Private Roleplay Between Tnau Jynk
Plot: Ever since moving into Vargash, the club lounge 'Papillon' has always attracted it's fair share of crowd. Recently though, it's owner Dreamer Eversong has noticed a decreasing amount of customers have been attending the club. Fearing the worst, she sent out an invitation to a few known entertainers around the city. After a not to many brief interviews some of the chosen were given a big opening chance, and to Dreamer`s annoyance, none could step up and fill in what she needed. Worry setting in, it was time to visited a place where people were always attracted to, and was always or almost a full house. The carnival, was something quite new to the owner. She`d never really been to places that held such acts of entertainment, much less so full of different types of people. Feeling adventures, or daring; Dreamer went to the carnival where she met a very peculiar man named Faolan Grandy, a fortune teller.

So it comes to this... Dreamer stood in front of the carnivals entrance, internally struggling with going in or not. There would be all sorts of people here, and that included the lower class, people that she wasn't used to dealing with and in all actuality didn't want to deal with. It wasn't her fault she'd been raised with such high expectations, though that she was here... Wearing completely or almost completely normal clothing was a very good example that she wanted to change. With her long fitted tank top and plan black leggings no one would really be able to tell from what class she was from. Except her shoes. The white opened toe heels she was sporting were as clean as anything could be and were the only evidence that she was more then just the simple girl. Taking a deep breath, Dreamer settled into the line with others to wait, something she had never done. When she was bumped into by a man supporting a beer belly she shivered. Just disgusting. Taking out some sanitizer from her little purse, Dreamer took a few drops and rubbed her arm. Did these people not know what bathing was? When she finally reached the booth Dreamer was appalled, a teenager that looked like she had been attacked by a box of tools chewed gum with her mouth open and hand outstretched waiting for Dreamer. Trying hard not to make a face she handed the girl the money, grabbed her ticket and left. " Keep the change. " She'd said, not really wanting to touch anything the teenager had. This was going to be a very long and excruciating process.
The lights and sounds made Dreamer loose track a little, she was watching people and what they were doing; even going as far as almost deciding to go on the ferris wheel. Maybe if she'd been raised in another environment, she could have enjoyed such a place without making faces at everything, or sanitizing her hands every time she touched something; That would turn into a habit if she didn't stop. Wandering around the grounds a bit more until she was satisfied, Dreamer finally decided to ask a clown where she could find a manager. The clown gave her a look down, laughed and then kept moving. I don't see what's funny... Glaring daggers at the clowns back, she kept moving and asking people, though no one was giving her a satisfied answer. Irritated beyond belief by how people were acting towards her, she stomped over to the ferris wheels line. Passing everyone and demanding to go on. " Hey lady get at the back of the line! " One man shouted at her, another whistled as she turned around so glare at all of them. Hopeless, this was a bad idea and stupid. She just wasn't in her environment, she couldn't do as she pleased here and that really irritated her. Not to mention every single man that passed her looked at her like she was some piece of eye candy. Next time... I'm wearing a mustache. She thought bitterly, turning around and walking away. Though she slowed down as she noticed something... A fortune teller? Let's see how good they are. Lady fate might not be watching.
Lady fate could be extremely cruel when her powers were used in the worst of ways, though most of the time she as too busy writing people's fates. Heck Dreamer should know, her people believed in her quite a bit. Well finally something interesting to do. She had wondered if a fortune teller would attract the attention she needed to the club... Though she'd have to test out the person's skills, she wasn't about to hire just a random person for the job, she might loose business if she did. Moving the tent flap she entered, looking around a few things, when she reached for her sanitizer she had no more. Crap... Passing a hand through her hair, Dreamer took a breath. " You're okay... Breath, just breath. " Who knew what kind of person lived here! Nothing was exactly neat, then again she didn't know what to expect from a fortune teller. Dreamer had never really looked into the subject, much less had visited one before. Feeling slightly excited she continued to look around, there was something nagging her though. As if someone kept poking at the back of her mind to remind her of something she couldn't remember. Trying her best to ignoring the feeling, Dreamer continued to move around touching and observing. " Hello anyone here? "

Fao stood outside the tent's entrance, having seen the strange woman go in, and watched her a moment before clearing his throat and speaking. "Miss? Are you lost?"
He stood, hands on hips, in full costume. It wasn't even one of his usual fortune teller outfits, either, having just come from dancing (twice in the same week--it would be bad odds were it not for the fact his dad was pissed at him). Shifting his weight caused the tiny bells at his hips to jingle softly. He reached up to idly scratch his bare chest, not at all bothered by the way he was dressed, the loose-fit pants and leather bindings about his feet and lower legs being rather comfortable in the humid night air.

If she hadn't been so deep in thought with all the looking around she was doing, she could have seen the man and anticipated him saying something to her. But instead she yelped and turned around briskly, almost falling over because of the speed she'd taken with her heels. When her eyes landed on... Uhm... What exactly was he? He had horns, but did he have a tail? She couldn't see from where she was standing, and from what she could tell he didn't have wings either. That gave her two possibilities, either he was camouflaging the extra appendages or he was half demon. Dreamer looked him over, he didn't look like the fortune teller then again she didn't have anything to compare one with so that thought process was pretty useless. His clothing didn't give much of what he could be either, she'd never seen someone dressed so... Oddly and it kind of amused her just a tad bit, though to stay polite she didn't laugh. And why was he half naked? Not that she minded, she did tip that way though right now there wasn't really anytime for free play.
Lifting her chin up slightly and looking quite arrogant, Dreamer put a hand on her hip. " No I'm not lost? Do I look lost to you? " She technically wasn't lost, she'd come here with the purpose of finding a fortune teller and the manager for some entertainment. Then again, she was still trying to find the manager so yes she was just a little lost. " I'm looking for the fortune teller. Are you lost? " Right... Stupid question. The man obviously looked like he was working for the circus, though he didn't seem to fit in with the hole fortune telling scene if she judge by the things she found around the tent. The nagging feeling she was getting had pulsed slightly when the man had revealed himself. What the hell... Now it was just plain annoying, what the hell was she forgetting? Dreamer had remembered reading something about it while learning the history of her people, but she still couldn't put her finger on it.

Faolan smirked, leaning casually on the tent's door frame and giving her a rather incredulous look. "I ain't lost, darlin'. I'm the fortune teller right enough, but this ain't my tent. I don't use tents for my craft." He pointed back behind him with a thumb. "My booth is set up over there when you're done hanging about the storage tent for the horse feed."
He sauntered off, hips jingling softly from the rows of tiny bells. How he hated that costume, but it was too late in the evening to change into his usual get-up, so he was stuck being the sexy fortune teller for the night. He ducked through the doorway of his booth and started setting things up for customers.

Dreamer narrowed her eyes dangerously as he called her darling, if there was one thing she hated was being called a pet name. They just irritated her beyond belief, and so far the only person she hadn't been able to stop from using them was someone she kept at the back of her mind. She didn't really want to owe said person and was just dreading the day he would come knocking on her door asking for the favor; she was sure he'd come at some point. Dreamer was pretty sure she wasn't in the horse feed area, she wasn't stupid, she knew that much. Maybe she'd entered his tent and that had been his measly attempted at getting her out, if that was the case she wasn't to pleased. Once he was out of sight with his back to her, she released her wings, stretching them slightly to get a bit of irritation out of her. Play nice, Be nice. She told herself, though that was going to be hard, hopefully the card telling would go well. From the little she knew about Tarot cards, a few negative cards would come up. Death being one of them, though because the boy probably didn't understand what she was, it would be seen as a bad thing.
Hiding the wings once more she walked out from the tent and followed behind him to the so called booth. It was really starting to get a little harder not to laugh at the man. Come on, bells on his hips? As if to enhance his femininity? Jeez, maybe she should come here more often when she really needed a laugh. Buy some popcorn, take a seat and just laugh the whole time. Reaching the booth she leaned on it, looking around. " So you're the fortune teller... You certainly don't look like one. " No you look like something a clown would choke on. She thought, a smile of amusement crossing her features.

Faolan looked back at her, one hand resting on the back of a chair. "I'm also a dancer and didn't have time to change clothes before coming here. Did you want my services?" He narrowed his golden eyes slightly, reading the woman's body language. Oh, she was one of those, the ones he never felt wrong for conning out of money.

Dreamer quirked her brow, was going really going to have to repeat herself? " I'm here to see the fortune teller. If you hadn't noticed or heard what I said when we were back in the so called horse feed. " Her voice slightly sarcastic, if he was going to play stupid with her she was just going to go find someone else for a reading and, she wouldn't have any trouble doing it either. After the reading she'd ask for the manager, and if someone didn't answer her, there was going to be a lot of trouble. " Dancer? Hm, that's a very... " Ridiculous? Crazy? " Interesting costume they make you wear. What kind of dancing do you do? " Now she'd turned inquisitive, she had come to hire some form of entertainment, though if they all dressed like that... She'd have to rebuild their wardrobe. No bells, those things were just way to annoying, then again she could let them go shopping on their own to find something that fitted their act nicely. Though of course she would put a little push into it, and maybe a few subtle suggestions. Dreamer always got her way, end of story.

Faolan narrowed his eyes more. The woman must be stupid as well as vain, then. "I am the fortune teller, the only one in the carnival." He sat down in the chair he'd been leaning on with a soft jingle of bells. "Can't help what they ask me to wear. The more provocative and exotic the costume, the more money people are likely to throw on stage at the end of the show. I do just about any style of dance, so long as its fun and I know the steps." He gave her a mad sort of grin, settling back in the chair and folding his arms over his chest. "But you ain't really here about my dancing if you're asking for the fortune teller, eh? Sit down, lass, and I'll read you the cards." His eyes narrowed a little knowingly. "Unless its something else you're really after."

Dreamer took the chair across from him, she shifted a little until she got comfortable and crossed a leg over the other. She had always found demons to be of slight annoyance, they were always so... wearisome and this one was just another out of the pack. " Provocative? Maybe exotic, but I wouldn't call it provocative. " She shrugged. " Then again there are many different opinionated people out there, as the saying goes 'one man's garbage is another man's treasure'. " Though she had to give him credit, maybe he wasn't as half-witted as she had thought. " Yes, of course I'm here for a fortune telling, I was just curious. " Curious for a very good reason, now she was wondering if she'd actually find anyone decent to hire here. Massaging two fingers on her temples she took a breath. " Alright, I'm kind of new to this, you might have to explain a bit. I'm not sure if I'm suppose to be doing anything. " If she didn't need to do anything, that would have sounded stupid. But instead of being bumped down about sounding stupid, she was actually pretty excited. Dreamer always enjoyed doing new things and this was just part of the whole moving into the city thing, or so she thought anyways.

"This usually works better when the person seeking answers actually wants to know those answers. Or rather, if you have questions, you sort of have to have some faith that the cards will show you what you need," Faolan explained, getting a little irked at the haughtiness the woman regarded him with. Really, lady, why bother coming to me if you don't really want my help?
He leaned to the side, searching a moment inside an old chest. Finally he withdrew something rectangular and wrapped in silk and set it on the table. "Now then, before we get started, its generally customary to cross the fortune teller's palm with silver. That is to say, you have to give me something to focus on for this to work." He unwrapped the object from the silk, showing it to be a very old deck of tarot cards. The way he touched at them reverently showed that he respected the power of them, and they did have power, that old deck Grandmother had given him. He normally didn't use them on people he didn't care for, but the lady had called him garbage in so many words and he wanted to see what she was really up to at Farstep, and hopefully to see if there would be some large heavy object falling on her head in the near future, too.

Quirking her brow, Dreamer watched him curiously. The more he explained the more she wondered if it was actually really going to work, if it really worked Dreamer would have no words and it would give the kid some extra brownie points with her. Hell, might even come back. " I do have something I've been wondering about... " She said bemused, oh yes a question she'd tried to think about and had yet to come to a conclusion to. She wasn't afraid of death, the guy was actually pretty cool, but it was just the way of dying that bothered her. " Why didn't he just shoot me. " She murmured out loud, that man had given her more miseries then anything by letting her live. The idea of faith was a little odd to her, she didn't exactly know how she could put faith into the cards. Dreamer had always been a I have to see it to believe it type of girl, though she was going to give it a try; couldn't hurt right?
" Money, of course. " Opening her clutch Dreamer grabbed a hundred dollar bill and slide it to Fao. " If you need more lemme know. " She closed the clutched and held it on her lap, Dreamer never really flaunted her money around like other upper class people. By the way they acted, and by what had recently happened, she didn't want to be placed within their ranks. Dirty scoundrels. She thought bitterly, before trying to figure out what she could give Fao. She could always give him her families ring, it was pretty but she wondered what others would thing. It was a rather large silver ring that stopped right before where she bent that part of her finger. On it was a skull with an open mouth, a dark red ruby sat in the mouth and fog like wings seemed to go all around her finger. Pulling a few times on the ring she softly places it on the table. " I hope that helps. Family heirloom. " When 'D' finally saw the cards she knew right away they weren't normal. To her, it looked as if there was an edginess to them. Power... She thought, a sly smile forming on her lips. Lady fate would not be pleased indeed if she found out about this, and not one bit.

Faolan picked up the ring with deft fingers, not even looking at it as he slid it on the pinkie of his left hand. "This will do." He stood up, picking up the money and went to the backroom of the booth, presumably to put the money away, but in actuality it was to let Zia touch the ring and tell what it could of the woman.

Dreamer had watched him carefully, her gaze sliding along his backside. There was a line of demonic runes on his spine, and upon closer inspection they felt strangely familiar as if she had seen them somewhere. Frowning slightly, she gazed about. There were a few antics here and there, only a few perking her interest, but never anything eye catching. She wondered where he'd gone off to, and more importantly why he'd gone off. Did he not need the cards to tell her fate? " Strange... " She murmured softly, though her mind was still wrapped around the runes on his back, she would dismiss his actions for now.

Faolan listened to what Zia had to tell him in it's hushed tones, then came back to the front room and sat at the table. He reached over and ran a finger down the back of Dreamer's hand gently, then moved to shuffle the cards, setting them before her.
"Cut the deck and draw a card. Let's see what the tarot has to say," he purred, watching her with half-closed eyes.
