I really don't understand what the problem seems to be. That page is WAAAAY OLD, which makes it outdated and mostly irrelevant.
And the whole "Our members become your advertisements" thing? People look WAAAAAY too much into it: It sounds just like another form of Viral Marketing. rolleyes
The way the Integrated solution is described is a bit, well, unprofessional, to tell the truth. In practice, this kind of viral marketing should be less intrusive (No "Featured Item of the Mont" thing... That sounds moronic; possibly some kind of special store, for those of us who don't mind being Marketing Whores ninja ) and more oriented towards making the users like the brand, not impose it on them.

It's alot worse in that forum and the others too probably. The first being is like these people never explored a merchant's section of some of the places they visited. This how the advertisers and businessmen speak whether they work for Martha Stewart or Hot Topic.

Awwww.... I didn't know about this media kit until the Admins had already removed it. Anyone have any screenshots or quotes? It sounded hilarious and interesting.
As for "Our members are your advertisements" I really don't care. Especially if it's something optional.... like CHOOSING to buy a Pepsi can to hold or something.
I just find it amusingly ironic that a VAST majority of those kids complaining about this kit probably wear Tommy Hilfiger, Hot Topic, *insert other coporate brand here* crap everyday. I know I have t-shirts that have soda brands advertised on them. I like it. I have t-shirt that advertise bands and movies too. OHNOES!!!1!!

I find this to be yet another case of a bunch of little kids bitching about something irrelevant simply because they have nothing better to do. Advertising is a way of life, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who zones out as soon as the commercials come on. We walk past this stuff everyday, and barely even notice it. But then when the money-hungry leeches come a' blood suckin around here we must all band together and COMPLAIN.
Of course, it's these kinds of people that allow us a good laugh, am I right?
