Ahava:
Ahava lay at the top of the ruins once again. She was enjoying the silence, as usual, and letting her thought run away with her. The ruins had to be her favorite place, but unlike others she was not one to remove things from the ruins and wear them. As of yet most things seemed to beg to remain where they were. She had not found an item that called out to her, begging to be hers.
He thought were on her nieces today. They were adolescents and she still could not believe she had nieces nearly as old her but her brother had gone off while she was still young, leaving her and the very capable hands of the pride. She knew they needed more members, new blood. He was home, but he was busy, so she did not seem him as often as she would have like to.
Heve:
Yokheved walked slowly towards the ruins, Tamar lying across her back and staring up at the sky. "So I says to him, 'Whatcha gonna do with that big rock? Not like you can eat it or nothing.' An' would you believe it, he actually tried. An' then I laughed an' he finally threw it at me an' I caught it. Swear on my honor, I did. An' I took it back to your mama an' she had sommon put it in a necklace for your papa. Looked real good on him," the monkey chittered. Usually, 'Heve didn't like hearing stories about her parents, simply because it hurt too much. She'd lost so much that evening, it was terrible to be reminded of it.
But not today. Today was the anniversary of that day, the one day she allowed Tamar to go on telling her stories of her parents while they walked to the ruins. 'Heve always gathered a few pretty green leaves and a few golden flowers to lay in a corner of the ruins in memory of her parents, of which she held carefully in her mouth as she walked. Tamar told her that's where they first met. "You know, your mama really loved your papa, an' he her. They woulda hated to see you without a nice male at your side. How come you don' try harder, 'Hev?" 'Heve sighed and rolled her eyes a bit. Tamar knew how difficult it was to have any sort of relationship without being able to vocally express one's self. Even her relationship with the lioness who had raised her had been strained. It was tough, but she got by.
'Heve stepped into the ruins and looked around. She didn't see anyone, so she headed for the corner, listening as Tamar started humming and tapping a foot against her rump in a sort of of-beat rhythm.
Ahava:
Ahava felt she relaxed enough for one and so she rose slowly shaking the dust from her pale coat before turning and heading downward into the ruins. She let her feet take her where they please and it was a few moment before she herself realized she was headed for the garden. It did not look like a garden it was wildly overgrown but their was a definite order to the garden and plants she hadn't seen anywhere else but around the ruins. She smiled thinking of the odd flowers that grew in the garden.
She moved forward looking at all the treasures of the ruins, she loved them so much. Some glitter and some were dull. Others were broken and a few even had the painted marking that Ahava and Eyal sported on their shoulders. She almost did not notice the pair who were in the ruins until she heard through the silence the thumping of a beat she'd been unconsciously swinging her tail to.
She looked at the monkey tapping on the lioness rump, “Hello there,” she said smiling.
Heve:
Yokheved jumped a bit at the sound of another and she looked over her shoulder as Tamar sat up to look surprised at the lioness that approached. "She looks like Master Eyal," Tamar whispered and 'Heve rolled her eyes again. Yeah, it wasn't like she didn't notice. In truth, she didn't know much about either of them, they had been near-grown when she was born. Well, at least Eyal was.
She bowed her head slightly in greeting and Tamar swung her legs to dangle over 'Heve's side. "I'm Tamar, an' this is Yokheved. Who're you?" Tamar asked rather sharply. 'Heve twitched enough to send the monkey bouncing nearly off her back. The monkey had to grab fur to stay on. "Er, I mean, what name might we call you?"
Ahava grinned slightly at the pair, it was true she did look very much like her brother. She nodded at the names, “It is very nice to meet you. I am Ahava, Eyal's younger sister.” She momentarily thought how lucky Heve had been to have found her totem which was something Ahava had yet to do, but she was not interested in seeking on, she believed the pair should find each other. She thought she might miss her if she was constantly looking.
“Do you come here often,” she asked. “I am headed for the garden or rather my feet wish me to go there, so there is where I shall go. It has many wonderful plants I have not seen elsewhere.”
'Heve shook her head slowly and ran her paw in the dirt. She drew a circle with her paw and place a dot at one point on the outside of it. Tamar glanced over her shoulder, frowned for a moment and then jumped. "Oh! She says no, we only come here once a year. It's... kinda a tradition, to honor her mama an' papa. We bring flowers," Tamar translated for the mute lioness. 'Heve didn't know what she would have done without her life-long friend. Tamar had been found by Basmath as a barely weaned baby, taking her as her totem and raising her. But not much longer afterwards, Basmath and her mate were killed, leaving Yokheved and Tamar with no family but each other.
Ahava:
Ahava watched as Heve drew a symbol and the Tamar seemed to interpret it. Her eyes widened slightly and she went over silently looking at the symbol. Amazement clearly shown in her eyes, she loved the symbols in the ruins but this was new. “That is amazing,” she whispered. “So this means no,” she asked the lioness before her, who yet to speak a word. She wondered if she was like the young cub she'd met a few days ago. The little one really seemed not to like to talk, but it didnt bother Ahava even it made talking to her kind of hard.
When she thought about it however, it was kind of nice. Ahava liked the sounds of the ruins as they were and to her silence truly was golden. As a huntress she knew one sound to loud could cost one their dinner.
Heve:
'Heve waved a paw and shook her head, glancing back at Tamar with a pleading expression. "Ah, I think she wan's to say that what she drew was just to tell me to tell you we only come here once in a year," Tamar said, sticking a finger in her ear. "I usually pay 'ttention to her expressions an' paws, but sometimes she draws things. Those're harder to figure out," she added with a shrug. 'Heve sighed again and shook her head. All that sighing was something of a feat, considering she had yet to drop the flowers in her mouth.
Ahava:
Ahava nodded her understanding and took a step backward, “Still amazing, but I have a question and I hope it is not rude of me to ask, but why do you not speak. I met a cub a few days back that was not really one for speaking, I am quiet certain she only spoke once”
Ahava suddenly realized she stopped the pair in their journey and gave a shy smile, “I do not mind to keep you. However it seems we are headed in the same direction for now. We could continue on together.” She hoped the pair did not mind the company, it seemed to Ahava that she'd had enough alone time today. She figured they'd part ways when on of them reached their destination but for now it a chat seemed like a nice idea.

Heve
It was Tamar's turn to sigh as she returned to laying across 'Heve's back. "'Heve used to talk, back when she was a little baby. Then her mama an' papa were killed by lotsa leopards. Bassy sent me for help, so I didn' see most of it. 'Heve saw it all. Hasn't spoke since, like all the words in all the world weren't enough to express her grief, so she stopped tryin'," she monkey said lowly and 'Heve hung her head a bit as she started walking again towards where her parents had met. She hadn't spoken since that night and she rarely cried. Only when a dream really scared her did she let the tears fall. Nannies weren't supposed to cry, anyways. It would upset the children.
Ahava
Ahava moved with the pair nodding slightly, once Tamar finished his story. “I understand, my parent died when I was young as well. I do not remember them, but at least I have my brother. And you have Tamar,” she said smiling slightly. “Its hard to express how you feel, but I if you don't want to talk I sure no one will mind.”
Ahava frowned slightly looking at the pair. “Where have the two of you been? I don't think we are to far apart in age, but I haven't met either of you before.”
Heve
'Heve shrugged her shoulders shaking her head a bit. "Oh, it's not that she won't, 'Heve really can't. Believe me, she was really upset-able as a cub over it, 'specially when people used to ask what her name was. That's not real easy to tell someone when you can'-" Tamar tried to explain, but 'Heve hissed through the flowers and bucked her back again. Her totem squeaked before she tumbled off. 'Heve stopped, turning back to the dusty monkey, giving her a sharp nod with a satisfied, 'that-should-teach-you' snort.
"Geez! You coulda just whacked me with your tail. Coulda hurt me doin' that!"
Ahava
Ahava laughed, “I do hope that you are okay, but that just goes to show you that somethings should stay private, even if you do speak for Heve.” Ahava moved to help Tamar up offering her paw. “You know you never did answer my question. Where have the two of you been. I've never met you before, but I sure we've both been here all our lives.”
Ahava couldn't help but to smile brightly at the pair, “You two are quite the pair. I'll bet we'll be great friends in and time and maybe I'll be able to understand Heve all on my own. We will be friends won't we?”
Heve
'Heve nodded her head and tilted it a bit at Tamar. "Pfft, she just doesn't like standing out, you know? So she watches out for the cublings an' helps take care of the really old lions an' keeps to herself most other times. An', I mean, I go where she goes, you know?" Tamar explained as they started walking again. Sometimes 'Heve wished she was a bit more social, but in all honesty she wasn't sure she really had it in her. It frustrated her that she couldn't communicate well on her own, so she just kept a bit away from most everyone else. Or, she did, that is. It seemed that as she got a little bit farther into her adulthood that met and interacted more. Well, if you could call it interacting.
Ahava
"I guess that makes sense," said Ahava. "and its seems to me you do a very good job of not standing out." When Ahava thought about it she was always trying to be noticed but only for one thing, her hunting skills. Otherwise she found herself hidden away in the ruins, "Guess when I think about it my own fault I've met you as well. I train a lot to be the best huntress, one day I want to be head huntress. I hope Queen Adara will see my skill and choose me. When I'm not training I'm here, in the forest, or by the waterfall and usually by myself."
Ahava shook her head and trotted forward, "but now we've met and I hope we will meet again."
Heve
'Heve paused to look at Tamar, gesturing to the sky and then run the paw down one of her cheeks, down from the eye. "What about her? Oh, 'Heve wanted me to tell you about the lioness who took care of her. Uh... She was a great huntress?" the monkey asked, tilting her head to gauge if that was what she had wanted said. 'Heve nodded and smiled a bit. She missed her surrogate mother too, but it was fine. She had plenty of memories. She wished she could have wished Ahave good luck in her endeavor, but that wouldn't be easy to tell Tamar to say, so she simply smiled, continuing towards the spot.
Ahava
Ahava smiled at Heve, "Thank you for telling my that. I bet she was wonderful. Did you ever go with her? I find hunting exhilirating." Ahava smiled and crouched down, "You heart races and your lungs feel like the burst when you pounce." Ahava pounced on nothing and particular, turning to look at Heve and Tamar.

Heve:
'Heve shook with silent laughter and nodded her head a bit. "I used to watch," Tamar replied with a nod of her own. "'Heve was pretty amazing on her own, but... Well, hunting for a pride is a team thing and communication is really helpful. She liked being with kids a lot, so nanny was a better option. I like 'em, too." 'Heve watched as she talked about hunting, smiling a bit more. She liked seeing that sort of enthusiasm.
Ahava:
Ahava stood and turning around, "Thats true but not entirely. You tend to communicate outloud before a hunt when you are given a job and a position, but afterward I'd have to say you simply do you part and if you need to communicate, its about knowing where the others are and silent signals. Or at least that the way I think works best." Ahava loved hunting and it was something she was good at it. It was her passion, she loved cubs to but hunting was what she would do for the pride.
"I bet you are a wonderful nanny. I love cubs too, but I think you should always do the pride what you are best at. I am glad you found your place Heve. I do not know what I would do if I could not hunt." Ahava pounced on a small frog, but quickly let it go. It was best to only take what one needed.
Heve:
'Heve shook again with laughter. She liked Ahava, she seemed nice and amusing. She stopped when she saw a small pile of stones, two set in front of them, one sandy and another green-ish in color. The lioness straightened her shoulders and walked slowly over to the place. She leaned down and placed the flowers and leaves between the pile and the pair of stones. Then she pressed her forehead to the ground for a few breaths, sending a silent pray to her mother and father, hoping they were well and happy where they were.
And with that, she straightened and turn back to the other lioness and her friend with a small smile and a short shrug.
Ahava:
Ahava looked to the stones and watched as Heve placed the flowers down. She understood this must have been for the lioness parents. She walked up to the Heve and smiled gently before turning to the stones and bowing slightly. "Your daughter is very nice, wonderful indeed."
She turned back to Heve and smiled brightly. "I bet you parents are just as proud as mine. Would you like to see the ruins gardens, that where I am headed." She looked to Tamar and grinned, "I think there is some very nice fruit their too. Although its a bit of a mess I don't think it been tended for a very long time. One day I might try to clean it up a bit."
Heve:
"Ooooooo!" Tamar replied and looked at 'Heve, eye wide and expectant. 'Heve nodded slowly and gestured with a paw for Ahava to lead on. She'd never spent a lot of time in here, so she wasn't really clear on what was where, so she was willing to follow where the older lioness led. "Great! Lead the way!" Tamar laughed, hopping over and leaping back up onto 'Heve's back, sitting with her legs hanging off of one side.
Ahava:
Ahava smiled and turned to leading the way, bouncing about happily to the garden. It was to far from where they were but it was through a small hidden passage Ahava tumbled into a cub. Ahava came to a what looking if tons a woven vines across a wall, but there was an obviously Ahava sized oval in one part and when she stepped to see lots of flowers and greens think blooming all over. It was a rather messy rythym but a rythym none the less.
Heve:
'Heve wished she could have said something in awe at the place. She so loved green things, just like her mother had, and this place made her smile grow happily.
"Wow!" Tamar gasped and leapt off into the green, on the hunt for those fruit Ahava had been speaking of. 'Heve rolled her eyes and shook her head before turning back to the other lioness with a small shrug.
Ahava:
Ahava gave a small sigh, then giggled slightly when Tamar ran off. "Beautiful isn't it. I love it hear. It so beautiful. I like to think my mother would have loved it, my papa too." She turned to Heve and shrugged back before moving over to a pretty yellow flower and plucking it free.
She walked over to Heve and offered her a flower placing it on the ground in front of the lioness. "To you my new friend, I hope you like this place. You'll come back and visit me right, or I'll come visit you while you watch the prides cubs."
Heve:
Heve laughed again, well, at least only in so far that her eyes closed and her shoulders shook with it. She nodded in agreement, to everything her new friend said before picking up the flower and holding it up to get a better look at it. She smiled fondly and sat down to carefully tuck it into the fur on her tail-tip, so that it would stay.
Ahava:
Ahava smiled brightly, "Great then, lets have a looks around." She turned and headed toward some plants she found interesting. "I really like these one and I can't find them anywhere else in the prides lands, not even in the forest, i bet ..." Ahava trailed over talking about the plants, pointing to the different ones and showing Heve around.
