Amongst the more rocky part of the Talaye Meadow, where they were constant hills of rock and less grass, the sound of hooves could be heard clopping against ground. Jyri was enjoying his time higher up above the meadow and trees. Even though the air was a little cooler up there and thinner, his body adjusted quickly and he was able to jump from rock to rock easily.

Amongst the highest plateau, sprawled out in a lazy position, Appasionata drowsed, eyes mostly closed. She had spent the early part of the morning gallivanting around the rocks without a care in the world and had finally dropped into a nap a few hours ago. Her ear twitched though at the slight sound of hooves hittign rock occasionally. "hmmmmm....?"

Jyri leaped onto a large, flat rock that seemed to be doing a balancing act on a long, thin rock. He turned about to look about, seeing the meadows and forests down below. He turned and leaped away from the rock and landed on the smaller stones and then started trotting his way up the slope.

Finally waking from her drowse, she shook her head and blinked rapidly, the sun a lot brighter than when she had dozed off. Looking around, she spied a green, pink and brown shape moving erratically from rock to rock below her. Getting up, she stretched, tail high in the air and chest close to the floor, almost like a cat before moving closer to the edge to get a better look. Her horns caught an errant shaft of sunlight and glinted gold as she tried to get the other's attention.

Something bright flashed in Jyri's vision for a second and he yelped, his hooves not quite catching the rocks right and he slipped and fell, sliding down a few feet, the rocks sliding down further then him. Blinking his eyes open and seeing spots, he sat himself up and checked the vine around him, glad to see it hadn't torn nor had any of the other flowers fallen off. Adjusting the flower attached behind his ear, he stood up and shook himself, short tail wiggling to get the dust off.

"Oh no!" She saw the other Talaye, as she now knew him to be, start to fall and she scrabbled wildly off her plateau. She did it without caution, having an affinity to rock that was almost eerie at times, before skidding to a stop in front of the other. "Are you okay?

The male was about to continue his trek further up when another Talaye seemed to jump from down higher and she made her way to him. She seemed oddly familiar, like he had met her before, but he didn't know anyone outside of his large family. He gave a friendly smile when she asked if he was ok and he nodded his head, "Yea, I'm fine really, just a small tumble is all." he said in reassurance.

Apa blew out a small breath of relief before giving him a small smile. Then she cocked her head to one side as she looked him over assessingly. Something was niggling at the back of her mind before she let out a soft "Jyri?"

He tilted his head, blinking in confusion, "I'm sorry, but...have we met?" he asked, wondering how she even knew his name.

"Oh, you forgot about me? But I guess that's okay since you were still small. I'm Appassionata, but you can call me Apa for short. We only talked for a little bit when you were a small pup." She smiled reassuringly at him in a friendly way, stamping her hoof softly into the ground. "What brings you all the way out here?"

Jyri tilted his head the other way, trying to remember and he did recall meeting another Earth like him, but he was fresh out of the basket and still learning about the world. But he did smile fondly, "I think I do remember you." he exclaimed. "I am up here just to breath in some air that wasn't in the meadows or forest. I guess you could say I feel more at home up here." he said, hooved paws stamping against a stone.

The rose quartz Talaye nodded in understanding. She loved the fresh breezes that blew up where she lived. To her, there was nothing to compare to it. "Ahhh, it is nice up here, isn't it? Even though I've lived here my entire life, there's still so much I haven't explored yet since it's so big. Would you like to explore with me?"

"My life started in a basket, and even when I was a pup, I had to stick close to family for my protection." he said, looking around and wiggling his little tail to and fro. He smiled at her, nodding his head, "Yes, exploring sounds like fun, I think exploring on the ground is more fun then with wings." he said.

"I've always been on my own though I see others occasionally and they're like family to me." She gave hima good look over to make sure he hadn't cut himself or anything on the rocks. "The wind is nice and I know others love to fly but..." She looked down at the ground, pawing at it with her hooves. "But there's a stability to rock that makes me feel secure and comforted. And there's a lot in the ground you can't see from way up there in the clouds." She flashed a cute smile before tossing her head, ears flying. "Want me to show you my favorite place?"

Jyri nodded his head, understanding where she was coming from because there were only 4 in his entire family that didn't have wings, but they weren't Earth's like him. He flashed a grin and nodded, "Sure, lead the way!" he said.
