Date of Birth: Unknown (was discovered May 13th, 2009)

Likes: her mother, being active, strawberry jam, Mighty Blox
Dislikes: enclosed spaces, being alone, peanut butter, stiff clothing
Personality: For one so young, Nazrin has a strong sense of self- she knows what she likes and what she doesn't, and tries to get her own way whenever possible. However, she gives up surprisingly easily. While she has her own ideas, she is quite likely to go along with others, even if she would be better off on her own. Nazrin enjoys being active, and balks at things like naps and indoor voices. She isn't afraid to get her hands (or her clothes) dirty. She is, however, terribly afraid of enclosed spaces, and cannot stand elevators or closets at all.

Appearance: Although she's actually on the tall side for a woman, Vera appears to be quite delicate. Her figure is willowy, her large, membranous wings are practically transparent, and both the wings and her head are hung with pearls that grow naturally like hair. Perhaps because of this, her real hair is rarely given attention, and usually just pulled into a simple high ponytail. Like her hair, her skin is lavender, but a much paler shade. Her eyes are dark gray throughout, with no visible sclera or pupils. She also has a number of dark gray markings along her cheeks, neck, and back, most of which are covered by her clothing.

Occupation: Detective with the GPD, assigned to the Vice Squad. Officially ranked as a Sergeant.
Hobbies: Trying new things, drinking, water-skiing, beachcombing
Likes: Mystery novels, the unexpected, Peach Schnapps, the ocean
Dislikes: Hot weather, salt, criminals, large families, the ocean
Personality: Simply put, Vera lives for excitement. She made a number of sacrifices to get where she is, and takes full advantage of the benefits of her position. Not one to say no without a damn good reason, she is willing to try anything once (including being a mother). Her life is all about making the most of things. While this is her main motivation for her job as well, she has since developed a sense of justice that, while not rock-solid, at least allows her to perform admirably. If she's slipped up, her superiors haven't noticed... yet. And yet, Vera is the kind of woman who would consider bargaining with those she pursues, if there was something very good indeed in it for her.

Melville Duane: A small-time criminal, dealing in a number of areas including (but not limited to) forgery, gambling, narcotics, and stolen goods. Placed an order with Dr. August Crusoe, with an aim to make it to the "big leagues." Whereabouts unknown.

Amy Richards: A Forensic Technician working in the crime lab of the 37th Precinct. A close acquaintance of Vera Lyndsea. Present when Nazrin was discovered, and helped arrange the paperwork to let Vera care for her.

Laelia Araceli: A police aide, recently assigned to the 37th Precinct. Studying to become a police officer. Considers Vera to be her mentor. Nazrin's pinch babysitter.

Unnamed Officers: Assorted officers with the 37th Precinct.

- Crate purchased by Melville Duane. Seller unknown.
- Duane's residence searched by police. Crate taken into police custody.
- Crate opened, revealing a young girl. Was placed into custody of Det. Vera Lyndsea, who directed the initial search.
