Shadai hung up the phone and sat the newspaper onto the table where Cody sat, innocently coloring something onto a blank piece of paper. "Well Ary, you're in luck. She said she would babysit him so you don't have to and leave him at some random place again," the Egyptian explained, turning to look at the white-haired female standing next to the fridge with a cup of something in her hand. She suspected it was iced tea, but she hadn't a clue.

"Ah, good. Probably should write down our numbers and such before she gets here... And a note about the squirts... addiction to taking our stuff. Hm, need to lock my room again too," Ary muttered, grinning and looking over at Cody. "Ok, squirt, while Ebby babysits you I want you to NOT sneak into my room. If nothing is taken, I'll get you something to display all those feathers you're collecting from those other kids," she said, wondering if he would agree.

"Can try," was all the toddler said as he switched crayons and continued on with his picture of his mother. So far, it looked like a mess of brown-ish squiggles covered in brightly colored golds, blues, and various other colors that Shadai wore on a daily basis.

"Alright, that should be the last of the numbers. Remember to behave Cody, don't want her calling in an hour crying and saying I need to come home because she can't handle your... activeness," Shadai warned as well, pinning the numbers onto the fridge in a place that wasn't covered in drawings or other various sheets of paper or magnets. Cody merely nodded, lifting up the picture and grinning. "Like? It you!" he said, giggling and handing her the drawing. Beneath the squiggles was his name and "MOM" in neat, bold letters.

"I do. In fact, I'm going to pin it up at work so everyone else can see your excellent drawing, how's that sound?" she asked, grabbing the folder she was going to take with her to work. "Hm, Ebony should be arriving soon..." Turning, she groaned at the now-empty seat and Ary suddenly dashing out of the room. "DON'T YOU DARE GO INTO MY ROOM YOU LITTLE TWIT!" Arytiss roared, rushing up the stairs to beat him to it and lock the door in a way that he wouldn't be able to get in no matter how hard he tried.

Shadai merely sighed and wandered to the front door to wait for Ebony to arrive, glancing at the time briefly. She had to admit, the toddler was rather clever in the art of distraction and stealing.

Shadai, with her bad timing, opened the door and managed a hello just before a rather loud crash sounded upstairs. "GIVE ME-OW!" came a shriek and a flash of red came running down the stairs, something white being held carefully in his hands. He paused, however, upon seeing Ebony at the door and was instantly picked up during that brief pause by Ary who proceeded to try and wrestle the item away from him.

"Uhm... Sorry about them, Arytiss tends to be a bit... Irritable. Cody, give Ary back whatever you stole and come here," Shadai called after removing her hand from her eyes. Cody scowled and shook his head, biting Ary's arm to try and make her let go.

"NO! MINE! SHE LEGGO!" he shouted, refusing to let go of the item. "Not yours! Mine! Give it back before I-AHA!" Arytiss started, and once got the item free, held it high above Cody's reach. "Nyeah, nyeah. Now go see Shadai while I return this to my room," she snapped, turning and walking back upstairs and leaving a rather angry Cody on the floor, arms crossed and all.

"Oh, sorry, I forgot my manners. Come on in and make yourself comfortable. That's Cody and I'm Shadai. Arytiss was the one that just went upstairs, she'll be leaving soon as well, thankfully. All emergency numbers are on the fridge in purple crayon, can't miss it," Shadai explained, moving out of the way to allow Ebony to come inside. Cody glanced over at her and tilted his head curiously.

"Lust too? You purple like Lir," Cody asked, shooting a glare and sticking his tongue out at Arytiss as she wandered back downstairs and into the kitchen. Shadai just sighed, leaning a bit against the door, wondering just how long Ebony would last with Cody in one of his moods. "Again, sorry about him. He was calm earlier... Just don't let him out of your sight," she muttered, warning her just in case. She was glad, however, that Ebony was one a child from the facility, meaning she probably knew a bit about the different sins and virtues and how they generally acted.

Cody grinned and nodded. "Course I do! Lir was at church acti-actev... something with 'Ludra. Has pwetty purple wing an'... tently-thingy. You has pretty wings too, not purple though," he explained, rising from the floor and brushing himself off of whatever he thought he had gotten onto himself.

At the comment of his sin and virtue, the toddler merely nodded as he ventured closer. "Yes, who Hya... Hiyasinth an' Drake?" he asked, figuring they were the angel and demon but had no idea who was which.

"Ah, so you've met with the angel and demon before? Good, was going to be worried that he would be too much for you. Been almost too much for me as it is," Shadai commented, glad that the toddler had instantly taken a liking to Ebony and that she had dealt with both his DNA parents before. Glancing at the time, the female groaned, realizing if she didn't hurry she would be late.

"I have to get going, before I'm late. Behave for Ebony, Cody, and I'll be back by dinner. As I said earlier, every number I could think of you needing should be on the fridge and there should be enough snacks in there to feed you two for a month if you get hungry. Toys are in his room and the basement playroom. If you need me, I'll be available at work, Ebony. Take care, you two," Shadai said, giving the toddler a hug before turning and heading out the door, leaving Ebony and Cody alone in the house. Cody just stared at the door, expressionless.

Cody turned and nodded, grinning. "Yeah... How many demons an' angels have you met?" he asked curiously, since she had said that she was neither of those and if he had to meet with all the demons and angels... Well, his mum would have to find him first and then drag him there for there was no way in hell he was going to go back to the facility willingly.

"What I like? Uhm... Hide-n-seek, color a bit, dunno. Whatever I find to do," Cody replied, not bothering to mention that his number one favorite thing was taking things from Ary's room or roaming around the city with his mother. "What you like t' do?" he asked, wondering what she would like to do and possibly give him an idea on what they could do as well.

Cody's eyes widened at how many she had willingly visited. "Why go there? Place not nice. Cold and scary," he commented, shivering lightly at his memories of the place. "But not having to go much, that good," he added, happy about that idea.

"Coloring sound fun, crayons in kitchen from earlier. Unless you have some," the toddler commented, grinning at the thought of coloring books. Shadai had said she'd get some for him eventually once she had the time since her boss was starting to schedule her a bit more, whatever that meant.

"Oh. What his name?" Cody asked as he led the older spawn into the kitchen. A small box of crayons lay on its side on the table with a couple of crayons laying at random across the table. Near the box was several blank sheets of paper, just waiting to be used for some purpose or another.

As he toddled over to the chair, he struggled to get into the chair for a moment before managing to climb up onto it and settle into the chair. "So, what kind of coloring books you have?" he asked, putting the crayons back into their rightful spot in the box so he knew where they were later.

"Almas? Kay, might meet him when I hafta go back later," Cody commented, then glanced quickly over the coloring books. Hm, which to choose? He pointed to the one with dinosaurs, grinning. "Like that one. Dinosaur one look fun," he decided. Already he was thinking of the colors he could use for them. He'd need green and brown and possibly some other random colors for the plants and highlights.

Cody grinned and opened the coloring book up, marveling at the pristine lines and how well everything was drawn. "Nah, not hungry. You want color too?" he asked, choosing a green crayon from the box and staring on the plants first. With a great deal of patience, he slowly colored the little spaces for the plants, making sure he stayed in the lines.

"Or you want t' draw? Gots paper from earlier," he added, nodding towards the blank sheets of paper. He barely looked up from his coloring, totally focused on coloring the picture. And yet, had Shadai been there, she would have known that concentration to be his plotting, just waiting for her to stop watching him for a moment so he could slink off and play hide-n-seek or take something.
