 Naps. Elua was sure they were the best form of sleep in the world. They brought wonderful daydreams, and everything seemed brighter once one woke up. The best naps were taken in the dappled shade of a scrubby savanna tree, where the ratio of sun and shade, warm and cool were well balanced. While Eisheth and Leru were with the cubs, Elua lay curled up beneath one scrubby tree, happily purring in her sleep.
The world was good...at least until her family came to wake her up. But for the moment, Elua floated in her dreams, only half-aware of the world around her, as felines are wont to do when napping.

Stalking through the grass, Cassiel would seem to be little more than a light shadow, a whisp of cloud between the waving stalks he moved so lightly. They barely swayed as he passed by, their rustling hardly betraying where he went. What he was doing, or hunting as it seemed to be from his crouching stalk, was even less obvious. Something had caught his sky blue eyes, turning the hunter from graceful walk to deadly motion. His dark tail flicked gently, betraying his agitation, but didn't betray himself just yet. Only when he found a good view through the grass did he finally stop and sink down, all angles and shoulder blades and flickering tail.
He watched what lay in the shade of tree, calculating its worth and intentions from what he could see. The purr made it... her seem harmless enough in her napping, the few others he'd spotted off somewhere with the rowdy cubs. This one was the only one alone, and that suited him just fine. Cassiel, above all, needed to know why this group was here and what they wanted. As reclusive as his home coalition was, they would be put to death to keep the secrecy, if he decided they knew too much and returned to tell his superiors.
His tail flicked harder at that thought, rattling the grass behind him till he layed his ears back and forced himself to relax, to still his unruly tail.

A noise caught her ears, bringing her from her sweet daydreams. Elua blinked into wakefulness, a smile on her muzzle. It was likely just one of the cubs, thinking they could sneak up on her. She didn't mind it. And it helped them get a little bit stealthier, so they could get better at the skills they'd need one day to hunt.
"You made a little much in the way of noise, dear. Now...why don't you come out, so I can see which little is playing 'mighty hunter' today?" She had a smile on her face, and a playfulness to her voice that said she meant no insult by her words, ever.
