The battle takes place in a dense forest with lots of thick trees and bushes. Many pokemon live in the area, but nearly all of them have fled upon the arrival of a human. The lofty branches may make flying difficult to those who do not not know the area well. The forest floor is damp and fresh. Patches of bright blue sky may be seen through the canopy.

Zinnia trudged through the forest, shoving thick and thorny bushes aside. Zyk flew above her head, circling around and around because his trainer was so slow. He seemed to constantly be in danger of colliding with a tree branch, but he always swerved out of the way at the last second.
"Zyk!" Zinnia called up. "Do you sense any paths up ahead?" Walking was getting too difficult and dangerous-- how many times had Zinnia tripped on a root and fallen into a thorny pile? Scratches covered her face, arms, and legs.
"Zuu..." Zyk replied rather sadly. He used echolocation to "see" his surroundings, but it looked like they would have to struggle for a while longer.

Get had been taking a nap in the trees when he was awakened by a noise, quite a few Pokemon were going away from a specific direction... He inhaled.. human... CURSE THOSE STUPID THINGS!!! He grumbled to himself as the pacifists began to flee.. cowards. A human was invading, but he would NOT just sit idly by and watch the intruder..... GAH! Complaining would do nothing. He took off, headed in the opposite direction, stopping only long enough to berate a wild Pidgeot that was fleeing, to no avail. Upon arrival, he saw a small human.. but it got worse.. there was a HUMAN LOVER.... cursed traitor... "PIDGEY!!!" Which was more of a cry of outrage than anything else.

Zyk recognized a battle cry when he heard one. At once he swooped lower and hovered, with some difficulty, right in front of Zinnia. He would protect her at all costs. "ZUUU!" he shrieked back, his cry so high-pitched that it was nearly inaudible.
Zinnia stopped moving, looking confused at first, then wary. She hadn't noticed the pidgey's call over the rest of the general forest din, but she relied on Zyk's instincts. And seeing him so aggressive told Zinnia that a battle would be inevitable, and that it would start soon.

Get leaped from his branch, the traitor.. he was protecting the human.. that in itself was distasteful! He leaped off of the branch, aiming to tackle the traitor where it flew.

Zyk was suddenly bowled over by a brown blur. When he recovered himself, he "saw" the form of a pidgey. He would not allow Zinnia to be harmed! He drew himself up tall, puffed out his fur threateningly, and awaited his beloved human's command.
Zinnia was startled by the sudden appearance of the savage pokemon, but she did her best to be a responsible trainer. "Right, uh... Pidgey is a normal/flying type, so... Poison Fang!"
Zyk winged forward, his two pointy canines gleaming in the sunlight. A purple liquid was dripping from them. In a flash, Zyk dove, attempting to bite Get.

Get turned from his successful attack to fly straight into the next attack. He screamed as the Zubat latched onto his wing with it's teeth. He recovered enough to talk, "{Get a good taste, you filthy human lover?}" He shook off his opponent, then charged in again for another tackle, "{Well, as the despicable humans you love so much would say, eat this!}"

Zinnia gave a little gasp as she was forced to watch her loyal little pokemon sent flying away by the pidgey's attack. Zyk hit a tree branch and just barely hung on by one wing claw. Things looked bad.
"Oh no... Zyk, try and poison him! Poison Fang!"
Zyk launched himself back into the air, ignoring his fresh bruises. He bared his teeth once more, but this time they were drenched in poison. Hoping against hope, he flew at Get once more.

Get felt the bite hit him in the wing again, the same one as before. He flinched, this time, he could feel the toxins take hold in his veins. DRAT THAT HUMAN LOVER, DRAT HIM!!! He turned, even as he felt the poison tear at his insides, to hurl yet another tackle at the invader.

Zinnia, heartened at the poison's success, decided to get a little more aggressive. "Heat Wave!" she called.
Zyk inhaled as much air as possible, his tiny chest expanding. When he could take no more, he ejected the super-heated air at Get. His breath shimmered with heat; that would be hard to avoid!

Get was blasted backwards, slamming into a tree. He fell, nearly hitting the ground before recovering. The poison combined with that hit had taken a toll on him, and he would need to finish this as fast as possible. He mustered his strength and used his favorite attack, Air Slash.
