The air after a rain was delicious. Blood pounded in her veins like music through speakers. Days like this were why life was worth living. She let the diminishing humidity carry her lightly to the ground. She could have danced more, the air was still damp, but sometimes solid ground was good too. She was a piece of art as she descended prancingly down, and she knew it. Know it, but the only one she showed off for was herself. There was no one around, anyway. At least.. there hadn't been. As she danced the last steps to the ground, she spied the male. Never before had she seen his like, but that hadn't mattered. What mattered was that he was injured. She stopped beside him. "Are you alright?" she asked, eyes wide in worry. She didn't do serious emotions often, but that was by choice of life style, not because she was frail.

He lay in a heap, half a mile short of the nightmare valley. His wings were bloodied and tattered, his horn cracked, blood oozed from numerous cuts. He was in bad shape, barely even conscious. He definitely wasn't able to answer her.
In his own mind, he was drowning in darkness. He felt as though something was reaching up from the depths, wrapping a skeletal hand around his ankle and dragging him down. It was vital that he fight, vital that he not give in... but he was weakening rapidly. He didn't want to go down there.... it was dangerous... he knew, instinctively, that he wouldn't survive.

She swore softly and took to the air again. A quick dance got her above the trees, but she saw no healers in sight. Sighing she danced to some patches of herbs and began gathering them, dancing back to his side to set them down. Finally when she had gathered all that she could find that might be of help, she alighted beside him. She shoved a few leaves into his mouth that she knew to be good for killing pain, as she crushed another between her hooves, making a strong scent spice out to rouse him.

He coughed when something was shoved into his mouth. The small distraction was enough to give the darkness enough time to swallow him. And just like that, he was lost. For a minute, he stilled, unconscious. Then he coughed again and opened one green, reptilian eye. "Who...."

"So you still live?" she asked quietly, dancing up on the air a half inch, then back down again. "I don't know too much medicine, so you'll have to bear with me. Okay?"

Rambling.... someone was rambling... who... what.... he tried to concentrate on the words. Something about medicine and bearing with....
"Who?" he muttered, not really sure what he was asking, just that it was important.

She gave him a smile. "Free flight. Those wings of yours, we'll get you flying high in no time. Okay, kiddo?" she asked as she grabbed a stone and began pulping the innards from an Aloe frond.

"Wings..." he repeated, trying to process. Wings... free flight... those things went together, yes? Yes... birds had wings and they flew... what did that have to do with him? "What?"

"Sorry, don't mind me, babbling. Not exactly used to playing the care taker. Okay this may hurt." she said as she began to rub the aloe gently into his smashed horn.

He hissed, jerking away from her then hissed again when the movement caused more pain.

She found a place he wasn't injured and kicked him lightly. "I warned you. Now keep still, will you."

He groaned as she hit him on a hidden bruise. There was no place that didn't hurt. Was this wench the one who had put him in so much pain? She certainly seemed bound and determined to keep him that way... He lay still, panting with the effort it had taken to jerk away the first time.

"IT hurts, sorry, but sometimes to heal a wound, it takes a drop more pain. I've heard that said anyway. That and if it's stinging that means it's working. never made sense to me, but seems to be true." she shrugged and put some aloe on his side gently. And I did warn you, I'm not the nurse type. I'm doing my best. You're a mess."

He certainly felt like he was a mess. everything ached, even his eye lashes. He was such a mass of pain that he couldn't really tell what he had. He couldn't feel any clothes or claws or anything and... now that he thought about it, he couldn't remember what he should be able to feel. Or why he was so mangled up. "Why?"

"Why?" she asked as she worked. "Oh, because that would mean schooling, and too much sitting in one place makes my feet itch."
