User ImageThe young adult female was on the move today. She didn't know where she was going, but she was certainly in a hurry to get there. She liked to run fast. Being a cheetah, this wasn't entirely surprising.

What she liked about it, though, was what she heard people say after they saw her. Sometimes she would double back, or stop abruptly, and hear others comment on the streak of sky that had been flying past. That was what people always seemed to notice. She liked it.

Running at full speed, the only thing that could catch her now was another cheetah. But, really, what were the chances of her running into one out here?

Kallionstiryne was just being his normal self. He could go anywhere, and be happy that he wasn't tied down to one spot. He loved running and feeling the cold breeze in his fur. Though, today, he was enjoying a easy walk with no running. At least not yet. He loved a challenge, even if it was seeing what cheetah ran farther. Though, he hardly did that, since he could only sprint and not do long distances, as well as he'd never seen another cheetah in so long.

Not until today. He saw something moving fast. At first it was hard to see, cause how she looked. Dark greens that looked almost like wet rocks, and water? He watched her move fast. He could beat her, he said in his mind as he smirked. His quiet day turned out to be a great one full of running? Heck yes. He waited a few moments as she passed him, giving her a bit of a start, then started to trot, which quickly went into a sprint towards her. His green body was easily seen in any open area, unless it too was the same green as him.

His markings consisted of four wings on his back, two on each side. A gift from the gods that showed him that he should be a free spirit perhaps? He didn't know what the wings meant, though sometimes he wished they weren't markings and really just attached to his body. He longed to fly one day, but didn't know how that would go. The closest thing to flying was when he ran.

It looked like he was chasing her, at least for a moment or two as he was a few feet behind her, yet slowly gaining. Of course, he really wasn't that fast, but he liked to believe he was. His tail out keeping his balance as he moved fastly down the hard earth beneath him.

Enjoying her run, Poro didn't notice the green splotch of a cheetah as she raced by, thinking it some odd pile of bright grass or something, and not giving it a second thought. She had wind in her ears and the feel of speed in her feet, her muscles aching in the best way as she pushed herself in her run. She felt like she could go on for days, but knew reality would set in and she'd tire soon.

Still, it was great while it lasted.

Slowing slightly, she caught the sound of a second pair of feet beating over the earth and she looked over her shoulder to see that odd pile of bright green grass was right on her tail, and moving closer. She blinked. That wasn't grass! It was a cheetah!

She grinned. Did he want to race? She was already tired, but she had nothing against giving him a run for his money. Nodding at him with a broad smile on his face, indicating that she had seen him and wanted to play, she turned to face forward and forced her feet to move as fast as they could.

She finally noticed him, and didn't take long to notice he wanted to have a bit of a fun run. It was no fun with just himself, but another made it more challenging. Which was what he loved seeing. As soon as she started moving faster, he pushed himself to go faster. He didn't care who ran faster, he just needed that little bit of motivation to get him to run his fullest. Most cheetahs could probably beat him if they tried. He wasn't especially fast. Though, he wasn't the slowest cheetah either. Which was probably good, or he'd have some type of personality problem from growing up and being made fun of by the other cheetah cubs.

All he could hear was the wind hitting his ears as he moved by. Breathing hard, he didn't have much run in him left, but he'd try until he couldn't breath anymore. Which wouildn't be long, of course.

Poromoko let out a laugh as she ran, glad to see him playing along with her. She ran with him, tiring but letting out whoops and letting out long, loud laughs as she tore across the plains. She like him already!

Abruptly she came to a stop, needing to catch her breath. She didn't have any indicators and she didn't let out a call to warn of her sudden change of speed, but it didn't strike her to worry about him racing by her or, if he were right on her tail, crashing right into her.

She was tired and couldn't run any more. That was all she was thinking about.

The sounds of their paws hitting the ground became like thunder as they raced. Though, she stopped right in front of him. He swerved out of the way and stopped too, though in doing so it made him kinda crash as he did so, rolling a few times before completely stopping. Though, it didn't take long before he bounced up. "I'm ok!" he said as he looked around for the female. He didn't get a good look at her, but knew she was a greenish blue.

When he finally got a good look at her, her markings were quite odd. Though, that intrigued him. She looked as if she had some type of panting on her that some hairless creature did while she was sleeping. "Wow, you look almost as if some type of.... whats the word..... Image of land scape." She was like a tiny map of one place on earth, though where that place was, he would never know. Perhaps, she would find his curiosity a bit of a complement?

She watched as he crashed, looking over at him in time to catch the tail end of it. Instead of worry or concern her first reaction was 'dude, that was awesome'. Not the most tactful of thoughts, but at least she managed to keep from proclaiming her thoughts this time. Some times she failed in that respect, and she some how never made any friends from it.

"Good!" She said, when he called out his status. She tilted her head at him, letting him get a good look. It didn't really faze her any more: she knew she was a walking oddity. How many moving water falls were there?

"I'm pretty scenic!" She laughed, holding herself up proudly. She didn't think it was a bad thing, or at least she was pretending she didn't think that, so she laughed about it easily.

"And you look like a bug," she pointed out, smiling at him, "what's your name, Dragonfly?"

"Is your pelt wet? Or no?" He asked as he moved towards her. He wanted to touch the spots that looked like water, but he didn't give her any signs that he wanted to. It almost made him thirsty to look at her. He almost half expected the sounds of a water fall coming off of her. Though that'd be really silly, wouldn't it?

"Indeed I do! I find it rather interesting myself. Too bad these aren't real though!" he said with a laugh. It seemed childish and careless. "Kallionstryne." He said to her with a bow. Only to make himself look more impressive. His beads that matched the color of his eyes hit him in the chin as he did so. He had bits of brown.... whatever it was on his leg and his tail. He wasn't sure what it was or where they came from just that he liked them when he found them and put them on. "What's the name of the beautiful water fall in front of me?"

"Of course not!" Poro laughed, "no more wet than yours is, anyway, after a good run! It's just I have a waterfall where most other cheetah have spots. And you have little wings. I keep meeting the craziest looking guys out here! It's pretty cool, though, because it makes me feel less stand-out than I did at home."

She blushed a bit at his question about her name, though it was more his compliment that caught her off guard. She was used to being called unique, weird or interesting, but words like beautiful were a bit more rare.

"I'm Poromoko. Poro, or Moko, but probably not Romo. Unless you wanted to, I guess." She laughed at her own joke, just to shake off the embarrassment from before. She listened to the sounds his beads made, even though they just whapped him in the chin, tilting her head, "I like those things you're wearing."

He smiled. "I rather treasure my oddness to those with spots!" He said winking at her now fully up from his bow. Spots were boring... Wings... Wings were exciting. They gave him the feeling he could do anything, well except fly of course. He felt like getting some leaves and making them look like wings upon his back to give him a feel what real wings felt like. Well, just a small image of what they'd feel like. At least he'd look good in them.

"My! Lots of nicknames then? Doesn't that get confusing?" Kallion only have one. Or at least, he only liked one. Being a long name, one could pick out many, he rather not. "It's a nice name." He added with a nod. "Oh? These old things? I found them on the ground. I haven't a clue where they came from before I got them." he said trying to look at the necklace on him. He didn't pay attention to the rope around his leg or his tail. "Crappy ground treasure! What I call them."

"I'm with you there! Spots are boring! Give me dragonflies and waterfalls, any day," she laughed loudly, snorting a bit and shaking her head. She liked this guy! It never hurt, meeting another creature with odd markings, and it was even better when it was a cheetah. She grinned broadly, nodding as he spoke.

Giggling, she shook her head again, "no, I always know when someone is talking to me. I don't get confused about that. I like nicknames. I think they're personal and fun. Makes me feel like I know, or want to know, the person I'm talking to. Or the other way around, too. Like I'm going to call you Dragonfly, just because I can."

She moved closer to inspect his crappy ground treasure, wishing she had some. She had never thought to use things she found on the ground as ornaments for herself, unfamiliar with the concept of jewelery, but it looked like a great idea now that she had seen it.

"I like them a lot! You look good in them! I don't know, makes you... seem more special? I mean, I don't see many cheetah wearing things around their neck. It's cool!"

He laughed with her as she agreed with his spot comments. "Yes! Not like you see them every day, which makes them much better. " He winked at her with another soft chuckle. Of course spots were all that bad, he just preferred odd markings over normal ones. Not every day did one see a waterfall painted on the side of another creature. It intrigued him.

"Well, your better then I at that then!" He laughed again. " My mind must not be able to compute more then one nickname!" he nodded at her as she continued to talk. "I don't really got many friends, so I don't really have much of a nickname." He nodded "It's as good as any nickname to call me. At least I won't get confused if there are more around then just two!"

"Well, I suppose I'm a different type of cheetah in more then one way. "He winked at her again. "And I assume they may think it might slow them down, haven't had a problem yet, I might say." He said with a nod. "Though, I've seen other's who pick up sticks and wear them on their head." He couldn't help but laugh at that. How stupid it was to wear sticks.... STICKS?! "Though, whatever does it for them, I suppose"

"Well, now we're friends so you've got a nickname. See? It works out for everyone! Plus, I think it's kind of cute. Dragonfly. They're creepy bugs, though, have you seen one? It's just weird. Big... weird eyes and... Well, anyway, I'm glad you don't look like them in any other regard."

She wasn't a fan of creepy crawly things. Big cats and feral dogs were more her speed.

Grinning, she noted how often he seemed to wink at her. So she winked back at him, just to tease, tilting her head to the side and making an obvious show of it, to make sure he didn't think she was just flirting with him without the context of conversation to justify it.

Because, clearly, Poro wasn't that kind of girl.

"Sticks? I'm pretty sure I could pull that off," she said, challengingly, "maybe they do look nice, and you're just bias against sticks? You know what? I'm going to do it."

She looked around, trying to find small enough sticks.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 29, 2009 1:19 pm

He couldn't help but laugh. "No, I don't believe I've seen one before. Though, I'll have to look for one to see how creepy they look! Are they tasty? Some bugs are." He said with a nod. He liked to taste different things, weather it's a bug, or an animal. It made things interesting. "Would that consider me a cannibal if I ate one?" He asked curiously. It was a interesting question. of course he was a cheetah, but was he part dragonfly too? Just instead of getting wings, they became the marking upon his back.

It was all fun and games when it came to winking. Most females thought he was just a big flirt. Which he was, but winking just came natural to him. He didn't even know he was doing it half the time. Though, he didn't say anything about her winking, as if she was making fun of him in a way.

"well, I'd rather not put sticks in my mane, I might get dragged away by some dog." He laughed. He wasn't sure if sticks where what dogs played with, but sure enough, he figured what he said was good for a small laugh. "I mean, go ahead if you want to become some Canine toy." He smiled sheepishly. He watched her look for a stick, this could prove to be a bit of an amusement as she'd try to fit sticks in her fur.

"They just have... really big eyes and these long tails out behind them. They're... actually. I mean. Not with the eyes, but the tails I guess kind of work for cheetahs like us," she laughed, shaking her head.

She shook her head, pointing to a little twig nearby.

"See, I wouldn't wear a big ol' stick, out of fear of wild dogs playing with me, but I don't think they'd like these little ones. They can't really pick them up without swallowing or breaking them, right? So little ones should be safe."

She sat down and used her paws to take hold of the stick, a bit awkwardly in her efforts to make sure it didn't snap. Lowering herself to the ground so the effort wasn't impossible, she took the little twig and stuck it in her short hair. At first it didn't want to stay, but when she nudged it nearer to her ear it managed to hang on. She sat up, grinning as if she was wearing the prettiest thing in the world.

"See that? I make this look good."
