Mirelle flumped down against a tree and sighed. She still wasn't quite sure what had possessed her to go over and try to talk to Kouji. She had fled when she realized she hadn't flirted with anyone for five years. She exhaled and looked up at the evening sky. With that new cat, Satine, Mirelle was worried that she wouldn't get a chance to even get to know Kouji before he was occupied.
...guh, get a grip, girl. you've beat the crap out of tomcats twice his size, you can handle yourself just fine...
Mirelle sighed again and got up, thinking that she would take a walk before going home.

Kouji stretched as he made his way back to NyanMan's making note to keep and eye for for a blanket and pillow for Persy. It was too bad he didn't have luck with women, every girl he's liked had either gone and disappeared or found someone else. Just his luck, but oh well.
He caught sight of the tiny Mirelle and waved to her. "Hey there!" he called out. He wasn't quite sure why she had run off earlier after a quick hello. But he was sure it had been important for her to dash off like she did. His larger than normal ears perked forward and a grin crossed his face. He was friendly with basically every cat in Ikebokuro, sure he belonged to NyanMan's but he held ties to basically all the territories, he guessed it came from doing a lot of Spinner's work.

Mirelle blushed and was immediately thankful it was evening.
"H-Hello!" She called back. Dammit, she was already tongue-tied.
"Sorry i ran off earlier. I..." Mirelle stopped herself.
OK. You will calm down now or so help me, I will never let you live this down.
Mirelle took a deep breath and stuck out her hand.
"Can we start over? It was Kouji, right?"

Kouji gave a slightly awkward grin as though he were almost trying not to laugh, and was all the same curious. "It's no big deal, we've all got stuff to take care of now and then." he said with a shrug.
Kouji was a little surprised at the formal gesture. He took the tiny cats hand and shook it. "Sure why not...yeah, Kouji, and you're Mirelle." he said with a half grin. His promise to nab Persy her fish still on his mind. But he had time to chat for a bit, the garbage wouldn't come down for a little while yet, he just wanted to make sure that he got there first to ward anyone off, not to mention get himself a decent meal.
((OMG! I just realized who Mirelle reminds me of! Agent Paper from Read or Die! 8D ))

"Yeah... that's me." Mirelle replied, cringing inwardly.
"So, umm, do you have any stuff to take care of? I mean, i don't want to hold you up or anything."
Mirelle felt entirely awkward. Completely taken off-guard by Kouji's appearance, she was at a loss about what to say. She wasn't sure whether or not she wanted him to be busy or not. Half of her wanted him to stay and talk to her, just show that she could so that she wasn't a stammering idiot. the other half of her wanted him to be busy so that she could gather her thoughts before trying to talk to him again. Or, maybe she could go with him, what ever he was doing...
Then at least we'd have something to talk about...

Kouji shook his head. "Not this exact moment. Told Persy I'm make sure I grab her a fish tonight from the garbage. I got a tip off, but that won't be for a while yet that it comes down to the basement. So I'm good to chill for a bit." he said with a shrug. He was mainly oblivious to Mirelle's nervousness, but he wasn't the most observant of cats.
Being an Abyssinian made Kouji a cat with a short attention span, he was easily distracted, but he always did keep to his word at least no matter how scatter-brained he could be.
"So you're new around here...where'd you come from?" he asked tilting his head slightly, he always liked to see where the newcomers came from. So many different places and background, he found his own quite dull though.

Mirelle exhaled inwardly.
"Well," Mirelle chuckled, "I suppose you could say that I've been hiding in an alley for the last five years of my life. But before that I was a shop cat. What about you?"
Somehow, Mirelle didn't want to disclose everything about her life. Certainly not her years in the alley, at least not now. As for her life in the shop, she wasn't quite sure where exactly it was. She figured it had to be in the area, but she had never gone looking for it.
Another reason she didn't disclose everything was so that she could at least have something else to talk about later.
if there is a later...

The Abyssinian's face broke into a reminiscent smile. "I used to live with a woman who had a strong love for kids. She'd take every orphan off the street she could find and took care of them. We lived in a little apartment and her and the kids didn't quite fit after a while so she moved and sorta left me behind. I don't think she really did it on purpose though, I think there was so much to do in packing up and moving the kids that I just sorta got lost in the mess you know..." he said shaking his head.
he held no disdain for his old owner, she had taken very good care of him when they had been together and he hadn't minded the kids at all.
"But that's my simple story..I left the apartment and Spinner picked me off the streets and brought me to NyanMan's and I've been there since." Kouji shrugged.
"Have you settled in a Territory yet?" he asked tilting his head, large ears perked forward.

"Not really, no. I'm thinking about the Kokitsu Plaza, though." said Mir.
Inwardly Mir was groaning and shouting at herself. he assertive side was screaming at her to say something more interesting.
What the heck would I say?
Something, anything!
But i just met the guy!

I can't just tell him I like him straight off the bat! It'll scare him off...
DO IT WOMAN!
Cringing inwardly, Mir plucked up her courage and, grasping the hem of her skirt, she said "Kouji, i think you are cute! And even though we just met I'd like to get to know you more!"
Mir's eyes went wide and she blushed deeply.

"Not too many cat there..." he nodded thinking of the Plaza. Never a shortage of food there, that was for sure.
Kouji blinked at Mirelle's outburst that she liked him, but being the way he was he didn't take it quite for what she meant.
He patted Mir on the shoulder smiling. "You're pretty cute yourself Mirelle." he said continuing. "I wouldn't mind getting to know you a bit better. Can't say much for the moment being this is our first real run in." he said looking off into nothingness as he thought. He snapped himself out of the daze quickly and noticed the blush on Mir's face. "Hey don't sweat it, just come drop by the Mansion any time and I'm usually there." he grinned.

Mir's blush lessened and she smiled awkwardly back at Kouji. Well that didn't go as bad as it could have."Umm... ok. Thank you." She smiled more openly. Well, he may be a little slow, but at least he thinks I'm cute too. That's a start.
"So i guess I'm just going to have to run into you again some time, or we'll never get to know each other, huh?"
There now, aren't you more comfortable now that you got that off your chest? Mir said to her self.
She blushed slightly and smiled again at Kouji

"Sure thing." he said scratching at his ear. That was becoming an odd habit of his, he'd better learn to control it before he scratched the fur right off...that wouldn't be too good.
"Yeah, for sure. I'm always running around or sitting back at the Mansion. Spinner sends me off to do her work sometimes because she feels to lazy to do it herself." he sighed shaking his head. "She's a nut job that one." he muttered more to himself than anything, though he was sure Mirelle could hear him.
"So, I gotta ask, what took you so long to get rid of the collar? That thing must've been getting pretty tight after a while there." he asked tilting his head in curiosity.

Mir thought about that question seriously. She wasn't really sure how to answer. She thought about her time in the alley and afterward. It was a honest question and it deserved and a thought out answer.
"Well... i got rid of my collar pretty early on after I was abandoned... but I guess in a way I was still carrying it around... I was... very bitter for a long time after, so i guess I just recently "took off my collar" in the truest sense."
Mir laughed and a grinned wryly. "It was actually Aidan who helped me start to change."
She laughed again, "So, enough about me for a bit, how about you? What sort of jobs does this Spinner have you do?"

Kouji nodded, he'd held onto his for quite some time himself and it had been hard to part with it. In fact he still had his collar, clamped around his wrist.
The Aby opened his mouth to speak and shut it to think...what exactly was he he did for Spinner? Well that was obvious, anything she was too lazy to do herself.
"Well really it's anything she's too lazy to do herself so I'll be suck doing anything from inventory, to checking up on territories, welcoming new cats and so on really. Usually it's stupid work though that I end up doing." he said shrugging. It really wasn't anything special at all, at least not to him.

Mir laughed, "Fair enough." She looked around at the darkness. Now that she wasn't so bloody nervous, she realised how tired she was.
Though the company was wonderful, Mir figured she should probably be getting home now.
"Well, Kouji, it was nice meeting you properly, but I think I should be heading home now." She said, smiling warmly at him.
