Somewhere in the thick forest surrounding the Gaian Ninja Academy, there is a particular cave. This particular cave is set into a moderate-sized cliff face, surrounded by a dense thicket of trees, and the innards of this particular cave warrant little note. It's a fairly narrow passageway that extends in and down for about fifty feet, before ending in a large round chamber. The ceiling of this chamber is barely within sight from the ground, and the walls are roughly fifty feet from the center of the 'room'. Standing alone in the center is a door. There is no wall attached, there is merely a wooden door standing in a stone frame that juts up from the floor of the cavern, with nothing else behind, or around it.
The door stands about eight feet tall and four feet wide, with an arched top. There is a simple doorknob on the right hand side, and an intricate carving lightly etched into the wood, and the stone underfoot. When someone knowing the trick pushes open the door, what is seemingly an entire new world opens up in front of them.
A brightly lit cavern is what this facility essentially is. The top is nowhere within sight, and the light seems to come from a sun that isn't there. On one end of the cylindrical cavern, there is a waterfall going on for a few hundred feet, ending in a basin at the bottom of the room. The source of the waterfall seems to be a small cave in the dark grey cliff face, which is spackled with sparse greenery.
Facing the waterfall is a series of huge balconies stacked on top of each other. These balconies contain everything that Neko is attached to.
Level One: Atrium.
This is the top level, and is fairly empty, save a few shrubberies and large pillows thrown on the edge, near the railing. The view is pleasant, there's no ceiling. This is the first place a person sees after entering the door.
Level Two: Library.
Rows upon rows of old tomes and scrolls adorn the shelves of this level. There is barely enough room to walk, and the air is stale.
Level Three: Office.
Lining the walls of this level are filing cabinets full of, well, files. There is a simple wooden desk in the middle of the room, facing the waterfall.
Level Four: Secondary Library.
There are enough books on this level to keep a bookworm busy for the rest of their lives. If one looked hard enough, one could find reference material on nearly anything imaginable.
Level Five: Workspace.
This is the heart of the operation. This is generally where Neko conducts his experiments. This balcony is closed off, and is kept dark, aside from a few dim desk and station lights. There are crates of materials stacked up throughout this room, making it feel almost like a warehouse. Hidden within this maze of crates are different stations, some containing surgical tables, large and small holding vats, desks and bookshelves, nearly anything Neko would need to conduct his work.
Level Six: Primary Holding Cells.
This level feels more like a sick aquarium. Some of the creatures here defy description. There are enormous tanks, containing hundreds of smaller, fish-like creatures, most of these to be used as raw materials. The more dangerous creatures are normally kept in stasis, frozen in a tube, or drifting asleep in a tank of solution.
Level Seven: The Lake.
This is where the waterfall meets the ground. There is a ring of stone around the basin, with the basin being seemingly bottomless.
Levels Eight and On: The Underground.
Noone, aside from Neko, is really sure what goes on down here. It's impossible to even find the doorway unless Neko reveals it.
