Kadhma'keyhd was enjoying one of his rare days when he didn't have to be on guard duty, instead he was able to head to see about something to eat. Hell if he was feeling very good he might just go see that sister of his. He hadn't seen her in awhile, not that it seem to both Amux that she never saw her brother. She just didn't love him was all, at least that was what -he- had decided.
Never mind that she had an important job taking care of cubs, or that his job kept him outside of the main pride lands. Nope, none of that mattered...she just didn't love him....and hello what was this?
Kahd tilted his big head to study the small female cub before him. She was cute enough for a bratling but more interesting what was she doing out here, in the Ushujaa's area. Flicking one ear lazily, the massive male sat back on his haunches.
"Yo girl, what you doing out here?"

Andraste was, by nature, a rather joyful little cub, although she rarely displayed it unless affected by another. Happiness was contagious, after all. But it was difficult not to be happy when she had wandered into Ushujaa territory.
It was a little bit farther than she normally ventured, and she knew she had set herself up for trouble, but that didn't matter. She was destined to be here someday, after all, and there was no harm in checking out her future quarters. Hm, someday, she'd be here, and she would be living out her dream.
She was a fighter through and through, and it didn't take a genius to figure that out about her. Even her build seemed to suggest it, being somewhat larger than the average pride lioness, and even as a cub she was already beginning to put on muscle that would turn her into a sleek, powerful warrior.
Yea, she was headed down the right path. She was sure of it.
Her head turned at the sound of the voice, ears perking. She had always delighted in meeting some of the actual Ushujaa of the pride. It paid to learn more while she could.
"Nothin'," she said brightly, padding over toward the lion, completely unfazed by the fact that he towered over her. "Just checking it out."

"Ain't you suppose to be with a nanny or something kid? You might get hurt out here with the big boys." He gave her a patronizing smile. It was doubtful he would have said the same thing to a male cub.
"I am sure your nanny is looking for you." Wracking his brain, Kahd tried to remember if Amu has mentioned a cub like this....not that he ever really paid attention to his sister when she babbled about the spawn she was watching. Yawning lazily he got to his feet, "Come on kitten. I'll take you back. I am sure your nanny has something proper for a cute little girl like you to be doing."

Andraste shrugged, shooting him a sidelong glance but keeping any irritation she might have felt at bay. "If'n my nanny can't watch me long enough to keep where I'm supposed to be, then I have every right to be here." She explained patiently, ignoring the smile. Hmph, he could smile all he wanted to. She wasn't going to let something as simple and easy to let slide as that get to her. Not when she was in Ushujaa territory. She wouldn't want to get herself kicked out.
"It's fine," she replied, still gleeful despite his words. Kitten indeed! "I got here myself, I'm sure I can find my way back." Her words were polite and her tone was perfectly cordial, as one would have expected of a young cub replying to an elder. But her words seemed to be pushing, challenging his perception of her, and a light had come on in her eyes that said she was ready to fight tooth and nail to make sure he changed his mind.
"I dun think so," she added. "What's proper for a lot of other girls prolly isn't so proper for me. This is proper for me." She said, motioning around her. "Being aroun' here. I'm gunna move here when I'm older anyhow."

Kahd snorted faintly shaking his head. Honestly, what did those freaking nanny's teach these girl cubs? A female should know her place, hunting or taking care of cubs...but then again if it was Amu, she was probably filling their heads with that stupid females are as good as male crap.
Well not that females were less, they were just not as big or strong. Females were made to be protected, that was why the gods made male so much larger and stronger. Besides females were suppose to be soft and loving to their males.
Shaking his head again to clear his thoughts, Kahd looked down at the cub at his feet. "Come on kitten, time to go back. It ain't safe out here." He got to his feet then and went to grab her by her ruff intending to carry her back to the nanny's.

Her baby blue eyes widened. Oh, she saw him coming, alright! Ears flattened against her head, she ducked away from the lion's incoming teeth with a squeal of protest. Dancing a few steps away, she sat down and kept her distance, fixing her gaze on him. A challenge was in her eyes, as if just daring him to try that again.
Go back? As if. Not when she had spent so much time and effort just getting out here in the first place.
She squared her shoulders and shook the cream colored tuft of forelock out of her eyes. "Well, how come it isn't safe out here?" She retorted, frowning mightily at the gray lion. "How come it ain't safe when all I'm surrounded by is Ushujaa? Unless you all are that useless."
In which case, her entire life's goal had been shattered and she would proceed to live without an identity. Which wasn't going to happen, of course. Not ot her.

Kahd rolled his eyes faintly as he grunted at the annoying little brat in question. Why did he always have to find the troubles? Why couldn't she just be a good little girl?
"Because you ain't safe from us girl. Someone could hurt ya without meaning too. You are just too little."
She was a tiny little thing, cute as a bug. Kahd's orange eyes glazed faintly as he thought about that. Bugs weren't cute, they were annoying pest. Kinda like this cub. She smelled better than those stinking beetle but she was just as annoying. He smirked faintly as he looked at her again. Yeah she was defiantly a bug.

"Oh," Andraste giggled and settled her rump down into the grass. So it was just that. Well, that wasn't a very big deal at all! "Oh, y'don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself, an' anyway, I'm gunna grow up and be one of youse, so it's not like anyone would hurt me, even if I am small.
"Which, I'm not, you know. Small. I'm bigger'n my other sisters." She giggled again gazed up at him with her sparkling eyes, watching as he seemed to zone out slightly. Well, she had to give it to him for worrying about her. It was such a sweet gesture, after all.
"Hey," she piped up, finally unable to sit still and wait for him to just return to earth any longer. "Whatcha thinkin' about?"

Now Kahd wasn't tactful on his best days, not even towards other adults and to have a little thing like that ask him what he was thinking? Yeah this was gonna go over well... "I was thinking that you are an annoying little bug, kinda like a stink bug only you don't smell quiet as bad. I was also thinkin that it would be easy to step on ya and not even it know it."
Ignoring any protest the little cub might make, Kahd got to his feet and began nudging and shoving her back towards the pride's main area. "You need to be learnin to be a good hunter girl so you can feed big strong warriors like me...not playing at being one of the boys."

A... BUG?!
She almost snorted in disbelief. "What? I'm not a bug! Are you kidding me?!" She leaped to her feet, tail raised high in a grand (for a cub) display of rage. "Do you even know anything? Bugs are small! And insignificant! And prey! I'm not a bug!" Her little voice fairly reverberated around them, made a number of times louder by the sudden outburst of emotion.
A bug, indeed.
She opened her mouth to continue berating him, but before the words could make their way out, he was shoving her backwards toward the main pridelands. "Hey!" She squealed in protest, half tripping along in her unwillingness to leave. "Stop it!" Pulling her feet under her, she spotted the area between the big lion's forelegs and dove, making a valiant attempt to escape the prodding.
"Be a hunter girl?" She trilled, utterly shocked at the suggestion. Her? A hunter girl? "I'm a big, strong warrior! You jus' watch me! I could beat you any day!"

Kahd blinked down at the little female before bursting into rude laughter. Her?? Beat him?! If he liked cubs he would have found her adorable but as it was she was just a quick amusement. When she dove to try to escape between his legs, he swatted her with a big paw, careful of how hard he hit her. He didn't wanna hurt the little bug, just to send her rump over nose.
"Now see here Bug, you gonna get hurt playing with the boys. Be a good little girl and get on back to your nanny." One ear flicked in annoyance as he looked at the dazed cub. Defiantly a bug, only those little creepy crawlies could be so annoying.
"If you are a good girl, maybe some big warrior will let ya hunt for him." Wasn't that what all females wanted after all? A big strong protector?

Before she could manage a quick retort, his hefty paw caught her hind legs mid-leap. She managed to let out a yelp of surprise before tumbling face-first into the ground.
... Ouch.
She had every intention of lying sprawled across the ground for several more moments when his voice sounded, and all of a sudden, she felt her vision flash red-hot with anger again. "I am not going to get hurt, thank you very much!" She declared, though her head begged to differ.
"Well, I don't want to hunt for some stupid big warrior!" She said shrilly, clambering hastily to her feet, although her spinning head protested loudly against the sudden movement.
She stood for a moment, blinking the stars out of her eyes, before jumping to stand square with the big lion, a scowl as fierce as she could manage plastered to her face. "You're a big meanie!" She added, yanking all the reckless courage she possessed, and flinging herself at him, baby claws and teeth all bared and ready to do some damage.

Now why in the hells was the bug chewing on his leg?? This was why he didn't deal with cubs. They were irrational and so damn dramatic. He was gonna have to talk to Amux about the crazy ideas those nanny's where given these girl cubs. He let her chomp away on his leg for awhile before her let out a half hearted growl, thought o the little female it would likely sound as if he was going to rip her head off.
"Now listen here Bug, I've had just about enough your foolishness. I already sent ya rolling once and if ya don't watch it I am gonna do it again. You too damn little to be out here. Now get your tail back to your nanny before I swat it again!"
There, the law was laid down. Maybe the little annoyance would -finally- listen to reason and stop all this insanity. Honestly! Had she been ugly it might explain why she wanted to be a warrior so bad..but she was cute in that unfinished little runt kinda way.

The growl did it. At once, she let go and rolled into a ball, writhing away to prevent a possible attack. Ooh, she had angered the beast now.
As she rolled out of reach and realized that he had had no real intention of hurting her, she sprang once more to her feet, paws spread defiantly and ears pinned to her head to show her displeasure. That was not what one would consider playing it fair!
She had half a mind to fling herself at him again for a second attack, but there seemed to be a seriousness in his voice that hadn't been there before, which made her pause to think again. Hm. Maybe she would just let him off the hook this time.
She pulled her paws back together, making herself look more poised. If she had to leave, she was at least going to leave with her dignity intact! She widened her baby blue eyes to glare at him for a long moment. "Fine!" She said finally with a huff. "I'ma leave now. But this isn't over!" She warned, in as grown-up a voice as she could manage. Oh, he had better watch out for her.

Orange eyes rolled in disgust at the little female's threats. Really, who did that little bug think she was?Was he suppose to be intimidated by a cub who didn't even know her place? Flicking one ear he let a smirk cross his muzzle knowing it would piss the little girl off.
"Sure Bug. I'll make sure to be wary of all the bugs from now on." Somewhere in the back of his pea sized brain, he could hear Amux yelling at him for bullying a cub but hell the little brat had started it! He had just been trying to get her back to where she belonged and she had to go and stir up trouble.
"Now get!"
(Fin?)
