Has anyone ever read the book by Gregory Macguire? ...I believe it's...different from the musical. It's much, much darker and I wouldn't recommend for the kiddies. >.>

Great book, it's intense, dark, and deals a lot with manipulation, sex, and what really is good and evil. Not for the little kiddies, but I'd still pick it up if you're older. ^^;;

diav OMG. I totally missed Wicked when it was in Toronto. I wasn't able to get ahold of tickets, I was so sad... crying I've heard the songs, though, they're really really good! Actually, my friend went to see it in Toronto while it was there. (Happened to fall during a conference a bunch of people I know went to. (I couldn't afford to go, myself.)) Anyway, he loved it and brought back the soundtrack and program for us to listen to/look at (and burned me a copy, too). I was really impressed by what I saw/heard and it is coming to St. Louis this month (may already be there, actually), so my friends, my boyfriend, and I are going on the 20th! whee I love going to the Fox and it is so rare that I can. 3nodding (Also, planning on going to see Phantom this summer with my friend and her boyfriend, although I've seen it before so if it's just the two of them I may leave it for a romantic night for them...) I haven't actually listened to the soundtrack much, but from what I have heard I think Defying Gravity is probably my favorite, my change after I see the show. *is trying to not listen to the music anymore before the show to make it more exciting* As for the books, I haven't read them, but my friend has and I know that the new one has just come out. 3nodding
