JOURNALS
This subforum is for making journals detailing your TRHQ characters and Pokémon. If you plan to play an original character, you don't need to own any TRHQ pets before you start working on your journal. However, if you plan to play a cosplay character, please refrain from creating a journal until after you've obtained an ID. See the Character IDs thread for more information.
It is strongly recommended that you make a journal before you begin to play. This allows the RP mods to address any concerns they have about your characters before you start playing instead of suddenly stopping you in the middle of an RP if a problem comes up.
You're not required to have a journal unless you plan to participate in raids. To be eligible to participate in a raid with a character, you must have their journal filled out with, at the very least, all of their Pokémon and their Pokémon's attacks.
You may not repurpose art that you found on the internet to represent your character without the original artist's explicit permission. This includes posting, recoloring, and tracing other's drawings and photos. These kinds of activities may be permitted in other places, but TRHQ will not tolerate it. If you're found to have repurposed someone's art and cannot give proof of permission, you'll be asked to remove the art immediately. This rule does not extend to the use of official media to represent cosplay characters.
Please do not post in any journals that you don't own unless you have permission.

FORMATTING
There is no standard way that you have to format your journal, should you choose to make one. You're welcome to include as much or as little information as you want with whatever setup you find most comfortable. If you're not sure what to do, try browsing the existing journals for ideas. However, you may not cherry pick your favorite elements from other's journals to use for your own. People put a lot of work into their journals, and it's not very considerate to just rip off that work! If you find something you want to use, contact the person who created it to ask permission first - and if they say no, respect that!
You may notice that many of the journals share a very similar format designed to mimic a database entry. This format was originally created by user Duelist of Pokemon (here), who then gave universal permission for anyone to use or alter it as desired. If you choose to base your journal format on this layout, make sure to credit Duelist of Pokemon!

RUMORS
Rumors are a collection of common knowledge about characters for players to draw on for RP. Many people create them to store in their characters' journals to give others a quick overview of the characters' major aspects. For example: Someone states in their character's common rumors that they're afraid of doglike Pokémon, and your character owns a Growlithe. Sounds like a potential opportunity for RP, doesn't it?
You're not required to keep a rumors post if you don't want to. It's just another way to share information about your character. The form below can be edited in any way you like to include as much or as little information as you want to list.
THE FORM
Last Updated: Self explanatory. Helps readers know how up-to-date the information is.
Common Rumors: Easily learned. Almost anyone who knows the character could tell you. Someone could find out just by asking around. Uncommon Rumors: Less easy to learn. Some people who know the character could tell you. Someone could find out by asking the right people. Rare Rumors: Moderately difficult to learn. A few people who know the character could tell you. Someone might find out by asking the right people in the right way, but you'd be lucky to know at all. Legendary Rumors: Very difficult to learn. Almost nobody knows or would be willing to tell you. You'd have to ask the right person in the right way at the right time, catch them in the act, or have access to special records. Most people will never find out unless told directly by the person in question.
Usual Haunts: Places that you're likely to find the character, such as their workplace, where the go to train, where they spend their free time, etc. Major Relationships: Their Team Rocket partner, their roommate, their best friend, etc. People they're likely to be associated with.
Seeking: If there are any kind of specific plots or relationships you're open to, you can list them here. Examples include Rocket partnership, romance, Pokémon battling rival, etc. Whatever you like!
