He couldn't even stand himself anymore.

Gently, the icicles on the Northern dragon made soft sounds, clinking together as pained ice-blue eyes traced the frost that he brought along with every step that he took. Of course, he'd had a reason. Orin had been... terrible. He'd murmured so many dragons in cold blood, with absolutely no reason to be doing so. He tortured them, let them die slowly.

Freyr paused, shaking his head, digging his claws into the soil and trembling gently. He'd murdered another dragon in hot blood, not bothering to hear him through. He'd looked so scared, too. That expression was imprinted on the insides of his eyelids, repeating forever. How terrified Orin had appeared, finally not having the upper hand in one of his fights, finally knowing that he was going to lose, and it would be his only loss...

He shook his head violently, scattering icicles across the ground. What was going on here? He shouldn't feel bad, he rid the world of a pest!! But then he winced. No. No, Orin had been a dragon, just as Freyr was. No more and no less.

The male blinked suddenly, realizing where he was. He was at the edge of his territory. For one of the first time in years and years, he was going to step beyond this territory. He looked toward a tree that was near to him, sighing weakly. He placed a paw to its trunk and let out a soft breath, leaving a mist of ice crystals in the air in front of him. Focusing, he let the water in the tree freeze in a certain pattern, carving indents in the wood, before letting his paw fall, pulling his upper body off the ground to tear off a few chunks of bark.

Underneath, the wood was carved just-so, so that it read simply 'gone...'

And with that, he left.

Life was a boring affair. In all its great mysteries and adventures, in its basic form, living was just as droll as watching mongrels fighting or hearing the idiotic prattle on.

Tanni had a great expanse for love and compassion. She tried her hardest to help those around her, but sometimes a girl just needed some space. Her coat wasn't about to get dirty for the meals she was forced to catch or because some child was clinging to it. Though she may look it, she was not part of Stormwind's brood and would not tolerate being thought of as an elder sister to the twit she called a daughter.

Strange rainbow eyes took in her surroundings with mild dismay. In a fit of stupidity, one that she regretted deeply, she'd wandered off and was now surely on her way to the great unknown. She was innocent; a prim rose among the wild daffodils of her 'family' with a strict set of morals that hindered her from truly living out in the wildnerness on her own.

The dragoness' stomach churned. She was starving. Hunting wasn't something she was good at, but she tried as hard as she dared. What good would it do to break a claw out here, where there was no one to mend it for her?

Taking a deep breath, Tanni trotted off to what she assumed was the West with her gait slower than usual. She scanned her surroundings to form a visual in her head. If she could find out where she was, then she could decide where to go from there and life would be good once again.

Freyr was quiet. Just as he always was, though. There was little change in his demeanor aside from the fact that each time the icicles that clung to his fur rung out in the open air, he froze them together, halted the noise. The lack of the musical sound only added to the melancholy air that surrounded the large dragon.

Pale blue eyes no longer glanced up with the glimmer of a smile dancing in them when the birds flew overhead. No longer did he flick his tail playfully at a passing youngling. No, none of that. He just walked slowly further and further away from the home that he'd known, taking the chill aura of his with him.

It was a moment too late that the large dragon looked up, in perfect time to run right smack into a beautiful... mountain dragon? Eyes wide, he backpedaled, feeling his face heat up from beneath his fur. "T-truly, you have my sincerest apologies, miss," he said quickly, willing himself to bow but unable to draw his eyes away from the entrancing white-and-rainbow coloured female. "I haven't... I mean, I have... been rather... out-of-sorts lately."

He seemed to have forgotten that most beyond the northern border honestly believed him to be mute.

Tanni's ears pricked up. She could have sworn that she heard the most melodious sound. Strangely enough, it was close to her, but just as quickly as it had appeared, it stopped. Knitting her brows together, the female shook it off and continued. It truly bothered her, this sound, but she had to keep moving.

Rainbow eyes scanned the horizon tensely as she waited for something to attack her. Her family had warned her countless times that being alone, exspecially with her coloration would be suicide. Tanni shivered. Was it becoming colder?

Chills raced up her spine. It was always colder before you died. Her pace quickened as she meandered her way through the forest, not really paying much attention to anything in her frenzy to escape. She had seen those eyes, but fear kept her moving despite her urge to run. Closing her own before the impact, the dragoness screamed before falling onto her back.

I'm going to die. This is it, I'm really going to die. Stupid, stupid me. Why didn't- Curiously, Tanni peeped open her eyes to glance nervously up at her attacker. He was huge. The largest dragon she'd ever seen in her life, including that glutton Quill. Such muscle, and that fur...Oh, my. I've got the vapors. Her cheeks were glowing pink by the time she'd righted herself, shyly flitting her eyes from him to the ground at her paws.

What kind of fool screamed like that to a Northern dragon? "It seems that I am the one who needs to apologize. I didn't realize that I'd come so close to the border and I shouldn't have reacted like I did." Her voice was soft and very inviting, her smile matching the verse.

After hearing the last bit of his apology, Tanni's eyes lit up with concern. "Out of sorts?" She leaned her head forward, ears pressed black back against her head. "Whatever could have happened to- My lord! Are those icicles? Right there, on your fur. Your positively covered in them. No wonder your stuttering, you must be freezing." Carefully, she stood up from her crouched position and approached him, dead set on helping to warm him. The cold was passing from his body to hers and involuntarily she shivered. That poor man.
