Forest. The edge of the island broke away, creating a lagoon.

Many of the small, unexplored islands that surrounded Telrunya moved with the large land mass, and became much more visible.

Perhaps biggest of the changes was Telrunya City. The empty city, so full of magic from having been just rebuilt, broke away from the falling island. The connection the city had to the island caused it to follow; however the magic that protected it would not allow the city to touch down to the water. It remains floating in the air above where it used to connect to the island.

A peculiar little island, once hidden behind the large mountain range, glided down after Telrunya had settled in the water. It settled in the water, right beneath Telrunya City. On this island is giant tree. The tree looks very ancient, like it has been around even longer than Telrunya Island itself. Curious as it may look, at this time, there is no way for Pae'il to climb the cliffs to explore it.

In the 3 days the Pae'il were asleep, the magical island adapted and protected its denizens. Pae'il were safe, and would not know directly what had happened. They would wake up, not knowing any time had passed at all, except that perhaps they slept through the night.

((RPers may have their pae'il wake up anywhere on the island. The magic the Guardians used to protect them kept them safe from harm, so even if your pae was on the part of the island that broke off into the sea, they'd be safe somewhere floating or on a rock when they woke up.

Its up to the individual player if their pae's house or dwelling was disturbed. All NPC's homes are fine, and no buildings collapsed. ))

Bneut yawned, waking up from the three day sleep, refreshed though still drowsy. Stretching, the flower demonic rolled over to watch Esmee, as silent as he always was in the morning. The night prior had been a good one, regardless of how the wind had been, it was a relaxing day, and the nigh had been better.

He didn't even notice the shaken trees outside, though for all he knew they could have been from the winds.

Though it was against his better judgment, Seraphim had pulled the red and white demonic close before they went to sleep, letting the naiad that he claimed as a 'daughter' pick where she wished to lie. He was waking up to several rocks around them that weren't there before.

He was instantly enraged, someone had came in and figured out a way to knock down the walls of his cave during the night! Impossible!

Leitha sat there, watching Seraphim wake up, he was going to be angry.. She could see that much, but she didn't realize he was furious so quickly. The little girl had nearly been smashed in the falling of the rocks, which was why she was awake.. And in the small spring inside of the cave still.

Three days ago, Trager had suddenly become drowsy while cleaning up around her room, and laid down to take a nap. Of course, she had no idea that it had been three days ago because as sleep did, time felt so short. The blankets were strewn all across the bed as if Trager had been very actively sleeping, which wasn't normal for her, "I didn't feel that restless when I went to sleep..." she was sure that she had passed out in quite a hurry, though the memory of falling asleep was blurry. Trager quickly glanced outside the window to check the weather, opening it up to feel the cool... salty! Trager sniffed the air, the smell of salt strong in the breeze that was blowing back her long brown hair. How odd... A strong gust blew her back from the window, which is when she saw an acorn rolling on the ground outside. Intrigued she quickly made to exit the room, noticing a portrait she had drawn that was tilted on the wall, she glared at the drawing and fixed the frame before running out of the headquarters and going around the building until she was outside her window. "Huh..." she murmured as she looked for the acorn. She spotted it once again and picked it up, rolling it between her fingers.

[Just Trager, if anyone wants to request someone else of mine, go for it.]

[Well, I've been gone long enough, might as well jump back in.]

Elizabeth and Amapola had been keeping to themselves lately. No particular reason why, they just had. Three days ago the sisters had been enjoying the beautiful day out behind their home when sleep had claimed them. Deep, dreamless sleep, and when they awoke again they were a bit confused.

"I can't believe we slept out here the whole night!" exclaims Amapola, standing up and stretching. "We didn't even put away our picnic!"

Elizabeth says nothing just yet. Something feels different, though she can't say what. "Let's get this stuff inside before it goes bad."

A little while after Bneut awoke, Esmée stirred and stretched like a cat waking up from a pleasant nap. She glanced around and noticed that it certainly seemed a little less windy. The trees weren't shaking around, and her curly hair wasn't blowing in the wind. Well, that was nice. When had the wind ended, though?

"Hm, it must've gotten a little better overnight," was the first thing she said, before glancing over at the drowzy Fernand. "Right Fernand?"

Fernand nodded, pushing the empty bucket beside him away. Then, the penguin waddled over to the nearest door and pushed it with his beak. "I do suppose, Esmée, though something feels a tad off about the environment around us. Perhaps it is simply the lack of blowing winds, but I do know how you like researching things."

Esmée nodded in agreement with Fernand, before turning to Bneut. "I think we should explore a little bit. It's a nice day." She grinned.

--------

Texas woke up in the same position Magnus had set him in all those days ago. He blinked bleary eyes and stretched, quickly realizing that the ground underneath him was comfortable and cushy. He rolled to the side and saw Magnus staring back up at him. "Mm," Texas smiled, "thanks Magnus."

"Don't mention it." And when Magnus said that, he meant it. He came to a sitting position and then stretched his arms into the sky. That was certainly a nice nap, but it had been a very early night for the faerie. He'd have to make up for that by staying up all night. The moon was his sun.

The windows didn't sound like they were wrattling, and the door wasn't shaking ever so slightly anymore. "I think the winds stopped," remarked Texas, pushing himself off the couch and on his feet. The demonic ventured over to the door and pushed it fully open--Magnus had never really closed the door after entering.

"They really did stop. The land seems a little too peaceful in comparison to the past week or so." He chuckled, turning around.

Magnus had walked up behind Texas and was on his tip-toes to look over his shoulder. Then, he knit his brows and headed outside, glancing from left to right. "Hey, Texy."

"Hm?"

"...Was that river there before?"

Confused, Texas wandered outside to join Magnus. He followed the faerie's eye of sight until he found the river that was now flowing near their house. His eyes widened. After cautiously turning around to make sure the beach was still there, he looked back to Magnus. "No. I... I don't think it was."

The demonic walked closer to the river cautiously, before tripping over a strange rock and falling to the ground. Texas spat sand out to the side before turning around to pick up what had tripped him. "An acorn? At the beach?"

Magnus reeled. "Damn Texy, what the bloody hell did we sleep through?"

"I don't know... Maybe we should follow the river." Texas clutched the acorn tightly in his hand as he got up off the ground.

Magnus was all for danger, but this was a little weird even for him. But if Texas was going with him, the Dionysus Pae'il supposed he could go. After all, Texas did have that ability to calm things. "Alright. Let's go."

He smiled softly as he watched his love wake. It was something he would never pass up.

"The walls don't seem to be shaking from the wind." He offered, stretching various parts of his body as they spoke. Murmuring slightly, Bneut looked at Esmee for her next statement of the morning, a smile still on his lips.

"The wind might have died down, it would probably be safe to walk out there now.." He chuckled, offering a hand to the blind pae on the bed. "Fernand could probably use some fresh fish while we're out."

PostPosted: Sat May 16, 2009 10:16 pm
Esmée grabbed Bneut's hand and used it to yank herself to her feet. Then, she let her hand explore the nearby table until her hand reached some glasses. Happily, she placed them over her eyes, giving herself the gift of okay sight.

Briefly forgetting Bneut couldn't hear him even if he wasn't deaf, Fernand said, "Mr. Bneut, I do believe I am growing to like you. I would love some fresh fish. Please, lead the way."

With a giggle, Esmée said, "Fernand dear, he can't hear you." After patting her penguin on the head, she turned to Bneut. "Fernand's quite happy with this idea of getting more fish. I think he's probably hungry from taking such a nice nap."

--------

"Does the air seem saltier to you?"

Texas glanced over at Magnus. Though both were confused and quite curious, both were also relaxed after such a long sleep and were taking their time as they strolled by the river. "Saltier? What do you mean, exactly?"

The Dionysus faerie shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe it's just the taste of air from water that randomly appears out of the middle of frickin' nowhere."

Texas rolled his eyes. "Oh stop. I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for this." As he said that, he squeezed the acorn in his hand even tighter. Hopefully, the acorn on the beach was just a weird coincidence. Maybe the river had washed it onto the shore.

"Unreasonable is fine, too... Hey, let me see that acorn." While uncertain at first, Texas eventually nodded and handed it over to Magnus, who brought it close to his face and sniffed it. The demonic quirked a brow at Magnus's behavior.

After another sniff, Magnus determined, "Hm, doesn't smell as salty as the air. Rather weird, though. Where did this thing come from?" After saying that, he handed the acorn back to Texas.

"Perhaps the Guardians made me trip over it for a reason." Magnus rolled his eyes. "But," Texas continued, "it might've just washed up from the river."

"Eh, probably. Still doesn't explain the river."

Alaera had been out gathering fruit at the outskirts of Loka Nei Forest when the sleepiness started to creep up on her. She ignored it at first and continued with her gathering, mostly plucking the berries off the bushes but the wind began to pick up, whipping her hair into her face and she started to stumble in her tired state. Yawning again, she made her way over to a nearby tree.

"Maybe...maybe I'll just sit down for a minute and maybe take a little nap."

She slumped up against the tree, yawning one last time before closing her eyes.

****

When they fluttered open again, Alaera blinked off the sleep in a mild confusion. Where was she? Pickering herself up from the ground she groaned, her muscles aching, protesting her movement. 'How long was I asleep?' the demon couldn't help but wonder. The wind wasn't blowing anymore at least. She really didn't enjoy the taste of hair in her mouth.

Intent on heading back to her tree, she started off only to feel a sharp pain in her foot. Cursing, she looked at her foot to discover she had stepped on an acorn pointy side up. Stooping to dislodge it she noticed that the ground around her was littered with leaves and berries and apples. They weren't there when she'd fallen asleep...she couldn't help but yonder yet again just how long she'd slumbered. Without thinking she pocketed the acorn in her bag with the rest of her berries, most of which were squished now.

Alaera traveled north for some time before the line of tress broke suddenly and a long canyon sliced through the forest. She halted her mind confused at the obstacle blocking her path. Where had that come from? She could see no way to pass it either right or left. Sighing grumpily, she turned around, heading south now, rather glad that she at least felt rested. She still idly wondered exactly how she had been sleeping.

But a new question had emerged that was forefront in her mind....just what the hell had happened while she was sleeping. Perhaps someone at headquarters had the answers.

"Ugh," the mixed demon murmured, shifting back up into a sitting position. Something was not right. Instead of feeling rested he felt sluggish. For some reason his body felt heavy; for that matter, everything felt heavy. The air burned his lungs and throat. Zephyros inhaled deeply and hacked before hunching over to keep from vomiting.

As the hair fell into his face, he looked at it for a long hard moment. "What...the HELL....IS GOING ON?!?!?!" he roared furiously. Instead of his normal shiny clean hair, he stared at the dull oily mess swinging before his eyes. A few hours would not ravage his hair this much. How long had he been out and why did everything feel different? "Why do the guardians keep ******** with us?" he bellowed angrily, still hunched over in pain.

"ungh"

The pink fae reached a hand up to her head before opening her eyes.

"What a rough night ... that's the last time I nap on the porch swing." As the last word escaped her lips, her eyes shot open. "Wait, how did I ... ?" I had suddenly occured to her that she wasn't on the porch swing anymore. Am I that restless of a sleeper? she wondered.

Dizzy tried to roll over from her position and placed her hands on the ground. She paused a moment as she noticed leaves and twigs ... the forest floor? She stood up with a little effort and peered around.

"How the heck...?"

She was standing a bit away from the tree where her home was. Apparently the jostling the island endured had caused the swing on her porch to launch her out of the tree, though she had no idea what happened.

"Peculiar ... I wonder if I started sleep walking." she mumbled to herself as she started plucking loose twigs from her hair. A little embarassed that stress was starting to effect her in such a way, she quickly took to the air and fluttered up to her house. Her jaw dropped to the ground when she noticed everything in dissaray. "What ... happened?"

Quickly without wasting another moment, she headed off to make sure Joi and Lucia were alright. She'd check on her sons and husband... if she had any inkling where they'd disappeared to months and months ago.
