Definition of a Myuse

Physical Features: Myuse's come in a variety of colors but are always humaniod. Their skin, hair, and eyes can be just about any color that you can imagin. They range in size anywhere from about four and a half feet to a little over six feet tall. Myuse's typically have humanish or elvish features with special accents in accordance to their gender.

* Wings: Male or female Myuse's can have wings. These wings are alway too small to give the Myuse the ability to naturally fly, and they can easily be folded against the middle of the Myuse's back to be hidden. The wing's of a Myuse are normally feathered, with occasionally butterfly or dragon wings popping up on the random rare Myuse.

* Ears: Male or Female Myuse's can have either humanish shaped ears, or long pointed ears that jut out from their head rather then pointing strait up.

* Horns: Only Male Myuse's have horns. They are very small, no more then two or three inch's in length. The horns can be of any varity of color and typically point upwards in the manner likened to being devil styled

* Tails: Only Female Myuse's have tails. The tail of a female Myuse is always tied into the type of Wings she has. If she has feathered wings the tail will typically be tipped with feathers, if the tail is draconic it will normally be scaled or have a devilish point, if the female has butterfly wings the tail tends to be tipped with hair in the manner of a unicorns tail. Wingless females can have any type of tail, including some rather unusual styles.

Passion: This single word sums up the entierty of the Myuse. Passion and the essence of creativity creates a sort of energy that a Myuse is able to sense and absorb in a empathic manner. It should be noted that this gathering of energy does not impact the subject in the least. It's like standing near a fire and being bathed in the warmth of it's flames. The fire is not impacted in the least by the presence and the heat is not diminished in any way. This energy becomes a part of a Myuse's very life essence and fules them and their magic. Consider it a sort of a waterskin in which the Myuse stores the energy the way one would water. A slow steady trickle is constantly being spilled from the waterskin. This trickle fuels the Myuse's life, keeping them alive and healthy. Should the trickle begin to thin the Myuse becomes ill, and should the trickle run out...well...that's it then. The end. A Myuse who runs out of this energy simply vanishes into a whisp of smoke.

Obtaining Passion: In order to draw off the Passion or Creativity of another creature, a Myuse must be within close proximity of their subject. The closer they are to their subject the stronger the energy they may absorb. For example, a Myuse who is obtaining energy from a Painter would only need be in their presence as they work on a new piece of artwork to obtain the energies created by the subject. A Myuse who wishs to obtain Passion from a singer needs only be able to hear their voice to collect the energy behind the words. Mind you, the subject must in fact feel a passion for what they are doing. A singer who is merely singing the words but feels nothing for the song they are giving voice to will not put off any energy for a Myuse to absorb. The painter who is merely copying another work of art and has no strong feelings of creativity is much the same way.

There are, of course, other Passions that are quite strong. The Passion for warfare for example. Or a passion for Love. Individuals who have these Passions can produce large emounts of energy to fuel a Myuse. The warrior who loves combat and testing their skills may attract a Myuse who may take up a weapon to fight alongside the warrior for a time. The lover who is attempting to woo a maiden may attract a Myuse who would act as a aid in writing love letters, researching the maidens interests, and delivering gifts on behalf of the subject. There are many different Passions that can draw a Myuse, though rarely does a Myuse remain indefinatly with a subject. Like being infused with Wanderlust, a Myuse craves exposure to different types of Passion which can help them grow 'older' as it were.

Growing a Myuse

Birth: A Myuse is born when two Myuse's share the experience a moment of pure Passion between each other. This can be in the form of lovemaking, or merely being wrapped up in each others arms watching the stars. Shared Passion makes the two Myuse's closer to the point their own energy stores mingle, and produce a new Myuse should they choose to. How long the moment of Passion is shared determins how much energy a newly born Myuse is created with, and this determins how long the Myuse has to live. Most newborn Myuse's have only enough energy to live from six months to a year.

There is no 'Incubation' period or pregnacy when a Myuse is born between two Myuses. Thus gender has no part in the creation of the newborn and a pair of same gender Myuse's can create a newborn. A pure Myuse born child will take the shape of a young toddler, around the ages of 4 or 5 years old and will typically remain in the care of one or both parents for a year or so before wandering off to find their own inspired and creative individual to gather Passion from. It is not unheard of for a Myuse to linger longer with a parent if there is a ready source of Passion to feed from, and likewise it is not unheard of a much younger Myuse lured off by a passing individual filled with creative and passionate potential.

In the case of a inter-racial breeding, a Myuse is created and carried in the same manner the non-Myuse's parent's line would carry a child. Meaning a Myuse may impregnate a female, and a female Myuse may in turn be impregnated by a different species. While the resulting child may have Myuse like pyhsical traits gained from their Myuse parent, everything else about them is derived from the Non-Myse parent. From magic to length of life. A halfbreed Myuse does not have the empathy of a full blood Myuse. They can not sense Passion nor can they draw off it. As a result, they do not gain the magical gifts of their Myuse parent. A halfblood myuse that is given wings from the Myuse side of their bloodline, but lacks the ability to cast the magical floating spell will be incapable of flight. A halfbreed Myuse may, however, be particularly gifted with creativity or be very passionate themselves.

Species Specifics: Pure bourn Myuse's are very rarely created. In any one year a handful of Myuse's may actually be born. The life span of a Myuse is a caparious one. Born with little energy, and still a bit too young to be fully capable of useing their magic in a conservative manner, many young Myuse's do not survive their first year of life. Less then a quarter of any generation honestly survive.
