But, of course, that's just me.
I'm sure there are alot of people out there shaking in their boots at the thought of darkness.

I wouldn't say I'm afraid of it, I have excellent night vision and to be fair anyone attacking me at night has the same disadvantages I do, unless its a governmental tac-ops team, in which case the glowing trails from their LED's will let me know where they are so I can defend myself.

Can't say that I am. I actually like being in the darkness. But sometimes, depending on how I feel, it may make me nervous if I'm alone.

The darkness is, has always been, and always will be, my very best friend. In truth, I wish the sun would die out until I die. That way I don't have to put up with it.

This would be totally okay for me if I had good night vision and the sun wasn't needed for all life to exist on Earth. Like it or not, we need it to survive. Even if it burns your skin, gets in your eyes, and overall poses a general annoyance, we still need it.
As for my personal opinion, I like the darkness most of the time, hate it at others. Although, if I like something, it's a given there's one situation where I'll hate it even if the hatred is only temporary.

Nah. I'm not afraid of the dark. Darkness is just a matter of perceiving the world though. I mean, some people see spiders as dark and scary, but they're just another life form. Meh...

I like the darkness it hides and shelters me until I my enemies finally give up. It would be nice if I got paid to stay in the dark.
