Sumati watched Khepri fly around, making some complex and beautiful moves. He could watch her do that for hours at a time. Sometimes her acrobatics made him want to soar high in the skies like she did. The birds, they had such freedom...
The voices of the playing cubs from his musings. He smiled to himself as he watched them play. So many new lives had appeared recently. His two little brothers, Xenia and her siblings and Maluuni's new cubs. It occurred to him that he didn't even know their names yet. Hmm, were they here right now, he wondered as his eyes followed the movements of the cubs pouncing on each other and chasing each other.

Pasang lay up in a tree, he was going to pounce from up high on the one of the other, but once he reached a high enough branch he realized that might not be a good idea. He watched the others play from his perch, until he was distracted by a bird flying about. It looked as though it was doing tricks and Pasang wanted to reach out and catch the bird.
He did just that and quickly lost his balance, tumbling to the ground below. Lucky for him he had not climbed up very high. He hit the ground with a small thump, which was followed by a 'umph' from the cub.
He'd landed on his back and was now looking a rather larger er, well he wasnt entirely sure what the blue feline was called but he was sure he'd probably seen one before.
"Hello," he called still lying on him back in the leaves."

When Khepri suddenly came face to face with a creature in the tree branches initially she felt curious, but when it slashed it's paw in her direction she got really scared. She didn't want to be caught. The small young bird hid herself in Sumati's short mane just as she heard the cub hit the ground.
Sumati was so caught up in his own thoughts that he didn't see Khepri coming at him. It surprised him when he felt something hit his head. He barely had time to register what it was when he heard a thump right next to him. Curiously, he turned to see a cub, a cheeton as it seemed, lying flat on his back.
"Hey, are you okay?" He asked with worry. He was relieved when he heard the cub greet him. "Hello yourself." He smiled warmly. "Are you hurt?" It occurred to him that Khepri, who he recognised the thing in his mane to be, had probably gotten scared from the cub.

Pasang rolled over and stood. He shook his fur light and smiled, "I'm fine. Just a tumble right. I guess I should tried to touch that bird. I'd still be up there if I didn't."
Pasang turned and made to climb the tree again, grabbing on the bark and making his way up. "My name's Pasang. What's your name? Is that little birdie yours. I'm real sorry if I scared her. She's really pretty."
He climb until he reached a low branch and looked down at the cheetah waiting for some answers to his questions.

"I guess you shouldn't have." Sumati laughed. "Don't worry about it though. When I was your age I tried to race with birds. Never managed to win though." He laughed again. He had really believed he could win those days. the dreams of a overly ambitious cub. Sumati followed the climbing cub with worried eyes. "I'm not sure you should be doing that. You just fell, remember?"
"My name is Sumati. Nice to meet you, Pasang." He made an attempt to look at Khepri, but since she had settled herself on his head rather comfortably and had no intention of moving, he didn't have much luck. "That is Khepri. She is my friend."
After she had realised it was just a playful cub that had scared her, Khepri had calmed down. "Nice to meet you and don't worry about it." She greeted from Sumati's head. "Thank you." She smiled when he called her pretty.
