• No art theft. Do we even have to mention this one?

• Be literate. Text/leet speak are not welcome here.
• Do not beg for a pet, no guilt tripping or whining.
• No advertising. That's what your signature is for.
• Be patient; we have lives outside of Gaia to deal with too.
• No obtrusive, animated or image heavy post styles.

// The Choose Your Own Adventure Contest //

• You may only win ONE (1) of the two White Ribbon Kirin.
• These two Kirin are RP/ACTIVITY REQUIRED. Please see the Activity Section below.
• There is no gold fee for participating in this contest nor for the Kirin won.
• Everyone is welcome to play, excluding Aerithe Shop Staff.
• You are a Kirin in this CYOA - read the story below for more details.
• You are expected to answer with a RP'd response, i.e. a few sentences detailing what you're doing.
• At the end of your post, in BIG bold letters, post your path choice (ex. 2.1).
• Each path can be taken only once, though multiple paths lead to the same advances/ends. (Round 1 is excluded.)
• First come first served - entries are limited.
• If you reach the end of your journey unsuccessfully, you may not enter again.
• Mules and alternate accounts are banned from entering.
• Not all paths are the same length. Some are shorter but riskier, others longer but less dangerous, and some are a balance of risk and length.
• Continue your journey in your original post. (when the next round prompts go up, edit your post with your next RP response and path choice.) Do not post in this thread multiple times unless specifically directed to do so by Aerithe staff.
• New rounds will be posted every 24 hours. If you have not made a path choice by that time, you will be disqualified.

// Activity Requirements //

• If you aren't interested in Roleplaying a Kirin (or at least learning) do not enter this contest. Period.
• By entering, you agree to meet the activity requirements outlined here, subject to change as we see fit.
• As an owner, you agree to play your Kirin faithfully as a member of it's species:
- i.e. within the general physical and ecological limits of Aerithe.
• Both these Kirin are expected to participate in a minimum of 1 RP a month. RP's that carry over several months are fine, not participating in a role-play for 30 days is not.
• Roleplays are to be of a good quality, continual one word/line responses are not enough.
• We expect to see you regularly either in the guild and/or the shop - several times a week at least, lurking/emoticon/one word posting doesn't count.
• If you need to go on hiatus from Gaia, please alert Aerithe's staff beforehand.
• Should you fail to meet these requirements without notice, the White Ribbon Kirin's ownership will default back to the shop.

• At our discretion, any/all of these requirements may be removed if/when we feel comfortable that you will not simply run off with your pet nor toss them in a horde to languish.•

// The Story //

Sunlight dapples your hide as you bound through the forest, eyes bright and mane streaming out behind you. Newly grown yearling legs carry you down the narrow trail and one of your herd's scouts nods a greeting as you fly past. It still feels a little odd to be acknowledged as a near-adult, after being subject to a foal's restrictions for so long.

Only one last task stands between you and full fledged herd status as an equal - your Nessalenn, the Yearling's Journey. You've been listening to tales from the other herd adults for months, each one as different as can be. Some of it seems fanciful, there couldn't really be that many paths to Aerithe's Grove.

Dancing with barely contained excitement on your cloven hooves, you nod a greeting to your fellow yearlings; sibs, playmates, rivals... they are your journey companions now, at least until you find your own path to walk. Many pairs of tufted ears swivel towards the eldest stag that bugles for your attention.

"It is time. The last of Newleaf's rains have fallen, we are into Verdant, the season of green. We have taught you all that we can, now, it is up to the balance of Aerithe to decide which of you will return triumphant and claim a place in our herd, and which will not.

Such is our way, so it has been since the first of our kind was given form and gifted with sharp mind and the forest's voice. From the Lake of Journeys, where we now graze, you must follow the river ever tailwards, back to it's point of origin. There, you will find Aerithe's Grove, and the flower that grows no where else in the Lands. Be swift, be wary, but above all else, be wise; you must walk this path alone.

To each of you, good hunting, and may the Goddess guide your choice!"

You snort softly and toss your head, such pomp and fuss over something so simple... after all, it's just a flower. How hard could it be...?

You've travelled almost a quarter suncircle from the safety and familiarity of the herd, finally free to make your own choices; a fact that's both somewhat scary and exhilarating. The first of those choices presents itself to you now, for the band of yearlings have reached a fork in the river.

• 2.1 To follow the north east fork, through the swampy reeds on the near bank.
• 2.2. To follow the north east fork, crossing the river first to higher ground.
• 2.3 To follow both rivers, crossing the near bank to the swampy middle section.
• 2.4 To follow the north west fork, fording the river then keeping to the forest beyond.
• 2.5 To follow the north west fork, across both rivers along a fallen log and some small boulders mid-stream.
