I hope you don't mind me asking, but what exactly is a Dedication? And a Re-Dedication, for that matter? Is it like exchanging vows with your loved one? Or does it have something to do with the Craft?
bare with me, i have an ear load.
Usually after one year and a day (which is a full 13 moon cycle) of studying it, a person can choose to dedicate themselves to the world and the Craft. A Dedication is a ritual right usually on the same night of the day you were born. (Born on a Monday, you perform the ritual on another Monday of your birthday. which is about every several years.) My first dedication was done in 2007 on July, 6th... it was a Friday. That marked my constant study and practice of the entire Wiccan Year. Sadly, that day will always be remembered as a bad day, because as soon as I was done, my mother brought me some ill spirits. She, at the time, wasn't okay with this life choice I made.
So I've decided to re-do one this weekend.
And that wont happen this time either. Our time up north will be cut short. So the most I'll get is a partial clear head and a crap-load of meditation on the beach.
But, still. Anyone who has any questions for me or any comments about their dedication, please feel free.
Of course, I do know how a dedication is usually very sacred for some people, so for those of you who do feel that way, you are not obligated at all to take part in this thread.
