For those of you who haven't noticed, GGN guilds now have a new feature. Guild Banners! They're at the top right corner of all the guild pages and on your guild registry screen.

I have made a couple so far:




I think it'd be nice to rotate our guild banner periodically. I will be making more, but I would LOVE to see some guild banners made by y'all too! These banners are different than the banners in our other GPG Banner thread. Those banners in that thread are for your signatures. These new guild banners must meet certain specifications:

Width - 200 pixels
Height - 40 pixels
Format - GIF

Please make all banners readable. They MUST include our guild name (spelled correctly), must fit ToS and GPG rules and MUST be the correct size and format. Do NOT steal images please. There are PLENTY of free stock photo/clipart sites on the internet, make use of them. Or ask permission before using someone else's image for your banner.

Please submit any guild banner you make to this thread. Either post up the image or alink to the image. I will save and host them myself as well. Then, periodically, I will rotate them!



Also, I will be redoing the original GPG Banner thread to include all of these new guild banners. This thread is temporary.

If you do post a message about banners, would you include my offer, please? I'd love to make banners with GPG members' kids in them but only will do it with permission, of course.

I posted a locked announcement (with a link back to this thread) to the Main Forum today concerning guild banners. Hopefully it will draw some more attention! I also quoted your post and put it in the other announcement as well.

If I have some time today, I will try and make up some more banners and see about writing a randomizer script for randomizing the banner rotation (once we get enough to put in it!). I just need to find somewhere to host some PHP for free.

kmaritza: I did check out cutandpaste. It seems to not like to work well with Netscape/Firefox browsers though?? I did some tests and it was kinda really slow to load the images. But in IE it worked fine.

I may go ahead and use it for now though. I still haven't gotten the time to write up a PHP version nor do I have space to host it, so I'll hafta go with what I've got.
