It looks really complicated but does anyone know how to make them? And who here would try?

I think many lolis get patterns from either the Lolita Bible, or they look for patterns at their local fabric store (usually Joanne's Fabric). I'm capable of sewing but I don't have the patience. Most lolita skirts don't look too hard though. The hardest parts would probably be putting in zippers and hems. If you want to try to make your own clothes you should totally go for it!

now here's the simple plan. start with just a simple dress and add on things that you like. Lace, bows frills and such. that makes it easy and cuts the cost of buying. plus you get all of what you want and none of what you don't want. and it'll be unique! (I'm starting on one, and all my friends are pondering whether to kill me, or make me make them dresses... sweatdrop

I don't know how to make them, but I know some fabulous sites that you can go to. They're awesome for cosplay, or if you're visiting Japan, or just having fun. ^.^

Lolita dresses look so complicated! I bet though, that if you did just have a pattern for the basic dress that you could get imaginative and start adding on things that really make the dress a dress... like detail. Sort of like how in Cinderella they start to make her dress out of nothing, but in the end it looks like an actual dress... Before it gets ripped to shreds anyhow. they added bows and ribbons and little details here and there. smile
