What a wonderful day! The sun was shinning, the birds were singing the squirrels were dashing back and forth....it truly was the perfect evening. Right? To the naked, ignorant eye it was but the truth was evil still lurked behind every corner. Whether it be the vicious fangs of a Kalona or a Skinwalker, or the simple disapproval of a mother. It was all evil and it was all a heartbreak. But this particular mare did not have to deal with the typical kind. She had not yet encountered a Kalona, she had not yet feared death or physical pain.

But every day she went through a mother's disappointment. Every day she had to deal with the mental and emotional pain of hearing how ungrateful, stupid and useless she was. Every day it was the same, nothing ever changed.....the same shots, the same words....and Tiramisu began to grow terribly, terribly tired of it. Wasn't a mother supposed to love her child no matter what, isn't that why she gave birth? But it wasn't as though Vanilla Swirl hated everyone of her kids, she hated the girls. Bertie and Tiramisu. She hated Tiramisu more because she was quiet. Quiet, shy...unsocial. The soft brown mare couldn't understand how that was a good enough excuse.

She put up with it for her entire life, she didn't complain to her mother when she put her down. She didn't argue with anyone, she kept her mouth shut and talked to no one. But as the days went by, Tiramisu couldn't get over the fact that her life wasn't normal. Her attitude wasn't normal.

She wasn't normal.

Maybe she needed friends? Enemies? Something! Perhaps she needed to learn how to cry, how to laugh...how to show any emotion. She was hesitant to show her face in public, hiding usually deep with the darkest part of the forest but today she walked along in the outskirts, enjoying the weather.

Tiramisu knew there was something wrong with her, but she wasn't really willing to change....or at least she thought she wasn't.

Thank God. Honestly, if it had rained for just another day, he would have probably packed up and wandered off home but today those from above must of acknowleged the stallions growing aggitation from having to stay murky in dirt until the weather had picked up. Then usually just as he was feeling the relief of fresh clean water lapping up the dull grey of his fur to a bright white knightly pelt again - it would rain! Today however the sun had decided to shine brightly, brilliantly soaking up the land in its golden warmth. The sky a pastel blue... Birds flying with innocent whistles of joy. It was simply a pleasure.

He had decided to stretch his musces a bit along the out skirts of a large forest, it had been a long time since he got a good run out of the four powerful legs. He shoved his head back, wisps of blonde fluttered back behind him as he slowly trotted along the rim of the forest enjoying teh rush of wind against his elegant features. He'd never actually made an effot to look that way, his mother always told him he was naturally blessed. His trot soon became a canter, and he was treading more ground with every strong pound to the terrain until he saw.. her.

A mare? Why had it been recently all he seemed to meet was... mares? He jumped to a halt, skeptically gobbling up the air in his strides until finally sinking the two golden hooves into the ground to a mighty stop. The mare wasn't far away but, she was indeed very beautiful. twisting his head to the side he wondered whether he should go up to the girl, or whether he should pass by... Since when did he ever pass company by though? he needed all he could get, travels often grew lonely in time and who knows when the next chance at company would come along.

He dipped his head to the side, flicking back the pearly prongs upon his crown which gave away his sudden latch of curiosity upon the girl. He wasn't entirely bothered in himself what he would choose.

'yeah... No.. What the heck, no harm done... Right?'

Smiling, he approached the girl calmly, as a child he would panic about meeting a girl, since his sisters would always go out of their way to embarrass him but not today!

" Greetings, fair lady. Wonderful evening, wouldn't you agree?"

The weather the past few days was pleasing if only because it seemed to wash away all her troubles. After each drop of rain that splashed on her slender body followed a tear, or what felt like one. It was as though the sky was doing the crying for her and there was no need to worry about who would see her this way. But now it dried up and she was alone again, with the shinning sun.

Tiramisu wasn't aware of the angel-like presence at first. She was simply musing to herself, staring at the ground, then up at the sky, into the forest then back at the ground. Her eyes reverting everywhere not looking for anything in particular....especially not looking for anyone. Just looking, staring....as if she existed in a world where there were no trees and no plants....just air.

But then the voice came from what she thought was above. Physically it was, for he was massive compared to her almost unusual tiny body. She was indeed very short, very skinny....but not unhealthy...it was just the way she was born. Dad said it came from his grandmother, and Mom said she just wasn't blessed with real beauty. Whichever way, Tiramisu herself was pleased with what she had. Being small meant she would be able to blend in more.

Turning her head to the owner of the voice as he approached her, blue eyes feasted and then widened. Who....what was he? Grandpa always talked about the winged ones, but the ones he wore seemed much more than just that. They were on his head, and his feet as well! To her he seemed like a statue, like a figment of her imagination.

But if he was, he wouldn't be talking. And there was no way she could dream of something like him. So the tiny mare blinked in response to him, unsure what to say. Unable to speak, but also not willing.

"Yes." She whispered finally after a few moments of silence. "It's....b-b-beautiful out...can I uh....a-ask you o-o-ne thing? You're not...a...a....a regular winged stallion.....are you....??" Normally the mare wouldn't have said all that, especially in one breath but her curiosity overtook almost immediately.

He was....beautiful. She'd never seen anything quite like him. Heck, she'd never seen anything more than just her family...

"Err..." Alex uttered lowly with a lowered jaw, eying the girl from the short distance away that he was. He tilted his head, shifting the jaw back shut with the top one. He gave her a friendly smile, and approached the stammering mare rather carefully. He'd never had a greeting such as that before, maybe she was.. Awe struck?

'naah I wouldn't have that much luck'

he rolled his eyes inwardly at his childish assumptions and chuckled lightly at her accusation. "No, no. Your right Im not a regular wind. I, madam am an Angeni." He winked playfully, now elegantly taking the few last steps till he was close enough to have a more, respective conversation with her. The sound of bells enchantingly sounding in a silent whistle in the background. Of course, the cause of the chimes were oblivious to them, others however they were clear to. The angeni race was a mystery, he was still learning about their kind even now... It was only to presume others wouldn't have much of an understanding either.

She had very creative markings, all blended in an array of neatly woven colors and a mixture of stripes and spots, even with a tiny frame, well most were considered tiny next to Alex and his father, a lot of other filly/mare's would have envied such coloration's. He considered her cute, even if he hadn't admittedly told her that at first chance.

"So, you were alone out here?" he glanced around, making a casual observation. The forest held no familiarity of presence and the sky was clear of any large objects even the lands were perfectly deserted from another form of company, it was just... Them? That couldn't be too bad now, could it?
