It was morning when Sumati was walking towards today's 'playground'. He was following the voices of the cubs playing. He hadn't had much time to play with his two new brothers and today e was determined to spend some time with at least one of them.
When he reached the cubs he saw that there weren't many, but they sure made a lot of noise. He shook his head with a smile and searched the small group for two practicular pelts. He didn't spot a brown cub, but he did see one with a color like his own, but covered with spots.
"Hi, Hodari!" he said as he approached him, a warm smile on his face. "Do you want to go on a little adventure with me?"

Today didn't feel normal.
Hodari'moyo woke up feeling entirely different that day, his ears furrowed back, eyes squinted, mouth wide as he yawned. When he woke up, he felt his body shake with excitement at something unknown, as if something would happen right before him. In his rush, food became nothing more than a reminder of his rumbling stomach, and his thoughts raced to the point that he never realized that he didn't have breakfast that morning. Abandoning those essentials were not great. Though, could you blame him? The adrenaline that passed through him didn't crave food; it craved adventure.
It was true that he had had his fair share of adventures, even getting in trouble a couple of times for wandering too far from the pride's heart. He never realized the consequences of his actions; everything was an adventure for the young cheetah, something to explore and discover, to learn.
Today, he felt obliged to go and join the other cubs in a little game of tag. His brother did not join him, or so he thought, as his glimmering purple eyes didn't catch the familiar brown pelt. His tail flicked playfully before he readily sprang at the others before him, declaring his victory and dashing off before they got their chance at pawing at him.
Then he heard a familiar voice in the distance. The voice was approaching him, and as he turned to look at the cheetah, an excited smile grew on his face. He was rather fond of his older brother. They shared most of the same pelt color, both being quite easy to spot for their shades of blue.
"Adventure?" He asked, body shaking happily. "I would love to!"

Sumati's smile was even brighter. "Great! Then follow me, brave little soldier!" He commanded playfully and strode off. He felt full of energy, but he kept his pace low so that Hodari could keep up easily. He didn't want to tire him out so early.
Khepri swooped down and brushed Hodari's mane. "Yes, let's go!" The bird was just as excited as the cub. The last few days Sumati hadn't been wandering, which was very uncharacteristic of him, and she was happy to finally be going somewhere. She could have flown off on her own, Sumati never stopped her from doing that, but it wasn't nearly as fun.
The older cheetah laughed at the bird flying around with such excitement. "Hey, careful with my brother there!" He warned playfully. He then asked Hodari in a hush-hush voice, leaning down, closer to his brother's ear. "Do you want to know where we're going? Mom allowed me to take you to the grasslands." Every cheetah cub loved the grasslands. It was the only place where a cheetah could run free, without worrying for tress, bushes and such. It had been his favorite place when he was a cub. "I would have taken both of you, but I couldn't find Iphuti. His loss, though, because after that i have a little surprise for you." He winked at the cub.
