(Requirements:
1) This must be kept short
2) I have no idea where the hell this is going
3) Failure is an option
4) AMELIA MADE ME DO IT! ...Not really. I just keep thinking of it, and she keeps telling me "YES RHYS YOU MUST DO THIS FOR YOU ARE GREATER THAN PIE AND I LOVE PIE".
5) How do I put this... if your entrance screws things up, I'll let you know.
6) Anyone who's already been in Learania is eligible. Those of you who aren't in Learania, um... make a post and see #5.)
--Several days after the "ONOEZ TEH GUD GUYZ R EBIL DDD=" incident--
"Ahhhhhh..."
Rhys yawned and stretched, taking in the rising morning sun. Finally, once again he was feeling well enough to get out and about again. 'Bout time, too. Jin had thankfully survived the "uprising" and had paid a visit, so there were no worries about missing patients. Perhaps even MORE thankfully...
Jin had been prudent, swiping out what he could from the castle coffers to make sure they didn't fall into corrupted hands. He hadn't returned it afterward, which was rather unscrupulous for a Priest...
Which was exactly why he did NOT tell Rhys that he'd taken the money from FEF Castle (though at the time, it HAD been for the right reasons). Ahh, young men of the cloth. They're so... gullible, Jin had thought as he walked off, chuckling to himself.
But this story isn't about him. Not entirely, at least. Let us instead turn the camera over to the orange-haired Bishop in question, who was at that moment deciding...
"Amelia is my purpose today! I will be the greatest Amelia-er that ever lived," Rhys shouted into the sun.
Then he smiled.
"I didn't realize we'd had so much funding. Our patients are really generous. I feel kind of bad taking this money, but Jin told me to take it in good faith, so that's what I'll do! Now, where in Eyris can I find engagement rings...?"
He wandered down the familiar road to the town of Eyris. Let the Quest for an Engagement Ring begin!

Leon, a Lieutenant under Steely Dan and Ghis was wandering his ravaged homeland. Of course, close beside him was his trusty steed, Anri, to his right as he had been for years when the soldier-lord wasn't riding him.
Seeing this happen to Eyris was hard on both of them. First Archanea and now...
Before Leon could think anymore, Anri reared up. "What's the matter?" he asked his steed. "Calm yourself!" he exclaimed, while grabbing the reigns of the brown stallion and eventually soothing him.
Right there was one of those men in white robes, about to collide with Leon's faithful mount. "Sir, might you watch where you're-" he immidiately stopped when he noticed it was Rhys, one of the healers that treated him while his injuries were still so very severe. "Forgive me, healer, I hadn't known it was you... and about two days ago... what you did with your staff... thank you."
Of course, Leon should have known that to Rhys, he was probably just another faceless wounded soldier. What he really detested was how his current injuries made him unable to be on his rightful place... on the back of his horse.
~~~~~~~
Sue was at a vendor's stand. To help raise money for Eyris's repairs, she was hand-crafting bows that sold for lots of gold, especially amongst the Eyris Ranger Division of the Guard. She did notice her friend and Host Club leader pass her by, thinking of something. She couldn't leave the stand though... "Hm. Where is he off to?" she wondered. "He's supposed to be off duty."
"That was two days ago? I guess I was well enough to heal by then, but I couldn't do that much with staves," Rhys said, a cheesy anime sweatdrop appearing on the back of his head. "But it's no trouble, really. I do what I can to help those in need. ...And I try to avoid running into horses whenever I can."
He bounced around lightly on his heels, a bit giddy. No, he couldn't remember Leon's face. That may have been mostly because he was still a bit sick at the time and didn't seem to be entirely present at the time. But he still remembered what he'd come to Eyris for, and he was turning this way and that as though he'd never been to Eyris before. Darn it, where the heck do I find a jewelry store? Or...
Rhys' face turned downward.
Wh-what if they were all looted in the fighting, and they had to close? Oh, no... would I be unable to find anything? But... but then, I'll have to wait for the end of the next event to find anything! Must... fight... emo... urges!
Rhys wrestled with his inner emo worries. He looked like maybe he could use some reassurance or something. Maybe even some lunch.
Grabbing Anri's reins, the Lieutenant of the Guard turned to Rhys rather inquisitively. He was looking for something he could tell. Leon knew the look of a man searching for something, for he had that look in his eyes when he was just a boy, wandering into Learania at the young age of seventeen, back then a new Archanean recruit. It was the same frantic look of worry, of not being able to find what he looked for.
Anri shook his head slightly, showing that the steed was picking up on his owner's nervous vibes. Sensing it, Leon calmed himself, and spoke again. "Well, it's a shame that you don't remember saving my hide. If not for you, I would have been seeing the light, or whatever it is you're supposed to do." he grumbled something about being more likely to see fire than light.
"I know it's your healer's duties to help us, because us knights watch your backs. If there's a favor I can do, anything at all for saving my skin, I'd be glad to do it. I'm not a man who leaves his debts unpaid." The Lieutenant winked, almost with a hint of mischief behind it.
Ganon hummed and strummed. That was his thing, he'd hum and then strum a little. He was good at it, too! Really experienced. But he had never in his life Amelia'd!
He poked his head over the edge of the low roof on which he had chosen to bask, then waved his tail a bit as he sat up and leaned over more fully. "And what's all this going on, then? Something I can help you with, gentlemen?" He paused, glancing at Anri. Ganon's experiences with horses had been largely bad, and he quickly clambered around and jumped down where the horse wouldn't see him before slipping around the corner slowly to join Rhys.
Blossom sighed, stretching as she sat up from a nice, warm spot on the grass. Lysander, the long broadsword she stubbornly refused to part with (or no longer fight with, even though it was clearly made for a person much taller than her), was on the grass nearby. She rubbed her hand against the thick bandages around her left wrist; even after re-breaking and re-setting the bones there before setting a healing staff to them, the area was still tender. A wrist has a lot of important bones, after all, and some of them were pretty sensitive. She could still move her wrist, sort of, and it was at least enough mobility for her to swing a sword unimpeded.
"Well, that was a nice rest," she murmured sleepily. She stretched like a cat, curling her toes as she arched her back and pushed out her legs and arms as far as they would go before standing. She had been training for a while the night before and somehow she'd found herself falling asleep in the grass. It wasn't her fault, really; she was just tired. Aidan would understand. Blossom yawned and plucked a few pieces of grass from her hair before smoothing out the rumples in her shirt and skirt.
She paused before she could lean down and pull her stockings back up from where they'd fallen to her shins. Voices? Men. Only one was distinctly familiar, while another rang bells, but she couldn't place the name. The last was completely unknown. Blossom strapped her sword to her back and rushed over. This would be interesting! "Hey! What's goin' on?" she asked, smiling brightly. She looked at Rhys, Ganon, and Stranger McNewface curiously, blades of grass still sticking out of her hair, a few caught in the folds of her skirt.
"Hello, Ganon. Hello, Blossom," Rhys answered as they came, grinning. "Well... how do I put this... do any of you know where to find jewelry? This is kind of embarrassing, but... I've never shopped for jewelry in my life! I'm not sure how I'm going to propose if I don't know where to look for engagement rings, is all. So, I could use help with that."
Anyone who knew Rhys long enough knew he and Amelia were in love, and had been together for quite some time. The fact that Rhys wanted to propose wasn't a shocker, really. It was just that Rhys was still young, and therefore not particularly knowledgeable in the ways of the world.
"I have the money to buy a ring, but... can you guys help me find a good one?"
"Oh, hello there, lass." Leon said politely to Blossom as he noticed her arriving, and then he turned to greet Ganon as well. "To all who don't know me, I'm Leon, a Lieutenant of the Guard. This here..." he motioned to his steed. "Is my best friend and loyal companion, Anri."
The horse seemed to whinny proudly as his name was spoken. All the while, Leon was baffled by Ganon's behavior, as Anri wasn't going to bite.
After his indroductions were made, the knight smirked. "You know, one of my acquaintances is a jewelry vendor. It's her specialty, along with selling those... staff things I never figured out how to use." Saying the last bit made the Lieutenant a tad bit irritated. "I'm sure that she'll get you what you're looking for. Of course, I think she might still be in the middle of doing inventory..."
~~~~~~
Sue looked at her stand. Already, she was almost out of bows. "Hm, the Rangers must have got all their weapons broken by the sane Guardsman who didn't want to hurt their comrades." she muttered to herself. At least some were spared... although... Father Sky, Mother Earth, watch over those who weren't..
"I have to get materials!" she said out loud. She was out, after all, and also curious. Why had her Lord of the Host Club gone by so quickly when he was off-duty? Rhys first, materials later.
The nomad put a 'closed' sign at her vendor stand, and didn't worry about being robbed, as there was nothing there to take.
Now began the nomad's quest for finding whatever her Lord wished... and materials!
{I'm liking him. Formal only in introductions, and then he gets informal. Maybe that's why he never rose in rank. XD}

Strolling happily down the road, Lance was in a peachy mood. While he had not been outside a lot lately, as he had pretty much been trapped in the basement of the house he were staying at in this world, building and tinkering about, he had just made a pretty penny selling one of the contraptions to a simple-minded traveller.
Who would've known that the old blueprints he swiped from that crazy inventor would ever come in handy! He just managed to load off one of the inventions to a traveller he met, making a bit of money. Lance didn't even know if it worked correctly! Maybe it'll break down within a day. But still, he'd be long gone by then.
Happily throwing his money pouch up and down, he was smiling broadly. Maybe I can find myself a nice inn with great food to eat!
Entering the city, he quickly changed his mindset. W-what happened here!?
There was a city, it just seemed very ruined. He had been walking a while in it too without noticing. So much for that meal.
Instead, his eyes locked on to a tall figure within a group of people. "Hey hey!"
A large lizard on two legs, sporting a very peculiar outfit. "Intriguing!"
Lance rushed forward to the...creature, studying it from every angle. "That...that is amazing! I've never seen anything like you before!" he exclaimed, completely ignoring the other people around him.

"What are you?" Leon, instead of giving a polite introduction as par usual seemed to glare at Lance. "You're one of them mad scientists that study live human and.. um... what was the word... um... Laguz subjects!"
The new terminology had him confused at times, as Leon had to refrain from using "sub-human." He'd just learned that was the rude name to call the shape-shifting wonders of nature.
~~~~~
Sue looked left, and then right. No materials, and no Rhys. Did they both ship out at the same time? They couldn't have!
I have to find them both! I will!!!
Lance turned around at the voice from one of the men in the crowd. "Um...sorry, what? I still don't get what these 'laguz' people mention from time to time are...oh, wait, is that the race that has the cat girls and stuff? Ooooh, they're so pretty! It's every man's dream to have a pretty girl with cat ears and a tail, serving you tea and saying cute stuff like "Would you like a refill, Master?". Kyaah, that's so amazing!"
Completely forgetting what the man had been talking about earlier, he went back to observe the lizard man again. "Although, you don't look quite like them... but you're big, I'll tell you that! What could your name be?" Lance exclaimed happily to the large lizard like creature.
Blossom's eyes widened. "So you're finally gonna ask her!" she said, smiling brightly. Apparently not realizing that she looked like she'd put Chia pet seeds all over her, she looked Rhys up and down, as if to make sure for herself that he didn't have the ring he didn't already have hidden somewhere.
"I don't know a good place to find jewelry, though," Blossom admitted. She crossed her arms behind her back, scarf tails shifting a little with the movement. "I got any a'my jewelry before I left Elibe."
She paused, though, at the arrival of a new face. She looked Lance up and down curiously, then looked back at Ganon. "Of course he doesn't. And yes, he is. It's very unfair, you know." she folded her arms across her front and huffed. "Ganon's not allowed to be that tall. He's just breaking the rules." She looked over to Rhys again, blue-grey eyes on him. "So where are ya gonna look for the ring?"
"What a loon." Leon commented. Honestly, he begun to believe that the rumors flying around in the Castle Guard were true. The people in the Research and Development of Learania, and Eyris respectively were all freaks. They had strange fetishes.
"I don't think he'd be willing to be carried off to your lab, good sir." the brunette Lieutenant found himself using the last two words of his sentence loosely, almost crudely.
~Edit
Changing the subject, Leon did smirk while speaking, towards Rhys and Blossom and particular. "I said... I know a vendor. She might be doing inventory, but she'll still take gold, I'm sure. She needs all she can get to stop her business from going under."
He was trying to get his mind off Lance, but somehow couldn't help but feel nervous around the.. apparently scientist.
Still completely entranced by that there was a lizardman in front of him, Lance's mind was running on full-speed. I've read about them, but I had never even dreamed of ever meeting one! They're said to be amongst the most intelligent creatures to have ever existed, being the perfect mix of a dragon's wisdom and a human's passion. "So his name is Ganon! My name is Lance! Pleased to make your aquaintance!"
It still hadn't spoken, so he didn't actually know if it was male or female, but it didn't really matter that much.
The brown-haired man that had spoken to him first spoke up again, this time with an almost rude tone. "L-Loon?!"
Then again, it was probably true, so it didn't matter much. But wait..."Lab? What in Fortuna's name are you talking about? Do I look like a scientist to you? Nay, I say! I'm not a scientist! I am Lance! The greatest...-"
Lance made a pause. No, wait, I can't say that I'm a thief. That won't look good. "-...Jack-of-All-Trades in the world! I keep hearing the mentioning of a ring! What purpose would this ring serve, if I may ask?"
