Name: Kim Nguyet Meaning: Golden Moon Age: 23 Date of Birth: January 20, 1984 Place of Birth: New Orleans, Louisiana Height: 5'2 (thanks to the neck) Weight: 120lb Build: Medium, a bit of a pear shape Skin tone: Brown Eyes: Yellow, slanted, with no white anymore. Hairs: Raven Black, ankle-length, held up in a ponytail with a few loose bangs styled to frame her face and cover her forehead midrift lenght, left loose, with a few bangs missing at the front.Distinctive Features: Scar caused by a screwdriver on the side of her left wrist. Tiny needle pricks on the tip of her fingers from blood testing. Too many to count.Medical Conditions: Diabetic - requires insulin injections she administrates herself to control her blood sugar. Relatively weak immune system. Likes: VIDEO GAMES !!!! Computers, gadgets, discovering new things, music, diet coke (in moderation, still) FishDislikes: Huge groups, people who judge others on apparence, being forced to be social, travel, fishPersonality: When you see Kim, one would most likely think an adorable, girly little bit of woman... Cute but very ditzy and not all that smart, right ? The second she opens her mouth, however, she shatters all this in moments and become a Geek with a capital G. Kim is into anything computer, technical, into every gadget that goes beep at random intervals, and, most important of all, video games. From 8-bit console to modern 3d and even virtual headsets, you name it, she probably has and enjoys it in some shape or form. Next to this, her second big obsession is music. Gifted with an open mind but a dislike of travel, she is open to and enjoy music from around the world, from American to Japanese, Russian, and beyond. She's not the most social of people, but not really withdrawn, either - she dislike crowds, however, and prefer to only met a few people at a time, and while she's easy going and tends to get along with everyone as long as she does not feel threatened in some form, she usually has very few close friends she is willing to say everything to. Kim is very smart, but also very emotive, hurt easily, and physically weak - a simple cold ended up with her in the hospital before, due to complications. She also needs to test her sugar level often, eat at very specific times, and is always carrying something to eat on her and her tester just in case. While some people would have been completely destroyed by all those problems and needs, Kim got used to them, and would ratter look at the good in life than the bad. She does her best to keep a positive and cheerful outlook on life, and takes her days one at the time. Since her first injection, Kim has definitively longed for the presence of others more, and doesn't mind crowds as much as she used to. A trait of her's seemed to also strengthen - her dislike from being impliqued in comflict. She is much more likely to bend to someone's will, for the benefit of the "group", and can easely be startled and spooked by raising voices. She'lld much ratter give in than attempt to negociate if it came to tension and screams, and as sutch, is easely intimidated. ------------------------------------------------------- Oh, right, there was one other rule I forgot: Accidents happen.

While from Vietnam, Kim has never seen her home country. Her parents moved out while her mother was pregnant, and she instead was born in Louisiana on January 20, a few weeks after her parents managed to settle, and her father found a job as a repairman mere days afterward. When she was 6. First she began to feel dizzy randomly. Her teacher thought she was making it up to get out of class and told her to suck it up, but about 3 days later, she fainted, and when taken to the hospital, the diagnostic proved to be juvenile diabetes. Adding this to Kim's already weak immune system, the whole became ratter delicate, but she managed. The first few months where hell. Kim was scared of needles, and it was a fight each time to just get the blood sample, and even more to get the actual insulin in her system. But time passed... and the sight of her mother in tears after a particularly tense fight made the young girl realize that she had to accept this, not only for her own good and health, but for those she cared for. The first few days where hard, but it was evident that the little girl was making an effort. A month afterward, she could watch the needle without flinching and finally, by the time she turned 7, she gave herself her own injections, and the family was finally peaceful again, save for a few emergency hospital trips. Due to her weak nature and natural curiosity, she turned to video games and technology for pastimes, loving nothing more than take something apart, and rebuild it from scratch. At least, it was calm for a few years. When Kim was 12, her father was murdered while coming home from work by a few high teenagers, for no other reason that they felt like killing someone was a good idea, and he was the first on their path. Having lost the only man she had ever loved, Kim's mother slowly felt into depression, with only her daughter to keep her afloat. Her worst fear was the Kim would be the next to die... and she swore that somehow, she would manage to keep her daughter alive. Kim was also heartbroken by the loss of her father, but, again, pushed her fear and grief aside for the good of her mother, spending it on the few friends she had at school. Her mom, having been at home all of her daughter's life, managed to find a job as a maid to keep them afloat, while the young girl repaired things like computers, tvs, etc. to her best ability on the side. Due to all this, however, she flunked grade 7 and had to retake it. Kim and her mother continued to live as they could, one day at the time, until she finally graduated from college at 21 in game design and managed to find work very easily as she could also act as a technician on the side. Kim was to the stage of her life where she was preparing to move out of the nest, so to speak, but before she could even start, her mother found an ad in the journal about an experiental cure for diabetes, that would require her to stay on a tropical island for about a month. She would have none of it... but eventually her mother won, and she was on her way to the island far too soon, in her opinion. ------------------------------------------------------- I've always wondered why we're here on this island. If there are any other worlds out there, why did we end up on this one? And suppose there are other worlds... then ours is just a little piece of something much greater.

Dr Moreau - King b***h b*****d the first. Creepy a*****e's the reason im stuck here, and why everyone is here, and why this is all happening. I hate him so much I do not think I can put it into words. Jamal - He's pretty much okay as long as he's not high. But then it's what could be said of most of the world's population. Awen - She's my downstair neighboor, but I havn't seen her in AGES. It's pretty wierd. I think we're both in for a shock when we do meet again - I was human when we last saw each other, and she was just starting, so... Colche - Colche... she's the first transformed islander I actually saw. She's so sweet... she seems to have the mind of a little girl even if she seems about as old as me. It was nice to read with her however, and her party was fun too. Hargun - Hargun's the one who told me about this whole mess, and im glad she hadn't tried to lie to me or whatever. I havn't seen her in a long time as well... I worry about her. Pyroth - Pyroth's really nice to talk to. He seems almost like an actual coyote... You couldn't guess he ever was human if you didn't know. Is... this what avaits us all ? Chana - I freaked her out, and I never got to apologize for it... Man I felt like s**t that night. Greer - Left after Chana left at the cafeteria. We didn't talk long but she seemed okay. Havn't seen her in awhile. Joliette - Why is it always those who doesn't deserve it that go though s**t ? I hope she's okay. Another I havn't seen in a long time. Father Stewart - Greer told me about a priest... it it him ? Anyway, the guy was freaking out something fierce so I did my best to help... Lauren - She was there with me when I tried to calm down the guy I think is the priest. She got really sick and ran off tho. It was pretty odd. Amaya - Amaya saved my a** during the lockout, enough said. She found me after I transformed for the first time. I really like her... I consider her one of my closest friends. Cassidy - Cass got a combinaison serum. Some kind of snake and bird. That's what she thought I was, but she was there when we.... figured it out. Thank god she was there. She's really nice too, another person I consider a close friend. Rex - Met him right after the lockout and spazzed out. Great work, Kim. -_- Ambrose - I keep seeing this guy around, but I can't ever seem to get to talk to him ! Seems to be some kind of wolf. Aubrey - She was clueless at the cafeteria after the lockout, and then I heard she got wounded... Why are people trying to kill her ? Even if she's a staff member, she looks too kind to deserve this... Chubbs - This guy looks SCARY, no doubt about it, but he's like a giant teddybear. He cheered me up when I definitively needed it. Bobby - Poor dear. They're turning her into some kind of pig... She doesn't deserve this. She's too kind. Im sure she would have kicked my a** at DDR in normal circumstances. Nathan - I think I really creeped the poor guy out... x.x Cody - Why those little stupid a*****e nolife doctors ! Why the hell is a little KID in here ?! Don't they have any consience at all ! ...Well, that asside, Cody's pretty sweet. He took my changes well - after all, what little boy doesn't like dinosaurs ? I get this strong urge to protect him - the same that I get with Colche. I think it's pack instinct. Or something stupid that might get me beaten up one day. Aislinn - ...I had to tell her. I... I never... want to do this again... Shenzi - Man, that girl can dance. A gryphon, however ? That doesn't sound like a pleasant experience. I hope she'll be okay... Jordan - Liar. It's amazing that I didn't punch your face out. Sophie - She helped Jordan out at the party. She looks like a nice girl, I hope ill get to see her again. Maryke - She was at the party, too, a friend of Jordan I guess ? Her dress was wonderful and she was very nice too. Miller - He... erm... Well I guess he is nice enough ? ------------------------------------------------------- The heart may be weak, and sometimes it may even give in. This is not a list of EVERYTHING... just major events in her life on the island.11/13/05 - Kim arrives on the island. 11/29/05 - Kim learns the truth... and reacts... the best she could have reacted, probabely. 12/25/05 - First christmas on the island, gets a clay heart from Hargun and a PSP (!) from Moreau, 01/02/06 - The lockout begins... She wakes at a mountain with Jamal but they separated. 01/20/06 - Kim's 22nd brithday, but it is not celebrated, as she is lost in the jungle with no way to tell the time. That, and it was the last thing on her mind at that point ! 01/22/06 - Kim gets a run-in with one of the animal experients - a deer with bird parts. She is, of course, freaked out. 02/01/06 - First transformation ! Lost in the wildness, Kim passes out afterward as she become partially cold-blooded and the temperature starts to affect her. 03/04/06 - The lockout ends. 04/01/06 - April fools ! Kim is... not amused. 05/05/06 - A huge storm, and the chip knocks Kim out. 05/07/06 - One of the staff members was attacked ?! 05/31/06 - Kim gets a run in with Dr Frost, is givem pills "for her joints", and has a sting of nightmare for the next few weeks before she simpely stop to take them. 06/27/06 - Second transformation ! Alone in her duplex. 07/01/06 - Kim finall figures out what she is turning into... and is why she had problem truly believing it... She's got to come to the evidence that she is becoming something truly out of this world. 07/03/06 - She freaks someone out for the first time ! Awww. >_> 08/31/06 - At the beach bar, Kim finally drinks for the first time, and realise hard lemonade is pretty damn good. 10/31/06 - Kim goes to the halloween party dressed up a Hisen-ko/Let Let from Darkstalkers, and hangs out a bit before leaving, sparing her the trauma of Sabin's halloween trail. 12/16/06 - Kim finally gets to face the animal instincts she's been mostly repressing until now, and it... tries to teach her to fish. XD 12/05/06 - Second Christmas on the island. Gets a beautiful painted seashell from Cody. 01/12/07 - Third transformation ! Unfortunaly alone in her duplex... This is how she meets Jordan, on the beach. 01/20/07 - 23rd brithday ! And this one is celebrated in a way that makes up for last year's, we believe. Kim and Jordan are now an item =D ------------------------------------------------------- A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory.

This is what Kim brought along with her on the island : - Enough clean clothes for one month - Actual shoes and a pair of hiking boots - A few photos of her family when she was young, and current photographs of her mother. - Her game systems, games, and booklet (see next post) - A few posters and photographs of games, movies, or group/singers - Black Ipod Nano (screen full of scratches. Grrr.) - A koala plushie, given by her father - Vanilla body spray, lip balm, comb, other supplies of the genre ------------------------------------------------------- Exactly. That's why we need to go out there and find out. Just sitting here won't change a thing. It's the same old stuff. So let's go.

PSP + Prince of Persia: Revolations+ Kingdom of Paradise + Peter Jackson's: King Kong + Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex + Dynasty Warriors + Lumines: Puzzle Fusion Xmas gift from Moreau She's got Jordan's glasses now, and wear them around her neck with the ends hooked to a sting, since she can't really wear them any other way. Nintendo Wii + Twillight Princess - birthday gift from Jordan~ ------------------------------------------------------- The Keyblade has chosen him. Will it be he who conquers the darkness? Or will the darkness swallow him? Either way, he could be quite useful...

As if Kim's geekness needed to be proved. razz While a game designer, she is quite the fanatic herself... prefering RPGs but playing most of anything, as well has having a collection that would literally fill shelves upon shelves. She's not really a collector... she buys what she plays, and she very obiviously did not bring ALL of this to the island, and what she brought with her in is bold. She also can plug in most of the consoles she brought into her laptop screen with an adapter. Not the best gaming screen ever, but better than nothing. Also, most of her systems are modded to play import games as well. But well... collector or not, writting things down is a good reminder of what you have and what you don't. Kim keeps everything listed, separated by systems, in a little notebook she forgot in her bag and thus, brought along with her. The cartriges are stored in bigger boxes, and the cds in special albums, to maximise space. Kim lives in Duplex 22, which is upstairs. The whole isn't exactly in her tastes, but was slowly made better though the months by requesting things from the labs as she grew the courage to do so, and some personal touches.  ------------------------------------------------------- Thinking of you, wherever you are...

0% - Nothing physically, but Kim is starting to find fish a bit tasty... Also dreams and slight physical illnesses. 25% - Bump on her head, longer pinkies, had her hair cut to hip-length afterward. Mentally she now eat fish at least once every day. 50% - Wings start growing in, her skin becomes scaly and reptilian-like, her eyes change (so she doesn't/can't wear glasses anymore) the bump become more fin-like, her feet grow claws. Mentally she now eats fish at every meal, and some instincts start to manifest more. 75% - Eyes become a bright yellow, her head-fin grows more, separating her hair in two distinct sides, her wings continue growing in, leb webbing grow in. Mentally... more instincts are present and she considers that there is two side of her - the human side and the animal side, who live alongside and usually work torward the same goal without conflicting too much. She's got a more defined pack instinct and now mostly hunts her fish. ------------------------------------------------------- Hey, it's like that old goat says: Rule 11: It's all just a game, so let lose and have fun with it! I mean, a casualty or two along the way is no big deal, right?

TRIASSIC to CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 228 - 65 million years ago The Pterodactyl was a flying reptile of the order Pterosauria. They existed from the late Triassic to the Cretaceous Periods (228 - 65 million years ago) with the earlier Triassic species having long, fully toothed jaws and long tails. The later forms had a stump for a tail, no teeth and a jaw more like a beak than the elongated jaw of the earlier species. At least 60 general types been found with sizes ranging from a sparrow to monsters with wingspans in excess of 40 feet! The wings were thin membranes of skin, similar to the wings of bats, and extended along the sides of the body. They were attached to the extraordinarily long fourth finger of each arm. The bones were hollow and had openings at each end. Unlike typical reptiles, they had a breastbone that was developed for the attachment of flight muscles and a brain that was more developed than comparable dinosaurs of similar sizes. There is no fossil evidence of feathers. Most researchers now believe that they were adapted for active flight, not just gliding as was earlier believed. Pterodactyls where also proved to be carnivores, eating mostly fish and insects, lived in flocks and lived in trees or caves, as well as near the sea. Art Contest Reference Post ! :3 In a nutshell : Kim looks very girly, but doesn't really act like it. Her two biggest passions are video games and music, in this order. For consoles, she has a Dreamcast, a PS2, a Gamecube, an X-box, a Nintendo DS that she brought with her to the island, and a PSP and a Wii that she got as gifts afterward. She is very Twillight Princess crazed at the moment. XD She also has a black ipod nano she can be drawn with, only with special headphones, a bit like gaia's dj headphones, instead of the earbuds. She listen to a wide variety of music, from any style and any country in the world. Other, lesser hobbies would be reading (mangas and science-fiction, mostly) and to an extent, anime. She is relatively shy still, but has opened up a great deal since she came to the island and started changing. She's got a very passive personality, quick to slide into a passive acceptance of things she feels she cannot easely change, but is slowly starting to develop a protective streak for those she consider her "pack", subconciously. However, she is still most likely to try to talk things out, or if she is alone, flee, than actually fight. She is a bit of a closet romantic - she loves big fancy candle dinners... but isn't going to turn down a video game match either. Her favorite colors are pinks and purples (any shade) and this reflect on her clothing alot. She tends to wear girly, fitted tops with pants (pre-75%) or short skirts (post-75%). She is also a bit spacy, and usually attempts to double or triple tasking (like... playing an handheld, listening to music, and walking in a straight line) and usually fails. She's even tripped on Cass's tail once. XD Her most precious items : A standard gray koala plushie given to her by her father a few months before he died, the silver locket that had a recent (pre-island) photo of her and her mother on the left side, and a photo of her (about 8 or 9 years old) with her father. She is always wearing it. People she can be drawn with : She consider Amaya, Cassidy and Nita her closest friends on the island, even if she has not seen them in awhile. Colche and Cody are like younger sibilings to her, and she would do her best to protect them if needed. She dated Jordan briefly, but they broke up. Im not hard to please. biggrin If you would like some ideas of pictures I would expecially like to have... With Amaya, Cass, Nita - Pretty much any friendly-like picture, hanging out, eating together, or something. Doesn't have to be anything that happened ic. With Colche - Having them reading together, no matter the %. When they first met, Colche and Kim read a book together. biggrin Or watching a disney movie. With Cody - Teaching him how to use chopsticks. This hasn't really happened in rp, but it's been stuck in my mind since Briv mentioned it. XD The earliest possible "states" for this pic are Kim at 50% and Cody at 0% A bunch of ideas in a nutshell - 50% Kim dressed up as Lei Lei / Hisen-ko from Darkstalkers (Pretty much the gaia chinese ghost costume), Kim in the same dress that Kairi wears in KH2 (the pink one, ill dig a reference later), Kim using a wiimote as a mock keyblade/lightsaber, Kim having to become really creative to continue playing videogames as her hands become more and more unusable (playing with your feet come to mind...) ------------------------------------------------------- I'm looking for someone.
