He fell into a steady, unwavering pace across the sidewalk, and the soles of his worn leather shoes scraped against the cement with a near shuffle. Almost treading on his heels, often rubbing his feathers against the pant leg of his master, chirped Hadyn. The bird Pokémon's eyes gleamed in the dusk light, shining like blue gems against the dreary dim air, and he stalked with one leg, a stealthy, alive presence in the rolling dead of night. The sky fell behind his silhouette - and the one of his master's - with satin-like blue that was being transmuted to purple. Jay kept his hands tight in the pockets of his pants, his hair half-shutting out his eye from the rest of the people flowing along the opposite path. He followed the rail of the lake front with his ever-permanent cold face to match the chilling air of now. His eyes did not stray from their forward path; to the dissipating public who noticed him, he looked mechanical, if steely.
The railway opened up after the long walk into a sitting area, complete with one bench, an outcropped observation area, and an ice cream stand finishing packing up. When the man operating it spotted Jay's glassy, emerald stare, he rushed to stuff away his earnings and reel away his icebox. Satisfied, Jay stopped a moment, considering as his Torchic rubbed a circle around both of his legs, and then settled down on the bench with no intake of breath. Hadyn peered at him with his usual, obedient deviousness, and then hopped onto the bench beside his friend with a gentle spring of his leg. His wings flapped with an edge of impatient yearning - no doubt desiring to be pet - but nonetheless Hadyn sat poised, a gargoyle statue on his perch while the last strangers on the street vanished.
Jay's hand found his Pokémon's back with ease and moved rhythmically up and down. It was calming to be anywhere at night . . . As the streets became desolate, the day's stress melted away and he found himself composed. Calm, happier. Just how he should have been with his friends. Sighing, Jay stood, Hadyn in his hands. Lucky Island was a marvelous place to go; the forests were so incredibly beautiful that it was hard to resist wandering out into one. His breath came out slowly and surely, taking very long to come out. "Marvelous night out . . ."

((Don't mind if I join X3 ))
"Ryda, where are you going?" The Ponyta ignored her owner as she cantered along the rail of a lake, green eyes shining with happiness. Another set of green eyes, barely lit with the flames of the pony, watched with mild amusement as Siara fought tiredness to keep up with her Pokemon. Trust her to have a Pokemon that is rather energetic and one that can't keep still in her Pokeball. Breaking into a run, Siara caught up with Ryda before the pony wandered off to far, gods know what will happen to the young pony. "Ryda, stay with me...I can't actually see without you wandering off like that..." Ears seem to flop slightly as the pony nuzzled her owner- she really did not mean to leave Siara behind, she was just...curious, is all. Sighing, Siara returned the gesture with a smile on her face, brushing a few strands of purple hair from her face.
"Don't start wandering off alright..." She laid a hand on the pony's back, a signal for Ryda to start walking slowly. The flames on the pony's back were warm, and despite her hands being directly on the flames, Siara knew that she would not get burnt. She was also lucky to have a Pokemon that had heat radiating from its body, considering she had barely gotten dressed before Ryda took off out the door. She needed a jacket too... Siara sighed and tried to stay awake, the hand she had on Ryda's back slipping off. Ryda, in a bit of a panic, stopped suddenly, causing Siara to collide with her Pokemon. Ryda neighed in protest- her owner was heavy. Siara struggled to regain her footing but failed.
"Let's go home, Ryda..I'm too tired..." They had arrived at the sitting area by now, and Siara was in a dire need of a nap.

The Pokemon Centre was filled to the brim with trainers, all needing a place to sleep for the night. They were spread out on the floor, all over the couches and blocked the main doorway. As far as Lila was concerned, she would rather sleep outside than with her head in some random persons lap. After a yawn and a moment of though, Lila began to stride strong, confident steps towards the lake, drawn by the sparkle of the moon on the water.
This was a nice place. Pristine Island had been beautiful but darn cold. When your monetary funds were so low you couldn’t even by a jacket going to a snow covered island wasn’t the best choice. However, she hadn’t had much of a choice and it had then taken her two weeks to earn enough money to buy a boat trip to Lucky Island.
Besides her a Meowth rolled and chased its tail, clearly delighted by being out in the evening air.
“Oi, Momo…”
The Meowth stopped and rolls onto its back, waving its legs in the air. Lila chuckled. “Nevermind. Look, we’re nearly at the water.” They had reached a sitting area, where only one person seemed to have chosen to spend the night. No wait, two… was that a Ponyta in the distance? One bench. Perfect. Another night out under the stars. Thirteen years of doing this was getting just a bit old. It would be nice just to be in a warm, fluffy bed for one night. What a pipedream. You could get money from battling, but Momo was hardly capable of hurting a fly.
“Hey, mind if I sit here too?” The man sitting on the bench didn’t look particularly friendly, but Lila wasn’t exactly one to be frightened away by a persons appearance… especially when he was on the only bench and she wanted to take a nap.
